The kit arrived promptly and the installation went much as expected having studied the video and the (slight) instructions. I did have to file the drop out and did not have space for the pedal assist unit. When I got everything installed, the wheel would not turn. After a few tries with the throttle it began to turn but had a "clunk/thump" with a vibration each revolution. I took it to my bike shop and the mechanic determined it was not rubbing/hitting anything. I tried to contact Hilltopper support and that's when the real difficulties began. They never answer their telephone support line or return calls. They take days/week to answer emails and it's always from a different support person. I tried to get them to send a replacement at which time I'd return the defective wheel/hub. That way I would not be without my bike for sometime and only have to do the dismantle/reinstall once. No deal. They absolutely reused and said I must send the hub/wheel back. They did not offer to pay for the shipping. I am finally giving in and sending it back and hope it does not take very long.

I did use the kit for several weeks - with the thump thump thump. I liked it. It did just what I had hoped. I live in a mountain town at 7000 feet and am almost 80. I had stopped longer rides to avoid the uphills that I can't handle any more. With the kit I could do the hills and had some nice longer rides. I would still have to pedal going up hills which is what I want. But they are manageable with the motor helping me.

I hope I get the wheel/hub retuned quickly and look forward to riding with it again.

I like the kit, delivery and installation went well but at first the hub was locked. After pushing the throttle a few times it began to move but with a thump, thump, thump and definite vibration in the bike. I took it to my shop and the mechanic determined that it was not hitting/scraping on anything. After trying to call Hilltopper with no luck, and many emails which they take a week to answer, they want me to send the hub back for them to look at. I want them to send me a replacement at which time I'll send the original back. No luck. Very frustrating. I like the kit and just want it to work properly.

Excellent design, easy to install and a pleasure to use. The assist on hills will extend my biking days without an expensive new e-bike.

The service was good. My order shipped promptly. Everything was in the box and in great condition.

My order was a smooth transaction, and I received my bike lock and a couple other parts within just a few days! The customer support folks were really helpful and always keep me in good shape!

Super easy to install. Works great. Makes getting home up the hill a breeze.

Really enjoyed the simple install. Only issue I had was the narrowness of the tire and wheel required a brake reset.

Excellent kit, especially if you already have a regular bike you love and own, and on the fence whether or not to try an e-bike. It's made my commute so much easier without compromising the benefits of exercise. I live in a rather hilly area, so this was the perfect solution for flattening out the hills, which allows me to bike more frequently.

Until I installed the sprinter Hilltopper Kit.. 1st week I rode 24 miles in 1 day .. to see it’s limits.. now I normally ride 5-15 miles every day.. depending on the scenery.. Thank You

Great product and easy to install. I had to some minor fabrication to put this on my wife’s tricycle.

They sent me the wrong parts and it took too long to receive.

Love my Horizon kit. Was easy to install

I find the bike has only one speed-fast. I assumed it would assist the gearing i’m in. Nope no matter the gears it goes 14-15 mph. Maybe i have not ridden enough. This is dangerous on gravel and pretty fast for city. Maybe i need to know how to use the pedal assist with the throttle. A video would be helpful.

My husband bought and installed the top of the line kit. On level driving I never had the need to use it. First time I tried it, the front tire broke out of the fork, breaking it. I had the bike repaired, reinstalled the front wheel and was not even using the assist or power, and when I used my brakes, the exact same thing happened. Again the tire busted the fork!

My battery shorted out and wires melted. Asked for a replacement and was told "no." Agreed to buy new battery and after placing order and waiting a couple weeks I called in, was told it was on order and could be a couple months before delivery. I asked for the upgraded 36V battery they had in stock as a way to get on the road in the meantime and was denied. Just not what I was hoping for from a bike company. Product finally came am works as described, just not great on hills.

Just an incredible company. I'm always bragging to everyone about your kits and services. Y'all ar emailing the world a better place by helping people convert old bikes to electric!

I'm happy to report a better experience with Hilltopper than I did back in May. At that time, my Hilltopper ebike kit had stopped working and I was having little success connecting with the company. Eventually they got back to me and although their typical response time for an email is about three days (and it took almost 20 messages back and forth), they did come through with a fix, which I truly appreciate!

My husband and I rented E bikes on a recent vacation. We liked them so much that we began looking for E bike kits. We found Hilltopper and haven't looked back! We ordered two Sprinter kits. We had nice bicycles that we weren't riding very much. Now we're spinning almost every day! Our little yorkies go with us and love the ride too.

We're middle aged, but I've had a knee replacement. The Sprinter kit is perfect to keep us active but give a little boost up hills, when it's windy or I just get plain tired!

My husband didn't have any problem installing the kit. He didn't even watch the video. (But I did, and was there to give him helpful tips along the way, lol!) He's handy like that.

We are very pleased with our kits and now we're using our bicycles again!

I did email the company prior to ordering about a website issue and never got a response. Emailed today with pictures of our bikes and received a response right away.

Shipping was fast.

My first battery went bad in about 1 year - I had expected it to last longer and it felt basket as a person who bike commutes for environmental reasons to waste something like this.
