Do NOT try their trial lesson!
I tried it only once years ago, and I have been receiving repeated marketing and harassment calls for the past 5 years. Terrible experience. Extremely aggressive sales practices.

My time instructing at LINGOACE left me thoroughly disappointed, as it quickly became evident that the organization has little genuine regard for its educators. Through dedication and steady effort, I had established a reliable group of recurring learners. However, when a medical situation in my family forced me to reschedule a handful of sessions—without ever breaking their policy on unexcused absences—they abruptly reassigned every one of my pupils elsewhere, offering neither warning nor reasoning. On top of that, I eventually realized that parents aren't actually the ones selecting and reserving lessons for their children; rather, LINGOACE staff make those decisions, meaning learners are distributed to instructors based purely on what the company decides. Because they keep hiring far more instructors than there are students to go around, receiving any learners feels completely arbitrary and unstable. The compensation model is equally poor—they deduct pay for nearly everything: showing up even sixty seconds past the start time, marking a student as absent without official notice, and even when a child cancels at the very last moment, you still get penalized.
Furthermore, the administrative staff frequently come across as dismissive and unpleasant in their written replies, and they tend to overlook instructor questions unless answering somehow serves their own interests. They never once considered the lasting bond between a teacher and a student—or the connection to the student's family—when they removed me from that school over such flimsy justifications. It's as if they have no interest in real people teaching; they'd prefer lifeless machines. But the reality is that genuine educators develop affectionate, compassionate, human relationships with their learners—the very thing no robot could ever replicate.

My experience teaching at LINGOACE has been deeply disappointing, as it became clear that the company does not truly value its teachers. I had built a solid base of regular students through hard work and consistency. Still, when I had to cancel a few classes due to a family health emergency—without ever violating their no-show policy—all of my students were suddenly taken away from me without any notice or explanation. To make matters worse, I came to understand that it is not the parents who book classes for their children, but LINGOACE administrators, meaning students are assigned to teachers entirely at the company’s discretion. With far more teachers recruited than available students, getting assigned students feels highly subjective and unreliable. The pay structure is also terrible—deductions are applied for everything: being one minute late, pursuing a no-show, and even if a student cancels at the last minute, you still face a penalty. In addition, the administrators are consistently rude in their email responses and frequently ignore teachers’ concerns unless the issue directly benefits them, leaving you feeling unheard and undervalued.

I like the convenience of online class and the teachers are well trained with interactive learning materials.
My son loves the teacher from LingoAce. The laoshi is very encouraging and patient, and make extra effort in teaching.
My son has shown improvement after 3 months with LingoAce.
Thank you for the support with my kid's mandarin leaning from teachers Ms Shu Wang and Ms Anmy. I really appreciate their effort and dedication. My kid has been enjoying his lessons and we've notices a lot progress. he is becoming a bit more confident in speaking and wirting in Chinese. Highly recommended.
Great communication and follow ups. APP is easy to use. Teacher is friendly.
Really good. The teacher was really easy-going which helped with focus and learning
prompt interaction with the liaison and they also keep us posted on every progress timely.
Online classes with MOE syllabus. Enhance my child Chinese progress.
One big con is that they assign an admin to tutors, some admin have been documented for their very rude demeanours and taking out their disinterest in work, personally on freelance tutors as the communication is not face-to-face and often ignores time-off requests as well as inquiries into unexpected penalties.
It is hoped that Lingoace could respect the tutors, they ovework them as if they are ants there in the company with them in China. They are not in China and in many cases, they explain through the interview process that this is a part-time job, this is not mean't to be a full-time work around the clock gig. If that is the kind of employee you want, the salary shouldn't be 6.7 USD with an unattainable standard to reach higher. Do not force employees to receive salary ONLY through Payoneer, this application/software charges employees to get their own salaries. This has been edited as lingo ace didn’t appreciate the first edition of this review, this is how petty this company is. Guess they are desperate for desperate freelancers.

William was the best course coordinator. He shared very clear instructions and information on Lingoace Chinese course and arranged an excellent Chinese teacher that was very experience and knowledgable for my K2 daughter. Thank you William!
The tutors are structured and patient. Customer service support is strong too. Responsive and addressed my concerns and queries well. My 2 kids prefer the same tutor and Aria, the representative managed to organize and matched our timing. Recommend!
I used to work here. This is my opinion as a former teacher
What is the best part of working at the company?
The students are almost always lovely and they work very hard
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
- The way they treat the children. Call me naive (I've only ever worked with adults before), but I was shocked by how poorly the company responded to signs of physical abuse. I know there's not much they can do in these situations, BUT the way they talked about these situations really gave me the ick - in my opinion they talked like they cared more about the loss of money than the child in question's welfare. The final straw for me was when I reported that one of my students was being slapped and my manager said "We have no right to interfere in how parents educate their children. We can only remind their parents to use more appropriate methods."(Again, I have screenshots to prove this). Anybody with any smidgeon of safeguarding training knows what a poor response this is, this is like number 1 on the list of things not to do. I understand this is a common problem for this industry, but this company seems particularly bad because they always seem to take the parents' side. Moreover, I despise the ways they make you in the ways rate the child (with stars, like they're a restaurant), and because of how they encourage you to nitpick the child's performance by offering immediate feedback in lessons. They also expect you to teach all the content to fit perfectly into the 25 minutes regardless of how long the slideshow is (some are 50 slides plus) or how difficult it is for the child. I have had lessons where very young children were slapped by their parents on camera, were close to tears, or were left totally alone with me a stranger without parental supervision. Again, might be naive, but this is not the kind of environment I want to work in.
- The pay. Definitely do not work for them if you British, Canadian, or European: you will be earning below minimum wage.
Be aware that when you get into this job you will only be making 13 USD and hour (or less). This is, I understand, on the low end for this industry.
If you are more than one minute late you are docked half a lesson's pay. If you are more than two minutes late you are docked 20 USD. I have screenshots of company policy to prove this. There is no monetary compensation for if a student cancels on you last minute (i.e., morning of the lesson). If they don't show up, you only get half the lesson fee, which is $3. (These are normal for the industry, but they are still poor practice in my opinion.) Apparently you used to be paid for reviewing homework - not anymore. Every day I would teach, I would have to have a low end estimate of what I would make - there were often times that I would make only about half of what I thought I was going to make because of last minute student cancellations. If you must work in this industry, there are many other companies that in my experience are far less punitive (I recommend BlingABC, they pay about the same as LingoAce but they don't deduct).
Lastly, in my country for a little while they lied about how much you get paid on here (they said "from £13.46", when actually it should be "from £7 an hour". I do not think it is possible, or it least it seems very difficult, to make £13.00 an hour at this company). I reported them recently and they changed it. I have screenshots to prove this too.
There are many other issues (please heed the other reviews) but this alone should be enough to dissuade you from working for them, especially if you're in one of the countries I listed above.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
In my experience, poor. In the past, they have sent me some replies to emails that I have considered very rude (when I was appealing my first deduction, they refused it with a three word message that just said "please do math". Again, I screenshotted this). Also I think they are very inflexible with the course materials. You must teach everyone the exact same materials the exact same way, even if they are struggling. Having said that, I think the course materials are good.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very stressful. I love teaching, but with this platform, if I have 10 classes booked in I'm almost guaranteed to only get paid for 8 of them due to cancellations or students not showing up. On a bad day less. I have never been paid full fees for all my classes.

Convenient and bite sized classes that are engaging and interactive.
The teacher is very patient and does her best to engage the child by creating a safe space for him to interact with her. I really appreciate how the teacher has help my child not resist trying.
