Musicbed are - by no small margin - the most expensive music licensing platform available. Most of their monthly subscriptions are equal or close to any of their competitors yearly prices, as such it’s safe to assume that customers expect a lot from this brand. Unfortunately Musicbed on no level delivers.

Initially the music choice seems adequate - it doesn’t strike me as larger than their competitors but the quality has always been high (although this is obviously completely subjective!) what is disappointing is the way in which Musicbed fail to keep up with their competition. I produce mainly wedding films and as such often seek the same kind of songs, I noticed within a few months that I was just coming across the same old songs again and again with little new appealing content. While there is certainly new content, it is nowhere near the level you would expect for such an expensive website.

That said my main issue with Musicbed is their billing. I’ve been with Musicbed for around two and a half years and last month a payment was missed without me realising (I hadn’t been using the site much on account of the lack of new content I could actually use) - as I have not entered into any kind of contract with Musicbed and they had ceased to provide any kind of service my account should have been paused or put on hold. Instead of reinstating my account when the next payment went through Musicbed completely locked out my account. I couldn’t visit my account page, contact Musicbed, view past licenses or do anything at all on any Musicbed URL despite a payment having just been made. The only way for me to contact them was through a PayPal dispute in which they told me the account would not be reopened until there was no outstanding balance. So users are expected to chase at an outstanding balance that continues to increase despite no service at all being provided (not to mention invalidating their previously provided service by denying users access to their licenses and library)

Effectively this is a site that - once you are foolish enough to sign up for - attempts to completely lock users in forever with their entire back catalogue and library serving as leverage. All of this without any contract at all in place.

Genuinely one of the most appalling business plans I’ve seen from any subscription based company and absolutely reeks of being the kind of morally bankrupt company you should avoid at all costs.

I had a very positive experience with Musicbed’s customer service. I contacted them just outside their 14-day refund window, and they were gracious enough to make an exception and take care of the refund for me. They were responsive, professional, and easy to work with. Based on this experience, I would absolutely feel comfortable using Musicbed again in the future.

Musicbed has been a reliable music source for me for four years now. It is so easy to find the right music due to all of their varied search parameters as well as the tech that allows for them to find a similar song to a popular one in their catalog. The customer support team is kind and helpful and I’ve always had a good experience working with them. So glad to have found them when I was in the wedding videography business!

Without question, Musicbed is the best music source for creative projects in the world. I've been an avid fan and customer for 7+ years now and there's nothing that comes close to the quality and selection Musicbed has. Not only that their customer service has arguably the fastest response time I've seen across possibly any company I have a subscription for. They are so attentive and quick to respond - 10/10 on every level.

Scummy business tactic to only allow you to cancel your subscription in the last month of a 12 month subscription. Tells you everything you need to know about this company.

Edit to the reply I got: There is no reason to only allow me to cancel future renewals after an 11 month wait period. It's just greed, hoping people forget. 'Continued access' is not a valid reason. Any of the competitor sites I use don't have this rule and I've been using them succesfully for over 5-7 years. I also don't need help to review my case, I've managed to cancel it luckily.
