I was just on confused.com and they offered the cheapest insurance with all the add ons at a reasonable price. Went through to their site and did all the questions then when I went to confirm order said technical issue and never let me proceed. It was only then I googled their number to try ring up to finalise the quote where I stumbled upon trust pilot and seen all the bad reviews. Thank my lucky stars I did as sounds like it’s not worth none of the hassle and sounds like a complete scam of a company. Thank you Trust pilotees I will pay a bit extra without the headaches

SCAM COMPANY
After reading reviews I decided to set up a policy as i was curious to see the outcome. I screen recorded all the info I entered on my end (date of birth etc) to set up my claim.
To then be told I had entered my DOB wrong and would be charged £100 to change it! Caught red handed! Like the other reviews they play with your information and make out you entered it wrong!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Thank you so much for leaving such honest reviews. I was shocked to see everything I wanted in one place and for a very decent price. However, as others on here, I read the reviews and alarm bells are ringing. It's stressful enough looking for great car insurance at a reasonable price, if you can find both, but to have these issues on top, just isn't worth the chaos it brings. I'm going to take advice from people on here and try AA to see if they can help. Thank you so much for sharing so honestly.

what an awful company DO NOIT GO NEAR THEM, RIP OFF,

The App and website works well and is fairly easy to use. In my experience getting a hold of the customer team is fairly easy and wait times weren’t too long. However I checked before my policy started if I could put a modification on my car at a later date and was told this would be okay and that the car would still be covered just the modification wouldn’t be. But after my policy started, when I went to add it before fitting the modification, I was then informed that it was not allowed and doing so would completely void the insurance policy. This was confusing as I had received two conflicting answers from the same team, which was very frustrating as it meant that I have lost out on money having to cancel, when I would never have insured in the first place, had it been made clear to me at the start it wouldn’t have been accepted.

Please don't trust them.. Please don't belive their low price ,it will go all the way up once the cool off period ends. They send me an mail telling that my details are wrong and needs to update and it will cost 180 pound. Rip off.. Please don't...

Stay away from these people.The policy only lasted 28 days; consider this a scam. I had to pay £100 to cancel the policy. My policy used to be cheap, but suddenly they sent me a threatening message saying they would cancel it unless I accepted a new rate—jumping from £42 to £104 a month—just because I changed my workplace. I do not recommend them at all.

Had just spent this morning looking for a new insurance policy and this company looked promising, lower than my renewal price with current insurer and, even after discussing this with them and being offered a better price, I was just about to confirm purchase...then decided to check reviews and am glad I did...such bad feedback I opted not to take the risk.

Just renewed with AA for less than last year, less than this company and had excellent customer service on my phone conversations with AA.

Thank you for everyone who took the time to leave a review that helped stop me making a poor decision.

The worst service I have ever received in my entire life! I signed up for my insurance on the 15th of July. Everything was fine until they requested for extra documents, these documents were submitted and they kept rejecting them even though it was stuff they requested for. They accused me of having two accidents I knew nothing of and this took ages to clear me. Something so simple took like two weeks!! I submitted the stuff on the given deadline only for them to accept it and then later reject it again when deadline at passed which made my insurance to go up. Had they sorted this out before, I would’ve been able to get the necessary documents in time. I had to cancel the insurance because I was worried that if this is how we start, what would happen when I actually needed them. They charged me an exorbitant fee to cancel £204!!! Bear in mind I cancelled because of their incompetence!!! I would never recommended them to anyone, very incapable company. I want my money back because this was your incompetence

They had the cheapest quote on MoneySupermarket. So i clicked through to order. After you Don't add any extras they add 45% on the final page. This doesn't show on the payment page until you after you have paid.
Once i Realised I had been overcharged compared to my quote. I tried to ring them with the number they emailed with my original quote. Then then said they couldn't deal with it since it's an online policy. I then tried the online chat... 4 hours with a 5 minute pause between question,ls, it takes an hour to get through their 'security' when they just waste your time asking you your name & post code again. Then they finish for the day and you have to try again the next day!
Theyb then say they will charge £25; to cancel & it will take 10 days for the refund to go through, this on a policy that first start for 15c days.
AVOID!!, pay more with a better quality insurance company.
This is the worst experience I have ever had with any insurance broker. Imagine if you had to make a claim and wait 4 hours!
These people shouldn't be in business!

