I’m sharing my experience so other homeowners can make an informed decision before booking services through HandyBuddy.
I hired HandyBuddy for a greenhouse installation. The installer did not complete the job and left the project unfinished. Over the following weeks, I contacted HandyBuddy multiple times to request cancellation and a refund. Communication was inconsistent, and I had to follow up repeatedly.
HandyBuddy eventually acknowledged in writing that I was entitled to a full refund and stated that the refund had been issued. However, no refund ever appeared. After waiting and following up again with no resolution, I had to dispute the charge through American Express. AMEX reviewed the documentation and immediately credited my account.
My experience included:
• Incomplete installation service
• Multiple attempts to resolve the issue directly with HandyBuddy
• A written promise of a refund that was never delivered
• No follow through or final communication from the company
• Resolution only after filing a dispute with my credit card issuer
I’m posting this review so future customers understand the importance of documenting everything and exercising caution when booking home services through this platform.

Wonderful customer service and the installation team were professional and extremely knowledgeable.

Do not use this service. They charge up front before they assign a comtractor. I specifically asked for someone with Keter ahed assemblies. None were found. Then i was only refunded partially after weeks of chasing. Absolute crooks. Always be aware of a company that never has a phone number posted. They just ghost you when trying to get your money back.
Their 100% satisfaction guarantee is a false promise, once they have your money up front, good luck trying to get your money back.

Avoid HandyBuddy at all costs if you expect reliable service or actual support. I booked a flat-rate playset installation for $985.95, and my experience was completely unacceptable:

No-Show and Last-Minute Cancellation: The technician canceled my appointment at 10:00 AM on the scheduled build day, citing "weather" despite completely clear, workable conditions. They then unilaterally rescheduled me for two weeks later without my consent.

Completely Broken Platform: Their portal keeps my ticket flagged as "Overdue" because the tech hasn't even updated the system. Worse, clicking the primary "Contact HandyBuddy" button on the alert page throws a hard 404 error page.

Zero Human Support: There is no phone number to call. You are forced to deal with a useless AI chat bot or submit help forms. I submitted five separate tickets over two days without receiving a single response.

Missed Deadlines: When they finally responded to a direct email, they promised a resolution by 10:00 PM that night. They completely blew past their own deadline and ghosted me entirely.

This is a textbook example of a company taking your money upfront and completely cutting off communication when things go wrong. I had to file a formal dispute with my credit card company to get my money back and hire a reliable local installer. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere.

I initially contacted Handybuddy to request a contractor to assembly a gazebo I bought at Costco.
The first contractor who accepted the job arrived late and never completed the task.
When I notified Handybuddy about the contractor showing up late on day one and not showing up as promised on day two, Handybuddy made an independent decision to assign a new contractor.
When I contacted the 2nd contractor they reviewed the remaining work and wanted to complete the Job.
However, due to Handybuddy not placing my job in the 2nd contractor’s queue, this contractor was unable to accept the job.
Both myself and the contractor have been reaching out via email and chat to handybuddy for 5 days without any resolution.
Handybuddy charged my credit card prior to the work being completed. Now they are not responding to emails requesting help in moving my job into their queue 2nd contractor’s queue.
This is extremely poor customer service in my opinion.

Update, my job was assigned to a 2nd contractor through Handybuddy. The 2nd contractor ended up not having reliable transportation. First they wanted a ride from a park & ride. After I agreed to pick them up, the 2nd contractor canceled saying they had a catastrophic event.
Ended up having to cancel the job completely.
Bottom line, I can’t recommend handybuddy! Beware!!!

Shake of All Trades communicated well, arrived on time, did the assembly of the shed quickly, cleaned up after themselves, and were friendly. Perfect result. Did a great job.

It was very easy to schedule and connect to a handy person. Our technician communicated well and was on time, tidy, and finished the job.

Want to start by say everything else was perfect. Had a shed installed in my backyard. Handybuddy did their job and connected me with the installer after my order. The installer nailed it too. The problem was I misunderstood the ordering process and ordered an extra service I didn't need (and was never rendered) and cannot get a reply from them after numerous attempts to get a refund. Out near a hundred bucks because of my mistake.

