What a refreshing experience: professional, polite and caring staff. From the moment I arrived until I left, the staff supported me throughout the process with detailed explanations. I couldn't fault the service, and the range of optical options is impressive. I initially thought I would pay a lot more for superior service and products, but I was surprised by the competitive pricing. If I could give an extra star for the service, I would. My appointment was with the London Colney branch of M&S who were efficient, knowledgeable and welcoming. They did not rush any part of the process from reception staff and optician, to the advice and help of the other staff. The same occurred when I collected the glasses. Well done London Colney branch. I have used this branch for a couple of years and recommend them. I received no incentive to use this optician.

My glasses broke after just over two years, and M&S refused to fix them. The issue is clearly a frame defect not wear and tear. The optician at the Llanelli branch was more interested in selling me and eye test - so much so she tried to do it before even looking at my issue.

Their argument is essentially that two years is a substantial amount of time for a pair of glasses, which would be funny if it wasn’t so ridiculous. I still have a pair that’s nearly 20 years old and hasn’t broken. Instead of standing behind the product, they dismissed the complaint, made assumptions they couldn’t back up, and offered to sell me another frame. For a company that prides itself on quality, the response was embarrassing.

Also don’t attempt to fix it yourself before hand because they will use that as leverage to use against you and double down on refusing to help you. M&S should be ashamed to be associated with this company.

For many years my proscription from other opticians has been wrong apparently. I found out today I only need help looking at computers and phone tablets my distance is fine. All these years being sold varifocals and not needing them. No wonder I could never get on with them. Thanks to M&S opticians; great job.

i have been going to m&s opticians for a few years and have always had excellent service, The staff are friendly and are take time with any examination.

I went to the M&S in Culverhouse cross, Cardiff and was greeted with friendly face and luckily they were able to for me in right away.
Girl took me to seating area where she took all my details then i was then taken for a pre test to check the pressure and the back of eye.
Everything was done very professional and with care.
I then had to sit back in the waiting area for short time before I met the optician .
The optician was a lovely lady who was very professional, gave great advice and support about the prescription glasses I needed. Very friendly, professional and compassionate.
I already knew which glasses frame I wanted so that was easy.
I then sat with another gentleman who then took measurements and went through all the different prices, explaining which would be best suited for me and for the best price for my needs.
Was super helpful, respectful and no pressure.
Payment was made and advised I would be contacted as soon as glasses were ready. Advised up to 2 weeks but normally much quicker than that.
Would highly recommend going to this optician’s again. Superb service, friendly and professional staff.

I had an eyetest and choose new glasses at M&S Opticians, Bluewater. I encountered 3 members of staff (one was the Optician) and they were all absolutely lovely. They were all thorough, competent and did not rush the process in any way. They were extremely generous with their time & extremely efficient. Excellent customer service, a great experience.

Great friendly service

The Optician was fantastic and very thorough. However, what lets the service down is the length of time it takes to get your glasses (in my case 4 weeks). I’ve previously used an independent Optician and have had new glasses within 7-10 days of ordering, so, guess where I’m heading back to next time!

Visited the local Colliers Wood branch for an eye test. The actual eye test was excellent. But from then on it was all a pretty poor experience and I regretted picking M&S.

First off after spending 1.5 hours on an eye test I ordered two pairs of glasses. Went through the upselling process etc. Then they couldn't accept payment. I was told to go home and call them with my card details (why they couldn't take them face to face is a mystery) and that I had 40 minutes to do that or my order would be cancelled. If I didn't need the glasses urgently I would have walked away then and there.

Their buy one get one half price which is plastered everywhere is misleading and did not apply to me when I asked for it, even though I bought two pairs. Shame on M&S for this clumsy sales tactic. If anyone from M&S marketing reads this - it just means you only get one purchase from me because from now on I do not believe or trust you anymore! Other opticians practice this truthfully without loads of T&C's applied.

A week later I was contacted to pick up my glasses without being told only one pair was ready. I tried them on and said that they felt wonky. Now without my glasses I could see that the arm was bent in two places, by the hinge and one arm itself was curved. Two of the staff tried to tell me that they were fine, one even started bending them saying 'it's just this' indicating the eye part which was actually the only bit that was not defective. I put them against a white surface and kept pointing out that one side was straight, one was not. I had to insist that they got replaced - which they had to send away for that to happen. Pretty sure Vision Express for example can correct frames in store while you wait. It must mean their staff are not trained.

So I left the store without any glasses. A few days later was contacted again. I asked them do you have both pairs to which they replied 'no' and waited another few days telling them to call me when both are available.

All a bit exhausting really and quite stressful when you lose faith that they can deliver on their service. I recommend trying another opticians, which is a shame as the eye test was really very good.

I have never had such a thorough examination of my eyes! All aspects of eye health were covered, not just visual acuity. All the tests were explained in a clear and easy to understand way. I appreciated the tips on improving the health of my eyes. The tests were done by a delightful young man called Marjan in Exeter, who was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable.

Store cancelled my appointment but neglected to tell me wasting my time and half a days annual leave from my work. Prices for lenses (even in the £50 frames) double that of the other high street stores.

The optican was really professional and realistic to my situation.

The downside is I thought the range of specs was limited and the cost of varifocals were expensive.

Excellent service from the whole team, particular shout out to Gabriella, Sarah and Kishan! Knowledgeable and well trained.
Visited the opticians in the Derbion shopping centre.

I had a very good experience very modern equipment and lovley staff very helpful

Visited the store last week with a broken arm on my glass. The staff tried to fix the damage, however it was unrepairable. They kindly rang the factory to see if the frame was available. good news, I ordered replacement frame. The Staff and service was impeccable.
