Hilltopper Electric Bike Company Arvostelua 

Needed to purchase a replacement display for one that I had broken, and I got the right one quickly.

I own a 2005 3G single speed beach cruiser,which I love.
Wanted an assist for long flat beach rides but didn’t want a multi gear new e-bike.
Researched and found the Hilltopper kit.

1/2 hour for kit installation and I was riding a motor assisted bike.
Some more time later to switch out tire,see Hilltopper YouTube,organizing wiring and permanently installing the battery. Ez-Over did not have water bottle anchor holes.

Hit 20mph on flat beach.
Made a 45 degree driveway much easier with me peddling.
Very happy with conversion kit as opposed to buying a new bike.
This kit seems perfect for flat crushing and occasional hills with pedaling help.

longevity,yet to be determined but I did ride 10 miles at 10mph with only motor and had no problem.

I have been trying to order 24v controllers for two 24v hub motors I bought from Hilltopper. One I bought over 7 years ago. It shorted out last week. The other was bought in August of this year. They do not answer emails. I sent about 5 emails. I spent two hours trying to call this morning but only got an answering machine about FIFTY times.

My electric trike is my only transportation. I am disabled and cannot walk to the store and I cannot rice farther than about a mile without a motor. I cannot find a compatible controller on the internet. I am basically screwed and I am out $200 for the hub motor I just bought from them that I have no controller for.

I have a new $899 36v kit on the way from Hilltopper because I do like their products, but I am regretting buying from them again because of their lack of support.

Had a number of issues with our order - I purchased a Hilltopper for a bike and had it sent to my bike shop for instillation - the wheel and battery arrived promptly but missing several bolts and parts needed for installation. Both the shop and I called, sent emails and used the website to try to get the parts. Never did we receive anything except a form letter. The unit has now been installed and works just fine. Unfortunately there was no Users Manual included just 2 Instillation Manuals. Foe example where can I leave the assist unit in VT winter when the bike shed temperatures drop to -20F? The information below is approximate as I am writing this now in NYC and the bike is in VT where it was serviced.

I purchased the Hilltopper Horizon conversion kit, only to find a damaged part when I received it. I contacted Hilltopper Support and they responded within two business days. A couple days later I was informed that a new replacement part was on it's way. Hilltopper Support continued their correspondence until I received the new part, and afterwards to make sure I was completely satisfied. Kudos to the Hilltopper support group for the quick response.

Works on every level! Upon arriving at another level, I plan on more battery, for now right balance of exercise with limited assistance.

Great product! I am 85 years old and ride about 4 miles a day using a Trek navigator. I ride along Lake Michigan in a hilly area often with stiff breezes. I wanted something that gave me assistance with hills and wind but still a.lowed me to pedal. For me distance was not an issue. The Hilltoppers provides the assistance I wanted and has made it easier when riding into 15 knot winds. As a net result I find myself riding more. Assembly was relatively easy but I did have widen the front fork with a hand grinder to get the tire/motor assembly to fit. I can recommend this system without reservation

This about the coolest addition to a bike I have ever seen. So well engineered and with great instructions. It works wonderful and is a joy to have. Most people don't believe that I installed it myself. Wonderful, quality item, great value. Don't wait, get one!

I live approx. 2 miles from work and am blessed with a network of trails to get there. I don’t need massive power, just enough to get up a couple of small hills without arriving all sweaty. Hilltopper and the Sprinter kit fit the bill. Extremely easy to install. I did mount the throttle via zip ties to the handgrip section of my handle bars. My shifter is too wide and I really had to reach with my thumb and my hand did not feel as secure reaching. I pedal most of the way, but also use the power to accelerate. I have plenty of power to use the throttle the whole way if I want to, I just bring the battery in and fully charge it at work.

Bought 2 Horizons. After tweaking got them both working great. PA only worked on one and on one I had to relocated battery to basket because curved frame would allow it to be mounted in water bottle slot. Bought extension on Amazon to reach the throttle. But now that it’s all done, it works great. The pedal assist in mine is awesome and my wife is fine with using the throttle only, like our old Hilltoppers. So far we’ve been 20+ miles with batter with some left in reserve. Think I could go 25-30, my wife Much further because I weigh 220.

The guys at Hilltopper have been nothing but helpful since I did the electric conversion on my bike. Not only that, but I love the ability to switch from electric to non so easily. I use the electric assist to commute to/from work every day, and love it!

What a pain in the a$$. I received the wrong size wheel kit, so needed to return it. Costumer service crawls at a snails pace. Yeah, they made everything better, but it took almost two months! I’m happy with the product, yes. But, writing five emails before receiving something besides an automated acknowledgment is ridiculous, in my opinion. Keep your fingers crossed you don’t have a problem and you’ll be stoked.

I cut wires to the battery docking device and had a replacement sent within a week.

Really enjoying my Hilltopper electric conversion kit. Fast shipping. Easy to install. And- most important- timely responses to my questions via email.
This little unit packs a punch and helps an old timer like me get out and bike despite aging muscles and nagging arthritis. Highly recommended!

Fun kit to install.
I installed the front hub motor on a 1975 26” Raleigh 3 speed. The bike was originally purchased for my mom and now my 30 year old daughter rides it. She really enjoys the electric power to help her up the hills in Colorado.

I have purchased 3 hilltopper kits over the last 8 years. Still use original kit on my granddaughters bike. Love the concept, and it has kept me riding into my 70s.
