When I signed up for a series of six matches, I was impressed with the thoroughness of my intake interview. I wasn't talking with my "personal matchmaker" but with a slick saleswoman who knew the right buttons and phrases to push. After that, there were no more personal meetings, not even a zoom call. My first matchmaker left the company within a few months. She was replaced by another one, who also didn't stick around very long. This should have been a red flag! I was never offered a chance to meet either women, so they're all relying on notes. A third matchmaker was a young man. We only communicated by phone and the feedback forms the company requests after each date. Supposedly this is their method for refining a client's desires and wishes in a match.

Not one of the six really came close to what I was hoping to meet. My guess is that they screen for age, area code and height. The rest is pure luck. In my area, and age group, there are many more single women than men. I was trusting my matchmakers to be more selective than I, with the added advantage that they had a much larger pool to select from. That turned out not to be the case.

The phone calls I had with the last two matchmakers were uncomfortable, as I was blamed for not provding feedback. Which I did.

I've delt with other matchmakers as I was on their database. These others are more respectful, thorough and provide more hands on service than The Matchmaking Company. All these others provide at least one photo of their proposed date, allowing one to accept or not. I'm not one to go on a total blind date. My time is worth more to me than that. The Matchmaking Company's policy is no photos. They operate on a hope and a prayer methodology.

In sum, three matchmakers in two years. No photos. No meetings. No zoom. Little internal communcations between matchmakers. Most dates were way off the mark. Argumentative conversations. Passing the blame back to the client. High fees.

If you feel you need the services of a professional matchmaker, there are other options out there. Avoid this one!

So far I have been very dissatisfied with their service. The 3 men I have met have not at all had qualities that I had asked for. The one who seemed to really want to see me again was never heard from again. I feel as though I have been scammed. I have never made it to 2 dates, let alone 3!! I am truly heart sick to think I spent all this money for nothing.

So I paid 7,000 to this matchmaking company who promised 12 “ introductions “ a year. It’s now year 3 and I’ve had 4. A woman named Rachel has reached out to me 3 times in the past year. Told me she had introductions and then sent email saying those women were unavailable or other excuses. Then she called yesterday and said “ I have an introduction and I’m now convinced that these are just made up by this company to appease me. I am saying do not put your $$$$ into this match making company. You will lose out. I’ve had more dates on Facebook dating which is free.

Very expensive for a company that offers few matches but will be glad to take your money. It’s a scam. Stay away.

I really appreciated Irene taking the time to get to know me so she could find someone with similar interests, values, and personality. That isn’t always an easy task, but she did a great job! I am having so much fun with the gentleman she matched me with!

the Matchmaking Company didn't fulfill their promises made during my initial screening - and they refused to offer any refund once I realized it was a scam. The "matchmakers" are women in the Sacramento area who never meet a client in person, have no idea what people look like - and have no knowledge about what a client is looking for. No attempt was made to confirm client statements regarding their physical ability, health, interests, hobbies, sports, income, etc. I was never introduced to a healthy, attractive woman with any shared interests that I stated up front such as golf, scuba, tropical travel, etc. From the beginning I was reluctant to accept any of the matches offered, and I always regretted it when I agreed to meet somebody. On-line dating sites are much better in terms of learning something about a prospective date up front. Matchmaking Company offers zero value added and is a complete waste of time and money.

I had a kind, considerate, empathetic matchmaker, who set me up to meet 5 women. One of them was wonderful lady, so down to earth, and so so considerate of everyone and everything. She’s a pleasure to talk. We had a short conversation when we called each other the first time on May 17; but since then, we rarely spend less than an hour on the phone every day since we’ve met. We’ve had coffee together, dinner on Fourth of July, went to the yearly Polynesian festival, went out for dinner and to listen to music, watched TV…. We are so very comfortable with each other. This is a GREAT matchmaking service.

I tried MatchmakingCompany because I liked the idea of a more traditional approach to dating. The thought of having a service focused on finding compatible people sounded more appealing than just endlessly swiping through random profiles. Sites like RCompass.in make it easier to find genuine users and focus on conversations that actually have a chance to become something meaningful. I was hoping a matchmaking service would feel more thoughtful and personalized

MatchMaking is a total scam and a complete waste of money!

