JD Gyms - Sheffield South Arvostelua 

I've recently joined JD South I've been to most gyms in Sheffield and this one is up there, equipment is great and everything is looked after.Its a bit of a drive for me but it's well worth the extra petrol.
I was at JD north which I wouldn't give a star.

Really sad that I’m having to come on here, really hoping to see change. I love that they have a ladies only section, but when will we see a some sort of maintenance, it is absolutely dirty in there. The machines need updating, they are either broken or of no use. The treadmills are basically non existent. Leaks from the roof, just don’t know where to start. Hope we see a change or it will have to move to another gym😭😭

Ive only been a member 4 days (3 visits) and im really starting to get the feel of it ...I always do my training in the early hours so there's been no staff members around to quiz on certain matters but its not caused me any issues...I do find gaining access a little awkward it takes a few attempts with the app...unfortunately I havnt been given a pin code so I cant use the key pad ...on the hole im enjoying the gym despite struggling to get in...

I loved the car park and location for this gym. However, the machines are very much crammed so close together, not allowing for comfortable training.

Women’s section has machines that actually creak; they’re that old. Don’t advertise it if it’s an after thought…

The hip thrust booty builder is in the most random place seen by all. Very awkward. Cleanliness isn’t considered as high as it should be esp in a gym, equally sauna is attended by people that do not shower before hand and just come in their gym clothes, very poor.

I contacted the gym in my first week, not had a response yet, however now I’ve cancelled having tried it for a month, everyone from the gym is trying to contact me.

Customer service is not their forte, sadly.

Facilities are amazing, if you love insta worthy pictures and an aesthetic environment to workout in this is the perfect gym for you!

One of the best gym, One of the best equipment machine and Best Sauna. We need 2 more which is Steam room and jazzcui next stage now 😉👌

Lots of space, good new lockers and very nice variety of machines

I've been a member of JD Gym Sheffield for a number of years, and unfortunately the experience has steadily declined. One thing that stands out is the high turnover of staff, which often says a lot about how a place is run.
When the recent refurbishment was announced, I genuinely hoped things would improve. While some of the facilities look better, the same underlying issues remain, which has made the refurbishment feel like a missed opportunity.
For a gym with such a large membership base, finding a member of staff when you actually need one is incredibly difficult. Whether it's a problem with equipment or an issue in the facilities, staff are rarely visible on the gym floor. Equipment is often left lying around rather than being put back properly, creating a cluttered and sometimes unsafe environment.
I've also witnessed staff signing facility check sheets despite clearly not carrying out the checks they were recording, which raises concerns about standards and accountability.
The newly installed sauna is another example. On several recent visits it hasn't even been switched on, and once again there was nobody available to speak to or resolve the issue. It's frustrating to see investment in new facilities without the basic management needed to ensure they are actually available for members to use.
The ladies-only section also appears to be neglected compared to other areas of the gym. Equipment is often left untidy, maintenance issues can take time to be addressed, and it doesn't receive the same level of attention that members would reasonably expect.
With the number of members using the gym every day, standards of cleanliness, equipment management, facility checks, and staff presence should be much higher. The gym has good equipment and plenty of potential, but the lack of visible staff and poor day-to-day management continue to let it down. I genuinely thought the refurbishment would mark a turning point, but unfortunately my experience since then suggests otherwise.

Since I was last here, you have ungraded a lot of the machines and also installed a sauna in the men's changing area.
The one negative point has been the shower facilities. 2 showers out of action and the doors to the showers are not very good. However, that's minor

Great gym for everything. The Zumba class is the best mood lifting class and highly recommended the instructor of that class too. There’s more classes on offer too!!!

The music is abysmal and far too loud. I can still hear it through noise cancelling headphones. Cancelled my membership because of this.

Well equipped gym, even the cleaner was really helpful explaining things when we joined!

Good equipment, lots of stations so there's little to no waiting, clean facilities

Tried going to an induction, no staff around to help, no idea where the office is. They don't answer emails or calls. Waste of time and money. Can't wait to cancel.

Edit- tried pressing the buttons as instructed to get staff attention, again no response. No staff seen. Genuinely never seen any staff there ever.

Open 24 hours, boxing bags, classes, personal trainers and newly fitted sauna.

Great gym,great equipment...if only the hipthrust bar could be in a slightly more dignified place..women don't like to thrust in the centre spotlight

I really like that my JD gym branch has got more equipment this year.
