Kenco Arvostelua 

Kenco have changed the recipe (presumably to cut costs). The taste has changed for the worse, it now tastes like cheap budget coffee in my opinion. There's now sludge at the bottom of the cup. Will seek out something more premium going forwards.

Having drunk this for many years I was extremely disappointed in the new recipe. It leaves a bitter/ sour taste and a brown sludge in the bottom of the cup. I only realised the recipe had changed when I read the back of the jar! The old recipe was ‘Freeze dried instant coffee nothing else’ and now it’s ‘a blend of freeze dried instant coffee and roast and ground coffee .
In addition ,to make matters worse the jars are 10g less!!
Disgraceful!

Let me know when you go back to the original recipe and sack the idiot who recommended and implemented the change. I can just see them telling the board how they have saved the company 5% on the jar size and changed the recipe to save another 5%. Your sales are about to plummet because it tastes like sh1t

I havnt got a clue what the powers at be at Kenco/Dow Egberts are doing eith Kenco Rich and Kenco Smooth coffee,I have drank both for 20 years,and always enjoyed the taste,but now,there is no taste,it's bland both coffees are awful,you've changed the recipe by spraying the coffee with God knows what,but now you have lost a customer,and no doubt by reading the reviews on here your going to lose a hell of alot more,Kenco was one of the best,now it just tastes like the cheap end supermarket bargain jar but at a premium price,I don't mind paying for quality but I don't like getting ripped of by substandard products as is Kenco Coffee,I gave a one star because I could not go lower because I would of given a zero.

I have been drinking kenco for many many years. Last week i needed a new jar off i went to the store to bye some i could not find the blue top jar on speaking to a sales assistant in store she i formed me that the had changed the jar but the coffee was the same. I took her word for it and put six jars in my shopping as normal. When i got home i notice that the had not only reduced the amount of coffee from 200g to 190g the coffee is not the same there os a scum on the top of the coffee when made which is not very inviting, it tastes different and it leaves a black slug in the bottom of the cup when finish drinking. I am discussed with kenco for changing the blend i know have 6 jars of coffee that need to go in the bin. I understand that company's make things smaller and charge the same price to make more profit but to put a much inferior coffee in the jar is just not acceptable. I will be changing my brand from now on and I will inform all of my friends and family that drink this coffee that it’s disgusting and not to waste their money. So in the long run kenco will be the ones that loose out on revenue because people will think with their feet and change brands shame on you Kenco.

What the devil have you done Kenco? If it was not broken why try to fix it? The new version of Kenco Rich is absolutely disgusting. Scum line around the top of your coffee mug and silt and sludge in the bottom of the cup and it tastes foul. After more than 30 years of buying this coffee I will never buy another jar again. Shame on you.

As I bought the new recipe coffee, I decided I will drink it all to save money,
Even though it’s awful,
To remove the brown sludge from the top I used an absorbent kitchen towel,
This did the trick,
But the flavour of the coffee was bland,
KENCO you cannot sell this as coffee,
More like dishwater,
Unfortunately I bought 2 jars without trying it,
I’ve now bought Nescafé to supplement the taste until it’s all gone,
A refund would be better or I may give it away to a raffle 🤣😏😱

Why,oh why do you interfere with something that has stood the test of time.What you have done to Kenco smooth,it has absolutely ruined my whole experience of enjoying cups of coffee.It's not smooth anymore, It's bitter and that disgusting residue at the bottom of the cup.Don't listen to those stupid f..king money men.They are ruining your brand!!
Smaller jars,more expensive and now a foul tasting coffee.

Drink Kenco Rich and have done for years but noticed with the new jars that it doesn't taste the same - more bitter and doesn't melt properly anymore. Also there is a residue in the cup. Not impressed and will be finding an alternative.

Kenco Rich 9 in the new red top lid is positively terrible. It didn’t dissolve properly and leaves sludge in bottom of cups and it tastes unlike Kenco Rich blue lid that I’ve used for years. Remainder of
purchase will go in the bin! Now what to use? Certainly not Kenco.

not sure why they have changed the coffee but its awful i cant drink it so going to have to find a another brand ive been drinking Kenco for years shame they messed about with it

Kenco Milicano. The original was original. I liked it for its texture, what it looked like in the coffee mug and of course its taste. The new version failes on all counts.

sludgy and bitter, having drunk Kenco rich for over 20 years we will be looking for a new brand. The idiot who gave the go ahead for this new formula should be dismissed immediately

I’ve been drinking and enjoying Kenco for years. What have they done to it?! It’s now a darker almost muddy colour, bitter tasting and leaves scum around the mug. The new recipe makes it taste like a cheap alternative AND the new jars are smaller for the same price. No more Kenco for me.

Not the same any more will be changing brands

No longer tastes like a nice coffee, bland taste and leaves a nasty sediment at the bottom of the cup. They need to revert to the previous recipe.

I want to echo the depth of disappointment described in other reviews of the 'new' but absolutely NOT improved recipe for Kenco Millicano Intense. My instant coffee of choice for a number of years I had a stock of 6 x 90g tins, having delighted to buy some on offer. I opened the first one the yesterday and was startled to see powder instead of the anticipated granules. Yesterday and today I have had around 5 cups. The remaining 5 tins will be returned to store, and the opened tin consigned to recycling. The powdery somewhat metallic after taste, is deeply unpleasant. I am so disappointed.

Kenco, what an earth have you done to your once great coffee. I have been drinking Kenco rich coffee for over 20 years, and always preferred it to other brands. But since the ingredients have changed, the coffee leaves a brown sludge, like gravy browning at the bottom of the cup. It's almost like you are using a cheap filler. It's quite stomach turning. I will not be buying Kenco again.
