Hotel arranged drop off and pick up and car rental made every step so simple. Car was very nice and exceeded our expectations. Thankful hotel has such a good working relationship with car rental and made it seamless, no worries. Communication with car rental was also very good and simple

Everything went great, new car.
Only in Florence we had to wait about one hour to get a car, because on Monday morning, at 12.00 there were only one Locauto woman behind the counter, and about 15 people waiting.
Location is good, but on Google Maps it shows not the office, but the garage on the neighbour street, so please double check

Great service at check in counter and really nice car. Close to the train station . Walkable.

**Florence Store**

**Pick-up:** I went directly to the parking lot indicated on the voucher, where I was informed that I first had to go to the rental office. This was not clearly stated on the booking voucher and caused unnecessary confusion.

**Staff:** The staff were friendly and provided all the necessary information.

**Car:** The car had high mileage but was generally in good condition. However, the luggage compartment cover was damaged, making it difficult to load and organize our luggage.

I was charged **€88.93** more than expected, and I do not believe this charge is justified.

If this additional fee was applied because I returned the car at **5:08 PM instead of 4:00 PM**, I would like to explain why I was delayed.

The return location provided in the rental agreement was unclear. I entered the address exactly as stated in the contract, but once I arrived near the train station, there were no signs indicating where the Locauto return parking area was located.

As a result, I mistakenly entered a different rental car return area. I spent considerable time there asking for directions, but the information I received was inconsistent. I then drove around the neighborhood, stopped several times to ask for more directions, and eventually found the correct parking area.

When I finally arrived, the parking lot was completely empty, with no staff present. Fortunately, another Italian customer was experiencing the same problem. They called your office, and we were instructed to leave the car in the parking lot and take the keys to the office inside the train station.

At the office, I simply handed over the keys. I was not given any receipt or written confirmation that the vehicle had been returned, which is unacceptable.

Because of the unclear return instructions and the lack of signage, the delay was entirely caused by your procedures—not by my negligence. Therefore, I strongly dispute the additional **€88.93** charge and request that it be removed.

This experience has been extremely disappointing. Unless this issue is resolved, I will not rent from your company again, and I intend to submit a formal complaint to Booking.com describing my experience.

The lady dealing with the handing out of cars was great: quick, efficient, did not try to sell additional features that I had already booked, and was kind enough to check between customers if I was in the right place.
Oddly enough, I had a different address on my booking confirmation than the actual location of the Locauto office.

takes a long time to get a car, waiting around, but I guess it's high season. The price is rather high for a basic car.

They were very accomodating in making the vehicle available to us although we went to the incorect location! Drop off was easy!

The car worked great and the woman who helped us get the car was amazing. However, when we came back into Florence, the directions by Google Maps and avoiding the ZTL lanes became extremely difficult and we asked the male agent to help us. He basically dismissed us and was not helpful in an extremely challenging situation. The one way streets were not allowing us to get back to the parking garage. We asked for assistance with directions as we drove to the office with the car and the man was dismissive. When we saw him at the parking garage eventually he was sarcastic and rude!

Efficient check in process. Car review & inspection was good. Nice car w great A/C (during EU heatwave)! Easy return. Nice employees.

Difficulty finding return location in Florence. Better directions for return would be helpful.

It was ok pick up and drop off a little hard to find had to walk to garages then trying to find taxi I have mobility issues it was very hard with hot weather also

The car was great and we had no trouble with it.
Pick up was easy, but we were in the office for about an hour because it was a very slow process.

Florence Pick up was all easy no problems other than only 1 staff who had to deal with 10+ people waiting. Easy drop off in Bari. Car was well maintained.

The lady at the front desk was really helpful as well as the guy that handed the car. We had no issues whatsoever. Good service

The negative review concerns the treatment we received and the deception by the staff at the agreed-upon garage when we returned the car. We arrived at the garage 4 minutes before the deadline (at no extra charge), and the receptionist was deliberately chatting with someone before telling us we would have to pay a €20 surcharge for leaving the car after the deadline (this was at 7:01 PM), with a less-than-friendly smile (it seemed to be a common tactic). After complaining to the receptionist, a Locauto employee who arrived some time later and whom we assume was part of the rental agency's office, and finally to the garage manager, we paid the surcharge.
This happened on January 5th—thank goodness it's a time of celebration and "spirituality"!
The car pickup, which we arranged at Bologna airport, was fine, the car was fine, and the price was fine. The staff at Florence... I'll spare you the comment. I'll just say that there are always people "smarter" than you; I just hope you run into them someday.