Disingenuous scammers, they sent me a vague email advising they needed to discuss the policy. I rang up in good faith they advised me their was a discrepancy with my mileage across their systems. I advised off the top of my head I do 10k a year but could possibly be more, but wasn't certain so put it up too 12k miles to be safe and then they said I was giving conflicting information and decided to increase my policy by £105 disgusting
hustlers, I cancelled my policy and leaving them, I said don't change the mileage keep what was originally put but they say as it was stated they now can't change it and are demanding the money what a surprise disgusting hustlers, horrible company avoid at all costs.

if i could put 0 stars i would terrible staff even worse online chat. policy details wrong tried to amend 4 times over phone and on online chat got nowhere also tried to change vehicle they tried to make me pay a years insurance on a car i no longer own and a years policy on a new car they wanted £2000 for a years insurance on a 20 year old car when i have 13 years no claims i am now taking this to the insurance ombudsman as i were only 1 day out of the 14 day cooling off period and charged £200 to cancel the policy that was held for 15days

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Genuinely the worst company I have ever dealt with. I found what seemed like a really good quote online, but about 10 minutes later realised I needed to change the policy start date. That’s when I discovered there is no option to speak to anyone everything is online only/AI chat!

I tried the online chat for over two hours to get through to someone, only to repeatedly be told that the chat had ended when it hadn’t even started!!

I eventually decided to cancel the policy. They had already taken an initial payment of £52.26 but are now only refunding me £27.26 meaning they have kept £25.30 for doing Jack S!!!

I am now making a chargeback claim through my bank.

Honestly, save yourself the hassle and AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!

Very stressful with this company 1st central (picnicinsurance) they wont answer your call first, and so many Scottish people on phone really very stressful,you cant understand what he is saying,and he wont resolve the problem and one more he talk like really a drunken person.and finally when i made the purchase of car insurance the money has been deducted from my bank account but the payment page stop working and say we protected your money its safe with us.really please dont choose both 1st central and picnic car insurance everything is waste of you time.

Very disappointing experience. They attract customers with low initial quotes, then start adding conditions and requirements, causing the policy price to increase unreasonably. Their cancellation fees are also extremely high.
I would not recommend this insurance company. Based on my experience, I would advise people to stay away. Very negative experience overall

Used Go Compare and took out the insurance with Picnic. The platform requires you to answer if you have "other" employment. I do. I am CEO of 1 business Company Director of another & retired. I only used the first, but they didn't allow 'Property Investment" in the choices, so I put Property Development. After the 14 day cooling off period, I was emailed asking me to get in touch; I did that day! I was told I'd made an error and they would update the policy. They did and told me the extra cost would be nearly £200. This was just £50 cheaper than a new policy would be for a year. It was after the 14 days cooling off - convenient that. They are a total rip off. I cancelled the policy and went with another provider, from another comparison platform. Seriously beware of them. I feel totally ripped off and conned by
their call answerer. I would never go near them again.

I bought insurance online through a compare company with picnic insurance. Everything seemed fine until I tried to submit my no claims discount. There were issues from this point on. They wouldn't accept my ncd. I tried several times to get this resolved without success. So I decided to cancel the policy before they did, which would impact my insurance in future. Couldn't cancel the policy on my online account. So had to use the chat process. Couldn't cancel it on the first day of trying. But managed after an hour on the online chat. Was then hit with massive charges for cancelling the policy. For 26 days of insurance I was charged more than a 3rd of the price of the years policy.

Not happy at all.

I would avoid this rip off company

Horrendous company no customer service online is a scam customer service answered after 40 minutes told me go online which is pointless as cant alter start date should be investigated by trading standards

Not even 1 start, some one shoul do something, they took my money without providing nay insurace documents. They told me that I need to wait a month for them(till the last day when my current insurace end) How is this possible???!!! Taking money and not even sending a single confirmation email? After I spoke with customer support, they took 25£ of my money as fee. Why ar this SCAMMS legal?
