I agree with all the other reviewers…… I have bought Kenco Rich for years but I now find the latest blend is EXTREMELY POOR TASTE , with dark sludge at the bottom of the coffee. I won’t be buying anymore and the unfortunate thing is I have another full jar I will have to get rid off as I don’t enjoy drinking it anymore.
Why did Kenco feel they had to change the recipe in the beginning…… if something is not broken why try to fix it …..!!!!!!

This household will no longer be buying Kenco Rich - the strange taste along with coffee grains floating on surface and a disgusting powdery sludge at the bottom of the cup has now totally put us off.
Why the hell change a recipe that has been loved for years? Very bad decision on your part Kenco!!

Agree with others that my favourite coffee "improved recipie" is awful. I wont be purchasing anymore.

It seems the coffee has changed. What was once a lovely morning coffee, it now has a powdery sludge at the bottom of the cup, leaves a vile taste on your mouth

Sorry, but I won't be buying again, we've switched to Douwe Egberts !

Kenko Millicano has been the only instant coffee I have enjoyed drinking for years. The new recipe with it's powder texture just does not taste the same.
I will have to get the cafitiere out!

The sludge at the bottom of cup is horrendous. Looks like il have to change my brand. Doesn’t taste the same

After drinking this coffee for well over a decade I recently noticed a change in flavour ( as well as a shrinkage in weight of jar contents).
I initially thought that it was just a bad batch despite never having an issue before. Turns out they have changed the recipe - now it taste bitter, sometimes metallic and never completely dissolves. Good luck with trying to drink it when you are faced with a tar like sludge at the bottom of each drink. Change it back Kenco. Think I will change brands for a while - maybe Kenco will come to their senses again.

Your customer tasting panel were conned if they approved the changes to Kenko Rich recipe. It fails on all accounts, taste and visually to try and say a residue is more akin to ground coffee is covering up for padding out the volume with waste material....Listen to the wider user group and admit you got it wrong (it happens)

Bought my usual Rich coffee. Never again. Ground coffee sludge left in the mug and totally different taste compared to what it was. Won't be buying Kenco again, such a shame this has gone to the dogs.

Scum rises to the top, which is presumably what has happened to the Kenco management as well as the coffee. Sack the lot of them!

We have used Kenco Rich for many years always enjoying a superior cup of instant coffee.
We are no longer going to be buying Kenco after there new recipe change as it is no longer nice to drink.
We cannot believe that paid food science and blend teams thought that this was a good tasting replacement. (I would of done a better job for 10% of there wages)
It now has a bitter taste, a dusty feeling in themouth, and a dark sludge at the bottom of the cup.
Sorry Kenco you've lost us as valued customers along with a lot more.

I have purchased Kenco Rich for many years now, it was my absolute favourite. However with the new jar appears to come a whole new taste and it is AWFUL. The flavour is completely different and now like the cheapest of the cheap, leaving dirty sludge in the bottom of the cup along with a disgusting aftertaste. So disappointed and will no longer be purchasing.

Not impressed with the new coffee at all! I was shocked when I opened the tin. Definitely not as good as the granulated coffee. Need to try other brands after using and enjoying this for years!

I have been drinking kenco smooth for year's and loved it. Now it tastes awful, leaves a horrible after taste and is sludgy at the bottom of the cup. It even smells different. So I have spent nearly £7 on something I am not going to drink.

What’s changed?
Absolutely awful now. I’ve been drinking kenco rich instant coffee for years. I’ve noticed since reducing the size of the jar and the price increase the recipe has completely changed. The taste is awful, doesn’t dissolve properly and leaves a black gritty liquid residue in the bottom of the mug. I will be finding an alternative.

What did you do Kenco ? It tastes awful and leaves sludge in the bottom of the cup. Like it does not dissolve properly. Will use up this jar and find a better alternative coffee. Shame on you for changing it🙄🤯

We have been using Kenco coffee for years and loved it. Until they have changed the blend. It is terrible, the taste is different and is similar to a much cheaper brand of coffee. It leaves a dirty sludge like deposit in the bottom of the mug or cup. Where it was a very lovely realaxing experience I'm afraid it no longer is. My partner whom noticed it first and I will be no longer purchasing Kenco, and are looking for an alternative brand at the moment. Yes by all means if Kenco refers back to the original blend we will be back enjoying it again.

Like pretty much everyone else, we’ve drank Kenco for years & years and have recently stopped buying it due to the changes in its taste & consistency.
It’s so disappointing that Kenco decided to make these changes.

The new recipe is terrible. Bitter and burnt taste. Powdery reside.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has been disappointed by the new Kenco smooth. It's dire. I echo all the sentiments here. From the first mouthful it was just tasteless. I thought the scum left over meant I had a problem with my water. Will be looking for a new brand now.