I paid thousands of dollars for a service that promised to bring me highly qualified, optimized matches, specifically and professionally picked for me, based on my specific criteria. Even with all of my concerns and reservations, I was told “we have been in business for 40 years and you just need to trust us, trust the process, and you will be very happy”.

This program costs several thousand dollars and that is just to go in to this blindly. If you want to see pictures of your matches first, that will cost you a couple thousand dollars more for that package.

I spent almost two hours with MatchMaking, answering their questions, telling them about me, who I am, what I am looking for, interests, etc. and its like they were not even listening. My matches were NOTHING like what I was looking for. I am an athletic guy with a thin build so I had clearly stated that I am interested in petite, thin, or athletic women. I had even emailed my matchmaker with pictures of my last couple girlfriends and several other pictures of women that I am or would be attracted to. My matches were not any of these in any way. Not even close. I am not at all interested in heavy, thick, big boned, or a few extra pounds. That is not what I am looking for. Am I being picky? Yes, I am. Absolutely. I am looking for a beautiful woman that I want to spend the rest of my life with. I was told “…but you scored a 95 in our system and had some common interests so it should have been a great match”.

One match was in the system for 5 days and one match was in the system for 2 days. Whether they fit my criteria or not, it was basically, “well, here is a new girl. Lets give him this one and see how it goes”.

My first three matches asked me about my career in real estate. I am not, was not, do not, nor am I wanting to get into real estate. Because I had mentioned to matchmaking during the interview process that I owned a duplex that I rehabbed and rented, real estate somehow became my full time profession. It took three matches and three phone calls to MatchMaking to finally have that removed from my profile.

I had left a lengthy voicemail for my matchmaker about my frustrations, not having my information correct (after repeated requests) and not getting the quality of matches I was told I would. They had one last chance and one more match to go.

Now explain to me how this is OK….

I am Christian man, a Conservative man, never been married, brought up in a Cristian Reformed church, went to a Christian school, go to church every week, strong in my faith and looking for someone to match that energy and join me in that part of my life. And yet, somehow, because we scored very high in the system, I was matched with a Russian, Democrat, Atheist who is twice divorced and lives 45 minutes away from me.

“But you both scored very high in our system and you shared some common interests” is what I was told. And “we only provide you with matches. We cannot guarantee you will have a relationship or fall in love. That is up to the individuals”.

Basically your information is put into a computer and given a score regardless of common sense or any personal opinion or input.

This process was NOT what I was led to believe. I paid THOUSANDS of dollars for this service and this is absolutely not the expectation I had or was given. And because they do not offer refunds, their only suggestion was to buy additional matches as they continue to “learn and define” who I am looking for.

You are out of your mind thinking I am going to give you MORE money so you can continue to “learn” about what I want. Absolutely not!

And the only four and five star reviews you see online are because of the friendly staff and nothing to do with the matches they received. Of course they are going to be friendly when they are trying to get that much money from you. Once you sign the contract, that money is GONE.

hey didn't find even one match for me. On the day I attended their office in WC and signed up for their service, the company representative assured me that they had many highly qualified professional men in their database who would be a good match for me. They specifically stated that, given my age and circumstances, it would not be difficult to find suitable matches and that introductions would be begin promptly. Based on these representations, I agreed to purchase their service and was charged $3500 the same day. However, nearly 3 months have passed, and the company has not introduced a single potential match to me. None of the promises or representations made during the sales process have materialized. The service I was led to believe I was purchasing has not been provided. I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with this experience. I paid a substantial amount based on specific assurances regarding the availability of suitable matches and the company's ability to provide introductions. To date, they have failed to deliver the promised services.

My coach Nancy has been wonderful and helpful. She took time to get to know me and I feel like she gets that it's difficult to enter the dating world at age 68 after being married for 45 years. I trust her judgement and feel comfortable expressing myself with her. I know I am in a safe place to explore the next chapter of my life. She's the perfect combination of professionalism and kindness.

The screening was an asset, however the first 2 females did not check ANY of my boxes. It seems like the first 2 were just given to me to give them someone to date, but not for me at all. The 3rd one checked all my boxes and now, one-year later we are married .

