Well organised

The holiday was a fair price and all went according to the info on the trip. Nice hotel and nice coach and driver. Pick up and drop off at home all good.

Not a Palmers coach which was not up to the normal standard although the Driver, David, was excellent and entertaining. The choice of outings was poor with a tram ride without scenery, a visit to Lyme Regis where a coach load of poor mobility pensioners were left to go down and walk back up a very steep slope and a visit to a donkey sanctuary.....with no donkeys in sight !!!! The 6 day tour was programmed for two days free in Sidmouth when one was enough, Thankfully David organised for us to spend a few hours in Honiton which was much appreciated. This is the most unhappy we've ever been coming back from a Palmer Holiday.

The hotel was good bus driver was great and pick up time was good

Gary, our driver was informative, friendly and professional.
Coach was clean and comfortable.We liked the on board charging points.👍🏻
Hotel was adequate. Parking area for coach was dangerously inadequate and Gary was forced to park in a nearby coach park at a cost of £8 daily which the hotel said they would cover but subsequently declined. They also refused to help Gary take cases from hotel rooms to coach on departure so many customers helped him.
Food was fair. Breakfast was bare minimum. No mushrooms, no seeds, nuts, dried fruit, pastries or porridge and cereal area was very messy as they were served in large bowls with a spoon to serve each bowl. Very unhygienic ! 🥴 Dinner was canteen standard and the service was hit and miss😢
Rooms were adequate but extractor fan in bathroom did not work and was not attended to despite reporting it to reception. Pillows were poor. Towels were small and thin. Shower curtain was very annoying as Bath was narrow with a hand rail sticking out.
Hotel needs more care to attention… marked walls, dirty carpet edges, only one lift which takes no more than 2 at a time (and broke down at one point).
Trips were good with time to explore.
Pick up was on time but drop off at Wakefield left us waiting in an unsheltered area with bags and cases for 5/10 mins with threat of rain whilst coach continued to Durham area. Taxis should have been there waiting for us. Would Woodhall Services be a better change over place ?
Palmers coach was good but we would not stay at this hotel again.

The whole holiday was fantastic.
The driver Eryn was brilliant
The breakfast and evening meals was great
The scenery was awesome so glad I wasn’t driving
Would love to do the other side of Scotland too

Not a Palmers executive coach but a 10 year old Red Rose coach,with toilet out of order.The driver did not know the touring areas or where to park,this caused us to lose out in some sightseeing.As this should have been a luxury holiday,we felt very let down.The hotel room we were allocated was not sea view as requested but a small side room overlooking shops and traffic.We asked(pleaded)to be changed,but we’re told hotel was full.We tried twice but one particular reception staff was quite short with us-we were polite!
We are very disappointed by this experience and will not trust Palmers again.I rang but they just said to write in to complain,didn’t seem too bothered!

The whole trip was good despite one or two hiccups with the hotel in Thurso but fortunately did not affect me.

Nidd Hall is a lovely building with beautiful grounds.
I enjoyed the actual hotel facilities, the food was good with a good selection.
The only thing I struggled with was the tours which were tiring for elderly people. Perhaps I should not have gone on every tour. I would know the next time.
Door to door pick-up was great, worked perfectly.
Our driver, Mark was pleasant and helpful.
Would I go back? Not to Nidd hall but maybe another Palmers tour as home pick-up is the attraction for me.

Our driver Lee only found out he was doing the tour 4 hours before he picked us up in Wakefield at 7 am we had a couple of stops on our way to Kingussie arriving just after 6 pm the Duke of Gordon hotel is a little tired in places but staff all very good meals ok buffet breakfast with good selection evening meal choice of 3 starters 3 mains and 3 desserts there is a small well stocked bar and a ballroom that had entertainment every night. Our room was ground floor (3) room was ok but had loose wallpaper and chairs were a bit thread bear nice bathroom with a walk in shower . Trip on Caledonian canal was well organised and lasted about 2 hours and went as far as Urquhart castle we then had a couple of hours in Inverness . Trip on the Strathspey steam railway we travelled from Broom hill station to Aviemore a trip of about 35 minutes unfortunately the train was pulled by a diesel engine Lee told us later that the police had stopped them using the steam engine because of the risk of trackside fires Aviemore was full of motorbikes as it was Thunder in the Glens weekend. The trip to the Culloden Battlefield was ok but due to mobility problems I could not walk round the battlefields after lunch Lee gave us the option to go back to Inverness or go to Fort George we chose to go to the Fort but because of dropping people off in Inverness we only had a couple of hours at the Fort would have been nice to have longer there but as it was an extra can't complain. Our journey home started at 9 am and after a couple of stops we arrived back in Wakefield around 6-30 pm . Although I enjoyed the trip it's a long trek but thanks go to driver Lee worked hard to try and keep everyone happy.

Superb coach with pleasant and helpful driver, Mark. Mercure Haydock hotel an excellent choice with very good service and meals.
More information on the venues would have been helpful, but the weekend was very enjoyable.

Good to have a home pick up and return, made travel easy.
Coach to RHS Bridgewater/Southport trip was very modern and comfortable. Driver (Mark) was very good and you should use this coach and driver again.
Enjoyed the trip.

Weekend Out and About at RHS Bridgewater We had an excellent driver and a super hotel.
More info about our itinerary would have been useful.
Altogether an excellent few days.

Two night break but had three very full days! Really enjoyable holiday.

The Warner hotel was very good.
I booked for 3 people in 3 separate rooms and 2 of us were together in the house and the other in the east wing. This was very disappointing.
There were too many stops on route which made the journey there and back very long. Usually door to door means everyone gets on the coach at the same point. The excursions were very good and just enough time in each town.

Our first time with Palmers was a trip to Cambridge on 18th August. The content of the trip was good, driver Gary was very good and helpful but the accommodation in the Best Western in Bury St Edmond’s was very poor, the food was edible but not very enjoyable. The hotel grounds very poor. We would advise you seek out a better accommodation.

The driver was brilliant very attentive, the coach was very comfortable plenty of leg room, we enjoyed this trip.
Hotel was on the seafront and we had a beautiful big window we couldn't fault the holiday at all.

Great time but would have preferred less time in Oxford and more time in Greenwich

From Leeds to Isle of Man
We were picked up by taxi from Leeds to Wakefield

The positives:
The taxi pickup from home in Leeds to the bus station at Wakefield went well, save that the addition of another couple towards the end meant that we were less than comfortable in a small taxi.
The return taxi journey for two was fine.

The coach was comfortable and modern, the driver Grant was amiable and helpful at all times and was knowledgeable.
The coach and ferry trips both ways were smooth.
The excursions were well chosen and enjoyable.

The negatives:
The hotel, Chester house, was well located , on the front, opposite the beach in Douglas.
But it was grim, unloved, shabby, drab and a complete let down. The front steps were minus some warning strips and there was no ramp.

Our room , 212, was poky, and dark, the carpet was stained, and full of crumbs.
The lower pane of the sash window was covered over to conceal the dreadful view of the rear of thee hotel, thus blocking out a lot of daylight.
There were few power points.

The bathroom was also poky but at least the shower and sink were relatively modern.

Breakfasts were adequate, and the bacon was good. However, the evening meals were of very poor quality, overcooked vegetables, fishcakes, or fish which was solid and which i found inedible. There was minimal choice and turkey was the main option twice in 4 days. The mushroom stroganoff consisted of mushrooms in a thin watery liquid..
On a positive note, the staff ware mainly students who were very pleasant and helpful.

My wife and I would urge fellow travellers to give this place a miss. There is no shortage of good hotels nearby.
