Great Places Housing Arvostelua 

Luke the plasterer attended for plaster damage from a suspected leak. He arranged all the needed ongoing works, was clear about what I should I expect at every stage and super friendly to boot. Cleaned up very well (left the area cleaner than it started!) and even the cat didn't mind having him around.

He was here to fix the tiles in my bathroom that were loose and noticed sone of the other tiles needed updating.

Over the past 6 months, my family has been living through an absolute nightmare and I genuinely do not know how much more we are expected to tolerate before somebody finally takes accountability.

My mother is a vulnerable disabled tenant of Great Places Housing Group and for months we repeatedly reported escalating anti-social behaviour, harassment, intimidation, excessive noise nuisance, threats and safeguarding concerns involving a neighbouring tenant and associated individuals.

This was not a one-off disagreement between neighbours.

This was months of:
• prolonged loud music and vibration disturbances from early morning until late at night
• harassment and intimidation
• verbal abuse
• aggressive behaviour
• repeated threats
• ongoing fear and distress
• and repeated warnings from us that the situation was escalating and somebody was going to get hurt

Throughout this entire period, I submitted extensive evidence to Great Places including:
• Ring doorbell footage
• videos and audio recordings
• written timelines
• incident logs
• emails
• safeguarding concerns
• and medical information explaining the impact this was having on my mother

My mother suffers from significant health conditions including PTSD, Chiari malformation, neurological issues, anxiety and mobility problems. The ongoing stress, noise and fear severely worsened her health over these months.

She experienced:
• neurological flare-ups
• dizziness and imbalance
• falls inside the property
• sleep deprivation
• heightened PTSD symptoms
• severe anxiety
• and eventually became too frightened to remain in her own home

We repeatedly warned Great Places that the behaviour was escalating and posed a genuine safeguarding risk.

Despite this, meaningful intervention never came.

Then on 30th April 2026, exactly what we had been warning about for months happened.

The neighbouring tenant attended my mother’s home, smashed her front windows, damaged her garden, attempted to force entry into the property and screamed threats stating she was going to kill her.

Police attended and an arrest was made.

This incident was captured on video and witnessed by multiple residents.

My mother has effectively been displaced from her home ever since because she is terrified to return there.

What makes this even harder to accept is that only days before this happened, we attended a joint meeting with Great Places staff and police where we again raised concerns about escalating behaviour and the risk to my mother’s safety.

We left that meeting feeling completely dismissed.

Now, after six months of warnings and evidence, everyone suddenly accepts the seriousness of the situation only after it escalated into violence.

I have spent the last six months trying to protect my mother whilst also working full-time, running my own household, and caring for her as I have done for many years. The stress of this situation has affected every aspect of my life, including my work, mental health, friendships and family life.

At this stage, we are pursuing formal complaints, Ombudsman escalation, MP involvement and legal advice because we no longer have confidence that this matter has been handled appropriately by Great Places.

Vulnerable tenants should not have to reach the point of smashed windows, threats to kill and displacement from their homes before meaningful action is taken.

No family should have to fight this hard just to be safe in their own home.

We are absolutely delighted with the fencing and flagging work completed in our garden. From start to finish, the service was professional, reliable, and completed to an exceptionally high standard. The new fencing looks fantastic — solid, well-built, and has completely improved the look and privacy of the garden.
