Good Overall Experience, but Be Prepared for the Insurance Upsell
My overall experience with renting a car from Locauto Palermo was good and I would use their services again. I booked and paid for the car online, so the “paperwork” when picking it up was relatively easy and quick. I was even given a higher-class car than the one I had initially booked, which was a nice bonus.
From this perspective, everything was good.
On the other hand, while I understand that this is probably part of their job, I felt that there was an attempt to push additional insurance directly through the rental company. For some customers, this may make sense, but I had already arranged and purchased adequate full insurance in advance. Furthermore, the price of their insurance alone was almost 90% of the total amount I had paid for the rental and my existing insurance combined.
I do not like this approach as a customer. In any case, it seems to be a common practice among many car rental companies in Sicily. I have seen customer reviews mentioning similar experiences with several other companies.
So, I politely declined the offer and stuck with the insurance I had already arranged. Don't let yourself be pushed into something you don't need.

The process was very good up until the drop-off. Although no charges were applied since we purchased full insurance, scratches that were not caused by us were added to the report. They had us sign without showing the details of the report. In fact, even though the attendant never even walked over to the right side of the vehicle during the drop-off, they marked that there was a deep scratch there.

Ottima posizione e personale qualificato
La posizione vicino alla stazione di Notarbartolo è perfetta per chi vuole prendere l'auto e imboccare subito l'autostrada. L'auto era nuovissima, pulita e confortevole. Non abbiamo avuto alcun problema durante il viaggio. Mi è piaciuto molto il modo in cui lavora il personale (gentilissimo). Il contratto presenta anche uno schema con tutti i danni all'auto e questo mi ha reso più tranquillo in viaggio.
