Urgent action required: Deed of Variation delays preventing completion
I never thought I’d have to post here, but I’ve run out of options.
For nearly two months, I’ve been trying to get Home Group to complete their part of a Deed of Variation linked to my house sale. Countryside Properties have already confirmed it’s been executed, but Home Group still haven’t sent the physical signed copy or legal promise to my solicitor — the last thing standing between my family and completion.
This delay has caused huge emotional and financial strain. Our buyers and sellers are waiting, removals are on standby, and I’ve had to juggle all this with work, childcare, and daily life. My solicitor has even warned that without Home Group’s legal undertaking, we could be left legally exposed.
I’ve emailed, called, and chased repeatedly — but no one seems to take ownership, and I’m constantly told that Countryside are “your client.” This isn’t acceptable when my sale and purchase are being held up as a result.
I have already formally raised this as a complaint and requested escalation, but there has still been no written confirmation, no clear communication, and no urgency to resolve it.
Please can someone senior urgently intervene today and confirm that Home Group will fulfil their legal responsibilities so we can finally move forward.
This situation has gone far beyond reasonable timescales and needs immediate attention.

A concern was quickly dealt with by the chat. A big thank you for a great customer service. Sadly no one turned up to cap the gas. No communication that it had been cancelled. On contacting chat again I was told it was a re chargeable job, but no one contacted me with that information. I now have no cooker as the new electric one cannot be installed and the gas one is non working.

Freezing, heartless Homegroup
Since 2018 i have complained about house getting cold at this time of year. Homegroup do not listen to tenants, don't care about tenants. Yet they take rent increase rent every year. People have young kids, old people living in freezing house. Heartless Homegroup. Email has been sent to Mark Henderson called Homegroup in the past about freezing conditions in the house. Something needs to be done inside and outside the house. Homegroup keep your tenants safe and warm this winter and every winter.

Terrible experience today
Terrible experience today. The individual was absolutely useless. Deserved minus stars, not a 1-star. I initially asked to change the date of a repair in the Home Group chat room, where you type your messages. Just like last time, I was then asked, "How can I help?" Again, I had to say "I've already told you". It was the same individual as last time. Why write anything if they don't read it? I was then told "You already have an appointment on that date". I replied with "If you read my message you would know I want to cancel that date and am asking for another day to be booked." Why was that person in the job when they were unbelievably incompetent (or was it deliberate?). I was given a new date at last. Terrible, terrible service.
