Peoples Ford Arvostelua 

Thanks to Scott McFarlane, Mobile Mechanic Chris and the services team at the Peoples branch sighthill edinburgh.
Our transit minibus has had a few pre existing issues that the original seller had failed to spot or disclose.
Scott and his team have been fantastic in not only fixing the issues we have had, but also chasing the selling dealership to cover the cost of the parts and repair.
He has said on a number of occasions that we should not have been in this situation and took ownership of the problem on our behalf.
Great service, even so far as to delivery our vehicle out to us as he knew the difficulty we had reaching the branch without the aid of a courtesy vehicle due to COVID restrictions.

Hi, visit at peoples Ford was a huge disappointment for us. We’ve wasted 7 hours of our time to go to Liverpool and also lost quite a lot of money for petrol. We received a call that the car is in mint condition and we don’t need to do video call- we can pick it up straight away. So we reserved the car for £100 and happily went for a long trip. According to what we saw in pictures car was just beautiful and in perfect condition.. Well .. not exactly but we only found out when we got there. Car was clean externally on our arrival but there was lots of scratches - we asked about it before and we have been told that there aren’t any. The boot looked like someone very strong tired to put something way to big in there. One belt was mouldy - in the whole length ( Picture attached). We also asked about brake discs and we were told that this is in excellent condition- again we had a look and it’s due to exchange shortly. There was no point to drive the car so we passed the Keys back, haven’t even heard sorry, nobody offered to view any other car. We honestly felt like nobody cared. We expected a bit more from Ford especially for the amount of money we were going to spend. Do not recommend to anyone.

I would like to thank Richard & Ben at Peoples, Falkirk for their amazing service from start to finish. Richard provided us with all the info necessary for us to make an informed decision, with NO pressure or feeling of lack of choice. He was attentive, responsive, kept us realistic and was willing to negotiate; getting us an amazing deal on our new blue Focus. 😀 Ben ensured we were up to speed on all the figures and paperwork, giving us time to get all our ducks in a row and taking the time to guide us through each step of the trade in/buying process. Although we could not enter the building both of you made us feel very welcome, spending time in the freezing cauld talking, discussing options and answering all our queries; with no fuss. Once complete (in world record time!), Ben made sure we knew what each and every button, knob and gadget was for in our new motor. You have provided us with an excellent car buying experience and I will not hesitate to recommend you to everyone. Richard & Ben, it was a pleasure; down to earth, normal and real people who understand what customers want. Thank you. I love my new car but already looking forward to the trade in! 😉

DO NOT USE THEIR ONLINE BUYING CLICK AND COLLECT FEATURE, WE ARE LEFT 2 WEEKS LATER WITH A MOUNTAIN OF STRESS, A CAR WE BOUGHT HAS A MAJOR GEARBOX FAULT ON THE FORECOURT AND CANNOT BE SOLD TO US AND THEN TO TOP IT OFF WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR THEIR SYSTEM TO REFUND OUR FULL BALANCE WHICH COULD TAKE 10 DAYS!! WORST BUYING EXPERIENCE WE'VE EVER HAD.

Friday

Put my car in for an mot and service, and was quoted £280 for remedial works to pass the mot, was told at 1pm the car would be ready,and called them myself to confirm this at 4pm. When I arrived to pick the car up I was then told the “parts where not in” and it wouldn’t be ready until Monday . This resulted in me having to pay for a taxi home.

Monday

Arrived to
Pick my car up, comes to settle the bill and they attempted to put an additional £300 onto the bill !I informed them this wasn’t what I was quote and and it was reduced but I still paid over what I was quoted .

Tuesday

Driving the car and used the washers (I was advised these had a weak jet) they don’t work .get home to find the washer reservoir is in fact empty yet the car has just been mot’d and serviced??? Pointed this out to Neil the customer service manager who patronisingly told me it was flagged as weak....no Neil it was empty!

Won’t be returning next year as I have for the 4 previous mot and services . Very disappointed

They had not serviced my car when I bought it approved used. Hadn’t been serviced for well over a year, and it didn’t occur to them to even suggest to me that it be done. Left it for me to work out afterwards. I’d say that’s pretty poor customer care / relations.

Transit Custom was booked in for new brake fluid, pads & discs all round, 10 days after the major Service that identified the work. Price was written on the service sheet and agreed. Told it would be 1/2 day so if I dropped it off first thing then I’d have it back by lunchtime. All good.
Van was dropped off as they opened (7:45) and I went to Costa to do some admin & wait for the job to be completed.
09:00 phone call to apologise as they didn’t have all the parts! Ordering them straight away. Van would be ready by close of day. Disappointed but sometimes these things happen, they shouldn’t when you’ve got 10 days to organise but taxi home & 1/2 days work reorganised, apologising to my clients for the inconvenience.
16:00 Phone call, apologies, it’s just going into the workshop now! I asked for a definitive time when it was going to be ready but they didn’t know! Asked if they could ask the technician and call me back?
16:55 no phone call so called them. Sorry, it will be ready by lunchtime tomorrow, so agreed 13:00. More calls to rearrange my rearranged jobs again!
Taxi to the garage arriving at 12:00. Paperwork & van done by 12:30, and as an apology for the issues they dropped the charges for the brake fluid but the price still came to £3.00 more than quoted!
By this point I’d lost a day of work at £350 & I couldn’t face another hour of arguing over the price so left!
Won’t use People’s Ford Speke again, but frankly I don’t think they care, after all they’ve already had over a £1000 off me in cash!

Booked van into get repaired at Falkirk branch
Picked van up following repair and then van had an oil leak from a pipe that wasn’t connected back up correctly had to get it into a local garage as people’s Falkirk service department wouldn’t take any responsibility for the problem and had to hire a van for 3 days when it was back in garage at my expense thanks people’s Falkirk

Peoples Ford Speak, Great job on me vehicle would recommend to all and thank you to Neil Hughes Service manager who helped me alot and answered all my queries. Stahh very friendly also.

Filled in online forms on their website and on Autotraders for a callback with regards to new Fiesta purchase still no contact that was 8/7/2020 a little bit of courtesy wouldn’t go amiss, poor show.

Bought a brand new Ford Finesse, from your retired branch at Bathgate, all of 17 years ago, and happy to say, that it looks as new as in 2003, when l got it.
Nothing ever major needed for the car, still runs like new as well.
Just wanted to thank you for having great, reliable, value for money vehicles !
17 years is the perfect example !
