I wish I could give negative stars. We were verbally harassed and abused by a bus driver named Barbara Miller going from State College to NYC. I'm posting this on literally any forum I can to warn people about this horrific person & company.

I have never in my life experienced a person as hateful and berating as her. She made it her mission to project her bad attitude onto everyone on the bus by screaming demeaning comments and bullying patrons for simply trying to board the bus. It is genuinely scary that someone with her temperament is allowed to drive a bus full of people. She in no way is a qualified person to be handling people's lives.

I have rode the Megabus many, many times, I'm not new to the guidelines. She decided that she had a different set of rules and violently screamed at everyone for not following them precisely- resulting in her kicking 2 of us off the bus. We apologized for not being aware of her rules many times, still insisted we were not allowed to ride. She stalled the bus for over an hour, left patrons on the bus in the hot sun with no air, shut me in the bus door and continually refused to explain any of her decisions/actions. She refused to contact her management to back up her actions and continuously harassed us.

I'm genuinely writing this to warn people about how terrifying this was. It was honestly traumatic and I've never seen an adult conduct themselves that way. And on top of that, the company itself doesn't take any responsibility or try to protect customers. I sincerely hope you don't ever have to encounter Barbara Miller from Pittsburgh, PA as your driver!

Fraud/stealing by tricking
Apparently I paid extra to get comfort and other essentials,we got a regular bus instead and just had to sit anywhere…Why charge extra when you won’t be offering the service??First time using mega bus and I’d never ever use them again!!!!

Worst customer service and no one will be there to help. No good way to contact them in case of emergency or just in general and ultimately it will be you who will lose money.

Unfortunately I can’t give less than one star otherwise I would have done so. Got on the mega bus from Manchester Shudehill to Glasgow today. Mega bus needs to train the staff in Shudehill in customer service because the workers at the bus station wearing mega bus jackets who were there to assist passengers were rude to a level that can be said to be unkind. And nowadays with everyone going through one thing or another, it doesn’t hurt to be kind. All I did was ask to be directed to the right stop for glasgow because it was my first time at the station, only for the worker to repetitively tell me in a rude and sarcastic way to go to “stop G for gormless” and send me the wrong way to get there. Once I got there, the bus was not even leaving from that stop. He was unkind and rude and there was no need for his behaviour. I was the bigger person and ignored him but won’t be using the bus again. Please train your workers to be kind especially in this day and age when everyone is battling something. Thanks.

My daughter had booked the bus from Katy to Austin on 19th sept. & departure time was 4.30 PM FROM KATY stop ( Katy mills gate 8) . We reached the stop 2 minutes before departure time and bus driver had already closed doors and started the bus before departure time and did not allow to board the bus irrespective of multiple request which is really insane .when we called customer service initially they did agree that bus started 3 minutes earlier but later they changed their statement and telling us we missed the bus and telling us bus left at 4.35 PM, however we called customer service at 4.32 PM and bus tracker also show clearly bus left at 4.28 PM. This is not acceptable and bus driver has to be held accountable for the inconvenience caused to us as there were 4 more students as well. We do have a clear proof of this and still customer support supervisor not accepting the fault and lied to us irrespective of initial person whom we spoke did confirm bus actually left 3 min before departure .

it’s look like customers rubbery service.I purchased round trip their website it’s not clearly instruction.I clicked accidentally wrong pickup drop off location when I called them customer service they did not help I purchased new ticket.When I called them returning location change thay asked $20 extra too.Be careful and don’t trap your mone…

I booked a trip to NYC from Albany and realized later I had to change the date. Knowing they don't refund, I went through the "exchange" process for a different date and received an email confirming the exchange transaction acknowledging a $120.00 credit . This morning they charged me twice, stating I "double booked" when I clearly cancelled and exchanged. They are stating I "might" get my $120.00 back, but because it was my fault for "double booking", probably not. I'm going through the arduous process of getting a refund throught Mastercard and my bank, who agrees with me. It was a cancellation. Never again, Megabus. Never again.

Almost at my destination, never entered my head they would be a bus to Manchester let alone it being so cheap,so here goes I arrived very apprehensive at the bus stop as I am a driver it’s not something I am use too, but as I’ve had an operation and need check ups and not able to drive I thought this would be the best option, I arrived with a little problem with my ticket and expected the usual rudeness you get off hull bus drivers not all of them but been using buses in hull for a couple of months now and experienced enough, but the loveliest polite helpful driver ever, it was the 8.05 from outside university hull to Manchester, in fact my daughter lives in Leeds I’ve been Googling bus times already, so much easier than driving,and cheaper 😁

Terrible experience. Bus did not show up and we were not able to contact Megabus. Had to book 2 further tickets with National Express and arrived at Heathrow over an hour late. Apparently you do not get a refund unless the bus is over 2 hours late!! If you have a plane to catch you probably wouldn’t feel ok about standing at a freezing cold bus stop for 2+ hours not knowing if your bus will ever show up!! When Megabus replied they have refused refund, their customer service is appalling, they have unfair policies, and I will never book a ticket with Megabus ever again!!

