Well I tried to pay for an Amazon order this morning with my JL Partnership card as, I have done numerous times before, and it kept being rejected. I tried a number of times but Amazon kept saying the transaction was not being approved by John Lewis. I have tons of credit, I am up to date with payments, and there were no notifications of any sort on my app / account. In the end I added my other credit card to my Amazon account and removed the JL Partnership card. So I will be using it even less now!

Very straight forward process and excellent service

The transaction was simple, the rate was good and the staff member was very friendly.

Easy process, had to wait about 5mins while the person finished up with something else. Because I've used John Lewis Money before I am in the system so didn't need to check any ID this time.
Usually a good rate is given.

We recently took out pet insurance for our dog at a premium of £600 pa. . We declared at the outset that the dog had had a food poisoning episode in the previous year (gastroenteritis). Labradors are notorious for eating anything and he ate something which severely upset his stomach. This is an event - NOT - a pre-existing condition. A pre-existing condition is something which has the potential to recur, eg if a dog had had, say, an ulcer, then the potential for this to recur is always a possibility, and it would be entirely fair to exclude that condition. However, an EVENT, which is totally resolved has no greater statistical chance of happening again as it had in the first place. Before taking out the policy our dog had had the annual vet check, and was described as in first class condition; a point made in the application but was clearly totally ignored! Six weeks into our policy, ( and after we had let our existing policy lapse with our previous insurer, which meant we were unable to revert to our previous cover), John Lewis informed us that, not only would they exclude the gastroenteritis but widened the wording to read ‘gastro- intestinal’ problems. This could leave our dog uncovered for a wide range of conditions in the future and not just gastroenteritis. We talked to at least four members of staff describing in detail why this was unacceptable and unfair. Eventually, this was referred back to the underwriters who wrote back to us confirming their decision was correct. They did not refer to any of the points I had made. It was a tick-box response. I then talked to the customer support team again, who undertook to raise it as a formal complaint, but said it would take 4-8 weeks to resolve. This I said was entirely unsatisfactory as this would amount to some 16 weeks into the contract - meanwhile our dog was uncovered! I insisted that a response was received within 72 hours, which to be fair, they did do. They apologised for the delay in adding the exclusions to the policy and offered £25 compensation, but still maintained the exclusion on the policy. This they said this is their ‘final decision’. This is wholly unacceptable. John Lewis are now basically picking up the extortionate premium whilst we, in effect, pick up the risk. Not how I understand the principle of insurance to be!The insurance industry has a duty under the FCA directives, to ‘treat customers fairly’. This completely flies in the face of this directive. We could now consider the Ombudsman, but this is a very poor company to deal with, and frankly, we have decided to just cancel the policy and bank the premium and self-insure our dog ourselves. This leaves us feeling very insecure and vulnerable and not what anyone would expect from a company associated with the John Lewis name/brand. It’s underwritten by Pinnacle and we will be careful not to insure anything else that this company has anything to do with. Basically in summary, JL have re-written the contract mid-term and have left us with no viable alternative but to cancel. We are disgusted by their response and advise prospective customers to be very wary!

We received all our Turkish lira in 200 lira notes. When I asked if some of these could be changed for smaller notes, I was told they couldn’t as they were put together elsewhere, but whenever possible, they try to give a mix of different notes, it seems it didn’t happen on this day. Not ideal when you need smaller notes for tips.

Very easy transaction with helpful staff.

I always buy my currency from your Bureau de Change. I find the convenience of walk in second to none. However, on this occasion it proved to be a wholly frustrating experience. The lady I was dealing with was clearly not on top of her game and had to keep asking for assistance from a gentleman on the other table. It took forever. A simple purchase of Euros and Turkish lire.

It could not have been smoother or easier.

John Lewis Pet Insurance not worth the paper it's written on.
Had a claim for anorexia / inappetence declined on the basis of a phone call for advice about a single episode of diarrhoea when changing food types a couple of months earlier, with no other signs or symptoms.
Our vet gave a very clear explanation why this had nothing to do with the claim but was completely ignored.
Set up a complaint but they've done everything they can to try and wriggle out of it, completely unreasonably.
They'll take your money alright, but don't expect any service out of them. They put the John Lewis name to shame.

I ordered euros on Tuesday 4th August.the order was confirmed by email saying ready after 2pm on Friday 7th.but wait for an email.
No email came so I called in to store on Sunday 9th & was told no money had been delivered since Friday 7th.monday 10 th I phoned customer service & was told I would receive a call back by 5 pm.no call came & I had to phone back at 6.i was told the money was in store but have still not received an email to confirm.I had to finish work 2 hours early to go to the store not really knowing if my money was there or not.thanfully it was.i don't think I would use John Lewis for money exchange again after this experience
