Wish we could check 0 stars and still get to the review part. All the complaints you see are true. Happy Cards are a SCAM, just like VV (IYKYK). Card never worked, 0 balance but 0 transactions. No real Cust Serv, sends you in circles to nowhere. Idk how FTC has not shut companies like this down, literally stealing people's money. This is why I buy gifts, no gift cards from anywhere.

My card apparently expired? I thought this was illegal in Canada (gift cards can't expire, right)? So I called customer service and the recorded voice informed me that it was expired, tough luck, there's nothing they're going to do about it. I had one of these cards before and it was a nightmare to use. Never, ever buy these cards. They're a total scam.

We went to red Robin to eat they said I couldn`t use the card without going on line to activate the card to use for Red Robin. I tried calling and got no where. I am on the computer and can not figure out how to get this card to work. It says I have a balance of 25.00 , but Red Robin said I have to go online and have the money transferred to Red Robin. I will never buy another one of these cards. Unfortunately I have one more. I thought when i bought this card I could go to any of the retailers on the card and use it.

Total scam. Lowe's said the card was declined, the Happycard website blocked access when trying to obtain card balance, and a 30 minute wait for customer service when the wait time was "less than two minutes" never materialized.

Tried to use one of the cards someone gave me - problem is you have to know exactly how much is on the card to use it. I didn't so went to check the balance - it kept telling me the card number I was putting in was invalid. So now basically the card is useless - can't use it because I don't know the balance and can't check the balance. What a scam! Going to contact the companies on the card to tell them to stop supporting these scam cards.

Scam, illegal for gift cards to expire in Canada. Called to get a new card, which it says they will do online and on the card if the card is passed its "thru date." Was informed they wouldn't do anything.

The giftcard I received was for 6 different company's. One of them is Macy's. I went into their store in Eugene,OR to buy some clothes but the card would not process on any of 3 different terminals. The clerk suggested trying it online. I tried it online only to have the same problem. I was on hold for nearly an hour with happycards before giving up. I told my friend not buy anymore of these cards. I'm wonder if the companies on the cards get a cut of the scam. I wish my friend had seen these reviews before buying the card. I doubt anything will be done to rectify this injustice.

I tried to use my $50 happy card that I received as a gift. When the store clerk scratched for the card number it had expired. He told me no problem tell the company to issue a new one as it states on the card that funds do not expire. When I called the support number the message was that a new card would not be issued. I will pursue this.

Like everyone else my card was defective. Purchased in May but when you look up the card balance it shows it was already purchased in April in Montreal 6 hours away from me. When I called the company they gave me grief and said well it was already activated and I said yeah it was activated two weeks before we even purchased it in another city nowhere near us and you can see that when you look it up and I have a receipt showing that I purchased it two weeks after someone else did in another city so how does that work and I stayed on the line with them until they said they would finally send me a new card within the next two weeks and that was 3 weeks ago and nothing. And there's no email contact for them for the Canadian site at all.

I have 3 gift cards that my young son bought as gifts for me for separate occassions over 2 years ago and that I have not been able to use.
I called their customer service line but the lady insisted that she could only help me if my name and address was registered with the cards. This was news to me. There is no indication on the card that it has to be registered as soon as you receive it. Regardless, the cards are not registered, but my son has forked up money out of his allowance to buy me these as gifts.
I asked to speak to the manager but it seemed like they hung up on me.

The case number I was given is CS13038860.
I emailed the customer support on May 16 but to date have no reply.

WHAT A FRAUD!! These cards should be removed from all stores!

Tried to use for an online purchase. Message said they couldn't verify balance. Went to the HappyCard website and did a balance check. Got the same message.
Phoned their CS and got a message that it'd be an 8min wait. 30mins later the recording said it was now a 44min wait, so I hung up and sent them an email inquiry. I do not expect a reply.
I'm going to contact the store I was going to purchase from and let them know I'll not be purchasing their $180 product because of this $25 ripoff. Perhaps said company will pull out of this HappyCard scam.

I wish I can give 0 star for this company.
The card I got is expired and I tried to call and contact their hotline to get a replacement card as per their instructions listed on their website.

I contacted them twice but I’ve never get the replacement card. This is definitely not a trustworthy company.

Card expired 2023 december. No way to get funds back... website says error when I enter card information. And the phone number on the back of the card doesn't even ring... CURSE HAPPYCARDS

Had to call company at store on gift card, denied balance of $40

I wish I could give them negative stars. Such a scam and it was embarrassing trying to use the card to pay. I had TWO cards....unused. then was told there was 99cents on one and zero on the other. The customer services man was rude and not helpful. CRAP BUSINESS WITH SHADY PEOPLE. Whoever is making out scamming all this money should be ashamed of themselves. Your grandma WOULD NOT BE PROUD and your dog too!!! NEVER AGAIN. AND I'm telling everyone to never buy these scam cards.

DO NOT WAISTE YOUR MONEY. SPEND YOUR MONEY ANYWHERE ELSE. DONT BUY. I HAVE $160 ON MINE FOR OVER 4 YEARS NOBODY I REPEAT NOBODY ACCEPTS THESE CARDS. METABANK ARE SCUMBAGZS. THEY COMFORTABLE SELL WORTHLESS CARDS. THE 1 855 NUMBER GIVES ZERO ANSWERS. I AM SEEKING A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST THESE LOW LIFES. ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING.

Scam, cards don't actually work at listed locations

SCAM! The card was not working in the store. Waited forever on the customer support phone line and it was just music for 20min.

Horrible! Will not work at any places on cards. Called customer service and they said we had to register card to use online, and then only could be used to exact gift card amount or less. Never again! This place should be banned for cheating customers!
