Great service (eventually!)
I had been trying to get Newton to action cutting back a tree for more than a year. Emails with two of the Aberdeen team were never responded to or actioned, which is clearly not the service you expect from your factor. Raised the request again recently and pleased that this was responded to by Ross, who was excellent. Prompt communication and action which saw the tree cut back. Great service, many thanks Ross.

Service has plummeted
Past year has seen our Newton Aberdeen service plummet. In fact "service" is non existent. Nothing but bluff and sidestepping of issues - lots of emails and no actual action. A good game talked at our AGM in 2025 ( in the presence of line manager) and zero action since. We feel abandoned by Newton .

Dealing with difficult problem
In our flatted building, an issue involving a common waste pipe was causing considerable anxiety to other owners and whilst my flat was not directly affected, access was required for tradesmen.
I principally dealt with Ryan from your Greenock office and I felt, that he did well in dealing with the issue: he was prompt in instructing tradesmen ( on a number of occasions) and was always prompt in returning any calls or emails. The issue, which was complex in nature and it proved difficult to locate the cause was eventually rectified I felt that Ryan played a significant role in that regard

These people will refuse send bill letters
These people will refuse to send actual mail bills when requested as a reasonable adjustment as someone that experiences difficulty using computers, claiming their erroneous email billing system is good enough. They will then add legal fees usually, 5-7 times the actual amount due, via a partner company to threaten debt collection.

Our payment terms are clearly stated on all invoices. Late fees are only applied when payment is not received within the agreed timeframe outlined in those terms. This approach is standard practice and ensures fairness and consistency for all customers.
In relation to legal fees, we are required by law to inform customers of the potential costs that may arise in the event of continued non-payment. These costs are not applied arbitrarily—they are only pursued as a last resort and in line with applicable regulations.
Regarding billing, we primarily operate through electronic invoicing as it allows us to deliver documents promptly and securely. However, we do aim to make reasonable accommodations where possible and encourage customers to contact us directly so we can review individual needs and find a suitable solution.
We always strive to resolve matters amicably and encourage open communication. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact us directly and we will do our best to assist.

Newton Property Management terrible factors
Newton Property Management (NPM) are, in my opinion, wholly negligent in their management of Parklands Oval, Glasgow. Residents' requests are consistently ignored or deferred indefinitely, and we have lost count of the number of property managers who have proven entirely ineffective.
The committee has repeatedly attempted to organise an AGM, but NPM refuse to share the owners' list, citing GDPR — a justification that does not excuse their failure to arrange one themselves. Owners are effectively being held hostage by their own factor.
The contractors NPM engage are equally poor. Our cleaning contractor spends just six minutes on a four-storey stairwell — a clear indication that virtually no meaningful cleaning is being carried out. We are routinely issued erroneous invoices, maintenance requests go unacknowledged, and a recent refurbishment project remains incomplete, with outstanding work still not resolved to residents' satisfaction.
If your estate is considering NPM, my advice is straightforward: avoid them entirely.

We would like to clarify that, while we understand the importance of communication between owners, Newton Property Management is unable to share owners’ personal details due to data protection requirements. However, this does not prevent engagement — we are always happy to assist in arranging meetings or an AGM on behalf of the development. We can coordinate invites, prepare agendas, and provide a full factors report, as well as attend to answer any questions and support constructive discussion.
We are disappointed to hear your concerns regarding contractors and service standards. Where issues are identified with any contractor, including cleaning services, we have clear procedures in place to investigate and address underperformance. We would strongly encourage that these matters are raised directly with your Property Manager in the first instance so they can be reviewed and formally actioned.
Regarding maintenance, invoicing, and ongoing works, we take these concerns seriously and would welcome the opportunity to review the specifics. These matters are best addressed through direct engagement so we can ensure a full investigation and provide appropriate updates.

Shambles of a company, won’t chase folk that owe fees so won’t do anything about the other issue that us tenant's pay them for !!!! Now affecting sale of our property and reply from them is shocking

Emergency Response
We were advised by tenants that the fire alarms were sounding in both several of the flats and and stairwell in our block of 9 flats. The fire brigade had been called and I went to the building to meet them. Fortunately it was a false alarm and the alarm sounder had been silenced. The fire brigade wanted the system to be checked by the electrical engineers in order for the fault not to reoccur. I contacted our factor Newton Property Management at around 7.30pm and was ably assisted by Sandra Hilton who arranged for the alarm company to attend within less than an hour. Following their attendance I received a call confirming that the matter had been dealt with. The emergency service provided by Sandra was first class, and it was very reassuring to have access to such a facility.