I had scheduled installation of a greenhouse through Handy buddy. they assigned this project to their expert installer All Star logistics.
Here is a list of issues.
1. The aluminium spring windows were not installed. The workers opened the box with the aluminum spring windows and threw both boxes with the springs in the garbage.
2. There was 5 roles of sealant that were shipped by the manufacturer. It was to seal the window panels to the wood frame. All 5 sealant tubes are missing and there is no sealant on the greenhouse.
3. There were two roles of tape shipped with the greenhouse meant to be taped to each panel. The top of the panel was to have a Top tape and the bottom of the panel was to have the bottom tape. There is no tape on any panel and the two roles of tape are also missing, the same as the sealant. The panels have open ends without the tape with water getting into them after rain fell last night.
3. There are scratches on the door that were not there when I did a check on the materials that came with the boxes. There is a big gap between in the door and insects are getting into the green hose through the gap
I am very disappointed with the install and even after calling several times to fix the issue, every time the installer has cancelled on me after I call them to ask them when they will be here.

It took a few days to find someone but the guy they sent out was polite, competent and put my inversion table together quickly and efficiently.
The service was expensive, more so than I expected, but I didn’t have to find someone to do it myself so I’m grateful.

He was very professional and handled a difficult project very well. Good attitude and very knowledgeable.

I give Andrew and Partners a Five Star rating and would use them again in a heartbeat. Handybuddy and the first 'expert', to respond, BlueFiks, LLC, not so much...I had never used Handybuddy or the system before, so I filled out the form chose the first available date (Sunday Feb 8 - I would have preferred Fri the 6th) and waited to be matched. When we were matched, I was contacted by a representative from Bluefiks, who indicated they could not do the 8th but could come on Friday, around noon, so I said yes, but I had not received any info from Handybuddy about the date and time, instead was informed to 'work it out' with the supplier. I asked if there was any additional cost because the initial info said the amount I was quoted was a quote only...was told that they don't charge hourly, and was asked to send pictures of the poor quality of the boards and the splitting that had occurred. Which I did...then I was told that they don't work directly with HandyBuddy's customers and was I a customer of handybuddy (???) how else did I find them??? Maybe I was not a handybuddy customer if I had not paid them, yet??? Then I was told that they receivd my order through Handybuddy for Sunday, but I needed to cancel it for them to come on Friday...then I was told that from the pictures I sent, it would be an ALL day event and that they would have to reschedule to come on Monday...WTF? I asked if I went through HandyBuddy that they could come on Friday, but if I used them directly it would now have to be Monday??? WTF...so i said I'd like them to come Friday and they told me Friday was now booked and they could only come on Monday but I had to cancel the order through HandyBuddy for Sunday...I then got an email saying that they were booked for Sunday through HandyBuddy and I would expect them then unless they were coming on Friday at 9am...I got an email saying my request for Sunday was a preference only and they could book on Monday...man this is not customer oriented...Fine come Monday! When I asked them to confirm Monday at 9, they went silent...I wrote back please confirm Monday at 9am...they wrote back and said they cancelled the order and that they were now booked for Monday...WTF! so I set up another order.
This was so frustrating I attempted to call Handybuddy customer service but they don't have a phone system for customer service...it turns out that BlueFiks, cancelled the order indicating I could not schedule a time with them...the order was not canceled but had to be resubmitted otherwise, if I cancelled it would be a $149 cancellation fee! WTF!!! So, I cancelled the 2nd order - no one had been matched yet - and resubmitted the first...I was quickly contacted by Andrew and Partners who indicated they could come out Sat. to do the work - which I made work for our schedules and they WERE OUTSTANDING TO WORK...like I said, Handybuddy and BlueFiks, not so much...Andrew & partners Five Stars!

I needed a treadmill assembled. He was on time, polite, professional, and was done in no time.

Handybuddy matched me up with a specialist who assembled my cross-training machine quickly and expertly, and they did the match very quickly. They saved me a tremendous amount of time by helping me to not have to search for a specialist on my own. Well worth the cost.

When I ordered a piece of exercise equipment I have given the option to add HandyBuddy to assemble the item. I added my zip code and they said they serviced the area and could do the job. I accepted the terms and service and paid the $395. Three days later they mark the job "CANCELED". Seems they do not service the area. So now I have two large boxes on their way to me and no one to assemble them when they get here.
Don't trust HandyBuddy they will say they cover and area even when they don't.

Shari and Sheldon were great!! The came the next day after reaching out. They were both detailed and thoughtful. They built a big swingset/playhouse outside for us.

I can’t say enough good things. They both nice. I hope to work with them again.

I was charged $90 by the company even though we didn't have an appointment time confirmed. The person on the chat said I had to authorize my credit card and it would only be charged when the work was done. That wasn't true. The full amount was immediately charged. 12 hours after I booked the appointment we realized we could do it ourselves. I immediately canceled the appointment and messaged the contractor and the site. They refunded the contractor fee but kept $90 for the connection to the contractor. The person from the finance department was completely rude and unprofessional. I will never book with them again and am disputing the charge on my credit card. Terrible way to do business.