Very informative. Responsive. All questions were answered. Friendly encounter. I wanted to utilize a local company that I can actually speak to in person.

Awesome experience. Money well spent. The matchmakers and the dating coaches worked very hard with me to help me be successful.

For other current or potential customers, please remember that being a matchmaker is a very hard job with high burnout. They can't manufacture a perfect match. They do their utmost best to match clients.

In my case, I needed help to be a good match for others - I was doing many things wrong that sabotaged my desire to find love. So they directed me to their relationship coaching service.

From other client feedback about me, they were able to help me see how I needed to change.

Because of their help, I found true love.

For those current and future clients, this is a process. Be open minded and patient. Don't expect perfection because that's an unreasonable expectation.

You're paying a premium for their services. Trust their process. Your outcome will largely depend on you.

It is a very expensive service that gives you a limited number of matches. These are totally blind dates based on what the company picks. They don't even use your preferences. You never get to see or pick your dates and they're usually at least 30 minutes away. A complete waste of money and time!

This company is a scam fraudulent company targeting unsuspecting Reno locals. Please search the case RSC2026-000598 in Reno Justice Court for the open case. I only hope if you’re searching this you have not met with or done anything with this fraudulent horrific company. I will be working to ensure everyone in the area knows the terrible company this is. They changed their name from Sierra Matchmakers after repeated horrible reviews to try to get away from their notorious reputation. This is a nationwide scam ring.

There are Nevada legal requirements about concealing material facts, giving misleading information and high pressure tactics.

I cancelled same day within hours without their sales rep ever validating my identity which they state is a strict requirement to membership so obviously no services provided and they still charged my card 4 days after, 3k and then after being emailed called sent certified mail tried to decline cancellation. I live in Washoe and will repost the case number so you can be sure to look up the facts yourself. BEWARE of this scam business

Nevada NRS 598.0915(5) — a person engages in a deceptive trade practice if they knowingly make “a false representation as to the characteristics, ingredients, uses, benefits, alterations or quantities of goods or services for sale.” Corroborating reviews from other customers with the same complaint help establish this was knowing — a pattern, not a one-off exaggeration.

2. Misrepresentation about when the contract took effect

NRS 598.0923(2) — a deceptive trade practice includes when a business “fails to disclose a material fact in connection with the sale… of services.” Being told the contract wouldn’t be effective until the next business day, then hearing something contrary once you tried to cancel before that date, is a misrepresentation of a material fact about your own agreement — separate from any statutory cancellation window.

This also stands on its own as a basic contract-formation argument outside any statute: their own agent’s statement about the effective date is part of the deal, and you acted (cancelled) within the window she gave you.

3. Zero services rendered

No specific consumer-protection statute needed here — this is ordinary breach of contract and unjust enrichment under Nevada common law: they took payment, provided nothing, and didn’t refund despite a timely cancellation attempt.

4. Remedy / private right of action

NRS 598.0915–598.0925, enforced through the consumer-fraud private right of action, lets a prevailing party recover damages plus costs and reasonable attorney’s fees — meaningful leverage in small claims or beyond. affairs

I have been matched with an amazing person. Even though we live fairly close we didn’t frequent the same places but because our matchmaker set us up together we have a great relationship and are now in a committed relationship and enjoy our time together. He is a very kind, caring and an affectionate man.
We spend lots of time together doing fun things and we get along very well. I was skeptical about meeting someone this way but I am so very happy that I did this.

I have had the privilege to sign up with The Match Making company as a follower of Christ, widower with 6 children, and a business owner. Signing up at first, felt to be an irresponsible way to use my money since I am not in any rush to find my partner. But I realized that my emotional capacity is limited under my circumstances, and I would be better able to concentrate on my 3 main responsibilities (listed above) if I could have a match making company help sort out a lot of possibilities so I didn’t have to. They have an understanding of who I am as a person, not just what I do, my interests, and my cool photos. Also, I became aware that some people are interested in dating but not committing to a long term relationship. So I am grateful for The Match Making Company to do exactly as their name suggests but also provide me with dating and relationship coaching. Adrianna is my match maker.
