I recently went on a knitting tour of Scotland. My tour guide, Kirsty, really made the trip. She was warm, knowledgeable, inclusive and organized. The trip overall was excellent. Wonderful classes and great time with some sheep, goats and cows! I would not hesitate to take another trip with knitting tours.com.

The tour guide, Michelle, was great, as was the driver, Senan. All hotels were clean and well appointed. Every class was informative and fun. I met so many lovely people and saw amazing sites. Thank you!

Iconic locations included in the cliffs of Moher and Kylemore Abbey as well as more unusual places such as a working sheep farm. A highlight was the island of Inis oirr and gracious host Una, island was beautiful despite terrible weather.
Unfortunately, the trip coordinator Maria was not as organized and informative before the tour as I had hoped. Despite this I am going back for Scotland this fall. Also teacher Anne O’Malley was not engaging, And to be honest, a bit patronizing. I would not take another class with her

This tour was very well organized and well run and the activities were all interesting, educational, and memorable. The hotels and the food were fabulous! We had some free time as well. I went on my own but quickly made friends. I came home with plenty of yarn and wonderful memories.

This was my third trip coordinated through Knitting Tours. First the guides are exceptional, they know the history, and subsequently the historical threads that weave throughout our journey. Their professionalism behind the scenes, addressing our needs, their respectful prodding to be on time but always aware of time needed to explore. We never rushed, it all seemed to be just right, despite wind, rain and an occasional traffic diversion, both the guide and driver delivered us safely and within expected timelines. The tour itself was full of sights and experiences that were beyond the typical tourist attraction, lunch at a revered golf club, Liz Spillane’s extraordinary home for workshop and tea, Oona’s cafe by the sea for instruction, cooking lessons and St Bridgid’s cross, all of this and more made this memorable journey. And then there’s the yarn, the knitters from all around the world, sharing the memory making with laughter and enthusiasm.

It was very easy to book the tour. The tour itself was amazing. The workshops were very informative and the sight seeing was just beautiful. This was made possible by our tour guide who had a lot of knowledge and was able to provide information on everything we saw and did. Our driver was also very knowledgeable on what we saw in Ireland and this all contributed to a very memorable experience.

Irish Tourism Group is exemplary. For me, as an 86 year old traveling alone the most important feature is not feeling alone. Everyone is so friendly and so focused on their love of knitting. I always feel part of the group.

What a wonderful mix! Barcelona set the stage for a many-faceted Knitting experience. We learned new knitting techniques, saw Gaudi's fabulous architecture, were treated to an amazing Flamenco show, were tempted by irresistible yarn and made friends with adorable with alpacas. Oh yes, and our tour guide was amazing.

I enjoyed my tour very much. We saw some wonderful places in Madrid and Barcelona. Our tour guide Cecília was excellent and took good care of our group. Our driver Christian was also excellent.

I have been on two trips with Knitting Tours and would recommend their products. The first tour was to Scotland including Shetland. The instructors for the classes are well known and respected knitters who were very warm and helpful. We went to historic and cultural places that were beautiful and interesting. The guide was very informative and helpful. My most recent tour was their first quilting tour. We started in Edinburgh and went south to York and the Lakes District in northern England. The hotels were very comfortable and the food was good. I really enjoyed the three classes we had. The teachers were thorough and very helpful. I learned techniques that I intend to use in my future quilting projects. If you want a quilting or knitting tour of Ireland or Great Britain I would highly recommend this company.

I reached out to KnittingTours.com to help me put together my dream knitting trip to Scotland - including Shetland. I was putting the trip together for a group of Male Knitters I belong to, and therefore, I wanted to make a a few changes to get more of a male perspective to Scotland and Shetland. Fabulous service with attention to detail. Every Ireland experience was fun and well planned. This trip showed the beauty of Ireland with special attention to the wool industry ( knitters will not want to miss this) .

The entire experience was wonderful; they struck a perfect balance between activities and time to wonder on our own around the towns and points of interest. Our guides were exceptionally knowledgeable and were able to bring every place we stopped to life for us with their enthusiasm. Clearly, they enjoy sharing their home with visitors.

My husband and I participated in the men's knitting tour of Scotland and Shetland (he's the knitter, I'm the non-knitter enabler!), and it was an extraordinary experience. We were looking forward to the trip, but had no idea what a great experience was awaiting us. It was incredibly well organized from start to finish, and everything was planned with care, while also leaving good time for enjoying various sites on our own. Our tour guide, Kirsty, was beyond good--she was knowledgeable, hilarious, incredibly well organized, and adaptive; I honestly don't think we could have had a better or more personable guide for the unique travel experience that was planned. All the knitters on the tour had great things to say about the craft and artisanal workshops, but even for a non-knitter I thoroughly enjoyed myself and felt fully included and welcome. Every day was filled with new and interesting things, but not so packed that we felt rushed. We had the opportunity to learn a lot about the regions we visited (Kirsty has a Ph.D. in Scottish history and experience as a lecturer, so she was well positioned to answer even our most obscure questions), and we spent a lot of time off the main roads and tourist locations to engage with the country and the people in more genuine ways. Truly couldn't be happier with the tour and would highly recommend both the company and the guide without hesitation or reservation. It was a transformative adventure and one we're keen to do again!
