Absolutely brilliant, can’t speak highly enough of metro finance. From my initial contact with Richard who got the initial stages set up, to then dealing with Hasina and Arun in getting my first mortgage application through.absolutely amazing service from start to finish, fantastic communication and very attentive care for your needs/requirements. If you are looking for a well priced mortgage advisor these are the people to go to. Hasina has gone above and beyond with her support and advice and has provided clarity of anything’s I were uncertain off. Really friendly and the communication from the team has been quickly throughout. Would recommend and certainly use again! Thank you to Richard, Hasina and Arun.

We have had such a rollercoaster of a ride with lenders back and forth, however Holly Barwell and Natalie Johnson definitely made our experience a lot better, constant updates and keeping us in the loop.

I was referred to Metro Finance by the housing association connected to the shared ownership property I’m purchasing. I understood that I needed to go through Metro Finance for an affordability assessment and sign-off, which I was happy to do.

From the start, I made it clear to the housing association that I intended to use my own mortgage broker rather than the one provided by Metro Finance. I was told that this was still allowed, but that I would need to obtain a Decision in Principle from Metro Finance and then provide details of the mortgage arranged through my own broker for their final sign-off.

The process itself was slow and communication was quite poor. It often took a long time to get responses or updates.

The main issue occurred after I informed the Metro Finance advisor that I intended to proceed with my own broker once the Decision in Principle had been issued. Up until that point the communication had been normal, but as soon as I said I wouldn’t be using their mortgage service, the tone of the conversation changed noticeably.

I was told that their fee would be reduced from £499 to £250 if I stayed with them, which I declined as I had already decided to use my own broker. After that, the conversation became abrupt and I was told the process would now take longer and that the case would need to be sent to a completely different team.

This was frustrating because the requirement to obtain sign-off from Metro Finance had been explained from the beginning, and I had simply followed the process that the housing association told me to follow.

I eventually called again and spoke to someone else who handled the situation quickly, which suggests the delay wasn’t necessary.

In the end the sign-off was completed, but the experience left me feeling that the level of service changed once it was clear I wouldn’t be paying for their mortgage service.

Given that buyers are required to go through Metro Finance as part of the process, the communication and professionalism should be consistent regardless of whether the customer chooses to use their mortgage broker or their own.

Going through the process of being a first time buyer is daunting not really knowing what to do or go about anything Lois made my life so less stressful made everything a lot easier for me to understand.

We got referred to them . The communication is really poor . You feel like you are chasing them as they don’t contact you. Your advisor is “ never available “ if you call and then takes days to return your call . Very poor service .

The turn around from our first enquiry to completing the final assessment was no longer than a week which was lovely as we were eager to ensure the home we wanted would remain available to us.

As a first-time buyer purchasing a new build, I had a lot of questions and understandably felt quite anxious at times. The team were always professional, approachable and quick to respond, keeping me updated at every stage and explaining everything clearly.

They handled everything efficiently, from submitting the application through to securing my mortgage offer, and made what could have been a very stressful process feel much more manageable.

I was told to go to Metro finance to apply for shared ownership property. Communication is beyond poor between Metro and the housing associations (Gecko). Metro pester you with automated texts to upload your documents to their portal. You get the first case worker who answers the phone so its pot luck!! As a first time buyer, I needed advice on finances, but my case worker couldn't answer any questions beyond using the online calculators and crucially told me I didn't need to put in all of my savings towards buying a property. I was allowed to hold some back. He assessed for a 10% deposit and I was led to believe I was on track.

I completed a duty of care assessment which is laughable because Metro went on to demonstrate that they have zero care towards your mental health or finances. Day 3 in the process, I received a call at 5pm, telling me I had to purchase 30% share of property not the 25% I'd been assessed for and to stomp up 25k deposit. I also had let Metro know by the morning!! At this point, I wouldn't have been surprised if my case worker had held me at gun point as well!

My case worker put me under so much pressure and left me feeling totally confused. He didn't talk through any benefits or plan to why I should put more money in. The excuse was that its the HAs decision. As a financial institution Metro should be ashamed! This was unacceptable demand on anyone and it felt like Scam territory!

Thankfully I didn't agree to it, but then I was told I needed to answer how the money I was putting forward for the property would be allocated. Another words I now had to tell my case worker there own calculations for the deposit, solicitor fees, adding furnishing, flooring. And god forbid you might want to keep some of your own money back for life events or an emergency.

There's a real lack of expertise about finance, professionalism, they can't seem to give you the numbers clearly or send you an email with a breakdown of everything to show you the workings out. It's also very slow, it took more than a week and half trying to reserve a property and with all the delays it was then reserved by someone else. Again Metro seemed clueless about when the HAs had already given a property to another person so no shared information.You get one phone call a day from your case worker and don't expect them pick up when you call back.

AI did a better job with the finances, communication and forecasting budgets for 3-5 years! From this companies website, you can tell it's cheap and some of the staff photos do make you wonder who you're giving your money too!

Amy, Grace and Christie all could not have been more helpful with assisting me in securing my mortgage offer. If I could give Metro Finance 0 stars it would probably be more of an accurate review of this SHAMBLES of a company, my advisor (Molly) messed me around for nearly a month and it always seemed like she was forthcoming at all or had any solid direct answers regarding my application instead was just constantly passing me back and fourth, telling me inaccurate things that were never really true but rather misleading and never seemed to have a clue on how to handle my queries from the start which lead me to have to keep waiting, calling back for days on end continuously to be told conflicting different excuses. Unprofessional is an understatement. I hope I never have to deal with this company ever again.