I took the bus from Toronto to Montreal and it broke down in the middle of nowhere, engine off, lights out... It was on 23rd of December, when the weather was terrible. We had to wait for 2 hours for the nex bus and obviously we had no heat, and it was just freezing. At the end the new bus came and we had to carry out luggages our own in the middle of a snowstorm. On top of that, megabus never emailed me for the inconvenience, even after emailing them my complaint. It's been 2 weeks now and still no response.
The responsibility is totally theirs as there was poor maintenance in their vehicle. We were 63 people in the bus and we were sitting in the middle of the road with the danger upcoming vehicles to hit us as it was dark and we had no lights.

My reservation code was: A***3JA.
Megabus cancelled my return trip from Washington to New York by the evening of 9/19/22.

Sadly, this situation forced me to purchase new return tickets to New York with the reservation code: A***EWI.

I requested compensation for the damages suffered or a refund of the return tickets. But they say No or even ignore my messages. It's a shame!!!

Have taken Megabus a dozen times traveling between Ottawa and Toronto. The estimated times are usually off by around 30 minutes but overall it is a smooth ride. It is not until recently that I encounter problems. We have very bad snowy weather in Ontario and my scheduled bus ride got canceled and canceled again and again. Wasted multiple days on this bus when I could have just taken the train..... or other buses provided by other companies...

I'm not even mad about the cancelation of my scheduled ride... I understand mother nature can be bad sometimes.... and they need to be responsible for the safety of their customers. There are two huge things that I am mad about.

Firstly, the cancelation notification..... It takes me around 3 hours to get from where I live in Ottawa to the bus stop at St. Laurent station, so I usually leave early. However, the cancelation email is not sent out until 1 hour before departure..... At that time I am almost there at the station. Which means I need to spend another 3 hours to get back home.... I can't even imagine the people who don't have a place to stay in Ottawa.

Secondly, the customer service is horrible. It takes them forever to answer the email send to them. And they don't even answer the question. The answer is some random copied and pasted message from their Q and A on their website. Their customer service phone call is even worst, not only did I have to wait multiple hours for a callback but the customer service representative don't know anything. I ask them if they can confirm a time for a trip that won't be canceled but all they can say is "I don't know" or wait for the email...... THAT IS SENT OUT 1 HOUR before departure !!!

Overall Flixbus is probably better or train......

Mi viaje era desde Orlando a Miami: La dirección de partida no es Clara. Llegue al lugar mencionado por el GPS y no era allí. Era en un parqueadero en una zona alejada del Mall a 15 min caminando de la dirección indicada en los tiquetes! Pedimos el bus, a pesar que nos vieron correr como locos, no nos esperaron

My daughter had to stand in the cold for 3 hours waiting for a Megabus from Reading to Manchester. Their communications were inaccurate or non existant. They blame traffic and rail strikes but I blame them for not communicating properly so people are left literally out in the cold.

Canceled my ticket right before the trip.
Make customers panic and book the wrong ticket so that they don't give refund.

My mother, elderly 88 y/o, was left behind when she went in to use the restroom. Passengers informed the driver and he had no compassion. An hour a half before my sister spoke with the driver and wanted to make sure my mother was in close proximity for the very reason and still was very negligent. The store clerk told us that our mother was very shaken in a way that he was concerned with her possibly having a stroke or heart attack. This is unacceptable. We have a picture and a small video of the driver.

Racist driver with extremely uneducated attitude

Took 4 trips with Megabus between Montreal, Toronto and Niagara.
The buses left on time but they all arrived at the destination late by 1hour.
While coming back from Niagara to Toronto, not having known better, I booked the bus that takes stops on the way. The extra stops made the bus arrive late by 1 hour for a distance that was only supposed to be 2 hours.
Also, the instructions of the bus’s departure location are very unclear. Tickets usually only say “bus terminal” without providing any pin code or lane address. Very hard to navigate to the right spot.
The wifi wasn’t working on any of the buses. Don’t count on getting wifi on this bus.
Overalll, the bus was only $30 cheaper than via rail but for a significant uncomfortable service. I wouldn’t choose this option again. I’d rather choose carpool in desperate times.

In addition- my friend had taken this bus service between London to montreal during a snow storm. The bus had technical difficulties on the way which caused the bus windshield to not have enough vision. However, the bus driver kept driving the same damaged bus till montreal at snail pace. I don’t know if these buses are regularly maintained.

I needed a late bus to return from Philadelphia to NY on 11/24 Thanksgiving day. Megabus had an 8:20pm bus so I paid online and received confirmation and a reservation number for it. Late on 11/22, I received an e-mail that the trip was cancelled and therefore so was my reservation and that I could reschedule or get a refund. I went online to reschedule and the only time available was at 2:30 (which was the time I was arriving in Philadelphia)! So I had to go for the refund.

WARNING - - Only the ticket price will be refunded ($19.99) NOT THE PROCESSING FEE of $4. So even though MEGABUS CANCELLED MY trip, I got stuck paying $4.00 for a trip that never took place. OUTRAGEOUS!!!
