Honestly what an experience went to Cardiff and was served by a lovely man called Josh he made us feel welcome and didn’t felt the need to be rushed honestly this man deserves a pay rise he deserved his tip we will definitely come back

On web site , it stated smart casual, I went jacket and shirt , there were people dressed in hoodies. Trainers , and 2 x customers wearing sports caps , how is this smarts casual ?

A long wait between starter (which was luke warm) and main course. Had to ask for steak knives and sides as they didn’t arrive. My steak was rare although asked for medium. We weren’t asked if we wanted more drinks and couldn’t catch the eye of the waiting staff. Tables so close together, so wasn’t intimate. Disappointed ☹️

Awful food , want top prices for poor food. The steaks were like cardboard and taste of charcoal. If we wasn’t late for are show I would have asked for refund or difference stake . The lady just said oh, and because I said I got to get going she didn’t even ask why or any thing just got me and my family out of the door

Got halloumi. Pretty good.
Got steak. Very tender and the chips were good.
Got dessert. Pretty good dessert.
Came back another time and got a burger. Nice burger.
However one time I got well done steak and it wasn’t well done, but they fixed the steak after so it’s all good.

Felt very let down for the first time after 2 years of visiting their Salfords (Horley) restaurant.
Before we were served we noted that the carpet was in a right state and the place needed some TLC.
My burger was cold, the bap stale. Didn’t taste like the usual brand they serve.
I was asked if I wanted anything else and I said ketchup and a drink, Neither came and I had to ask again.
No one asked if everything was ok with the food so we asked for the bill and left at the first opportunity, was looking forward to a dessert but didn’t want to risk more disappointment.
The steak dinner my partner had was ok but I won’t be returning in a hurry.
We’ve spent the last two Christmas days here but won’t be returning this year and will look for other local options

We visited the Miller & Carter in Bessacarr in Doncaster tonight, our server Declan is a real assett to this restaurant, he gave advice on steaks and the menu, he made our first time experience in a Miller & Carter lovely, he didn't make us feel rushed and was quick, knowledgeable, friendly and attentive.

My self and my daughter went to Miller and Carter at Bagshot.We ordered from the 3 course for £36.50. I had 8oz Ribeye my daughter had 8oz Sirloin.
I asked for mine to be well done and my daughter medium to well done.
When both steaks came out you could see the blood on top my ribeye when i cut it i was shocked it was not cooked right at all neither was my daughters but better cooked than mine.
I showed our waitress who was amazing she asked if i wanted it recooked i said no. When we got home i showed my son in law who said that is Raw he is a chef.

I ate the chips and that was it. Thinking that was it we ordered pudding i had sticky toffee pudding with custard that came out i took my first mouthful only to find the custard was cold i may has well ordered it will ice cream.i told our waitress who was so sweet she took it back and got me another one.
I can not fault her at all she was amazing could not stop saying sorry i said she had been amazing and it not her fault she did not cook it.

When i came to pay the bill the bill was halved because of the issues and even though the food was of a low standard for Miller and Carter the service was outstanding.
Will i think twice about going again maybe but not all are like that and i love Miller and Carters.

Very disapointing experience.

I visited Miller & Carter Ashton with my daughter on 5th May as a treat. We arrived at around 6pm, and the restaurant was quiet, yet service was very slow from the start.
After being seated, we waited over 10 minutes for water and eventually had to request it ourselves. My drink order was incorrect (rosé instead of red wine) and, although it was replaced, no apology was offered. I also ordered a 175ml glass of wine while my daughter ordered a 125ml, but there was no visible difference between the two. When I raised this, the explanation given was unconvincing.
The food was equally disappointing. My steak was acceptable but overpriced, and the chunky chips were lukewarm and soggy, as though they had been pre-cooked and reheated. For a meal costing over £45, I expected a much higher standard and for it to be freshly cooked.
After our food was served, no one returned to check on us, and I had to find a staff member again to request the bill. This was not an itemised bill.
I regularly dine at Miller & Carter Stockport, where the food and service are consistently excellent. Unfortunately, this visit was a stark contrast and fell well below expectations. Based on this experience, I would not return to this branch or recommend it.

Having visited a couple of weeks ago and had a fabulous Wagyu Sirloin, medium-rare: soft, melt-in-the-mouth, and full of flavour. Imagine my disappointment when the dish served today chewy, full of sinew and lacking much in the way of flavour. In informed the staff and they explained that they had just had a very busy bank holiday weekend. What that has to do with the quality of the product they still had or the way it was cooked, I'm not sure. Needless to say, I won't be rushing back so quickly next time. I could have got just as nice a steak, for a third of the price, in my local pub!

First time dinning at Miller and Carter . Excellent service and food nothing was to much trouble they made you feel valued as a customer. The food was nicely presented and hot on arrival. Plenty of choice to suit all tastes the waitress was attentive and helpful. We will be going back very soon.

My favourite at Miller & Carter, the 16oz sirloin, beef dripping sauce & garlic & grand perdano lettuce wedge absolutely fantastic. I use the Rothley restaurant most frequently

Was a lovely evening lovely setting great atmosphere great food grest service especially a young lady called Rosie she went above and beyond for us

Went to Miller and Carter mailbox 2 weeks ago and it was the best steak meal experience I have had in the United Kingdom.

We went on a Friday evening, I can imagine as it was not too busy some of the less good reviews could related to Saturday, when I’m next booked in but for us, there was a very pleasant atmosphere, decor was pleasing, and our server was excellent . I really appreciated the way that the steak meal was organized with some pre-bought sides and sauces and salads but with a choice. I ordered a T-bone as did my son and it was excellent.

It is not cheap, but I felt reasonable value. Was there a problem? – Yes, there always has to be and that was, as I was really into a steak type meal. I would’ve valued cheese as a postmeal choice, but it was not there.

Overall, a great experience and, as I mentioned above, I will be returning shortly

Love Miller and Carter, we always choose Stevenage because it has the best food and best staff, especially waitress Mel. Every time we go I hope we get Mel she makes sure everything is exactly what we wanted even when we ask for wacky things, she is so friendly and good at her job! She makes good suggestions and remembers us when we come in which feels nice because the service is personalised, even though the staff must see hundreds of faces.
Scallops are 10/10 here every time, all the other locations overcook them trust me I have tried so many!!

Visited MC at Milton Keynes, it’s just alright. Average steak, average sides, just average really. Would I go back, no.
Would I recommend it, no.
Our waitress Izzy was really good though.
She couldn’t do enough for us.
Kept on checking in, making sure we had everything we needed. Izzy was the star of the show.

Visited the branch in Didcot opposite the Seat Garage, it was a terrible experience. Hour wait for food, poor service, bad food and complaints were not received graciously. AVOID!

Visited the miller and Carter steakhouse in Alwalton Peterborough yesterday.The restaurant was lovely, food excellent and well presented,we even managed to get a table with no reservation.We were served by a delightful lady called Emily who took care of us .
So well done we will be visiting again.

During the Easter 2026 weekend we went to the Edinburgh restaurant for what was our fourth visit. Excellent friendly, welcoming and professional service by a young Ukrainian lady. Our steaks were perfectly cooked in respect of what we ordered and how we wanted our ribeyes cooked (medium rare). Would give five stars but the ambience and layout of the restaurant is such that five stars would not be worthy. Management need to make significant improvements to allow for a more intimate, private and more personal dining experience. This would at least make the high cost of dining in this restaurant chain more worthwhile and enjoyable.
