The petrol tank wasn’t 100% filled, and the guy said us was completely filled. The car hadn’t been cleaned, we found glass bottles in the back, and some areas dirty.

I strongly advise avoiding Locauto
I strongly advise avoiding Locauto, especially their Milano Centrale branch. I had a terrible experience involving a security issue, a fraudulent charge, and an incredibly frustrating customer service loop that has completely ignored me for over a week.
1. Unsafe Environment / Theft
While I was standing at the counter in their closed office, my wallet was stolen right out of my backpack. I was handing my driver's license to the representative, and a man standing next to me used a white t-shirt to conceal his hands and steal my wallet. The most frustrating part? The Locauto representative actually noticed this guy, knew he wasn't a legitimate customer, and still did absolutely nothing to ask him to leave the office. They allow suspicious people to linger right next to paying customers.
2. Fake Fuel Charges & Frustrating Bureaucracy
I returned my rental with a completely full tank, and the drop-off attendant explicitly told me everything was fine. Despite this, I was charged an extra €53.73 for fuel. When I saw the charge, I immediately went to a Locauto representative at the airport. She actually agreed with me and admitted it was an error, but then said she was completely powerless to fix it on the spot. She told me I had to deal with their online customer service to get my money back, which was incredibly annoying.
3. Ignored by Customer Service
To make matters worse, it has been over a week since I emailed their online customer service team with my rental agreement as instructed. I have been completely ghosted. No refund, no apology, no reply.
Do yourself a favor and rent from a more reputable company that actually protects its customers and honors its pricing.

We are also deeply sorry to hear that you were the victim of a pickpocket at Milan Central Station. While tourists are often advised to remain vigilant in busy transit hubs, our staff unfortunately had no way of identifying the individual as a thief or anticipating their actions at the time. In sum, we should have read the google reviews. We came across all the same issues that the other customers faced.It was almost impossible to rent the car since they requested a credit card with driver's name, which was not possible since nowadays most card do not have names or numbers at the back. We almost lost $500 because of that, we even tried to get a refund but the staff was making it so difficult for us to cancel the reservation or request a refund. After a couple of hours we were able to rent a car, however I would not recommend this rental option. There was nothing wrong with the cars, but it seems like they are trying to scam people into booking online and then presenting multiple "issues" at the front desk for pick up.
