Armstrongs handled the funeral arrangements of my brother brilliantly.
From the very start, when we first visited them on the day of his death, to the day of his funeral itself, they were kind, supportive, helpful, calm, reassuring and utterly professional.
In addition to ensuring that everything went completely smoothly, the extra little touches (finding an appropriate photo for his order of service; checking and rechecking all the documentation; providing flower seeds for all the guests at the funeral) meant a great deal to us.
I can completely understand why they have such an outstanding reputation and why they were recommended to us so warmly.
We will never forget their excellent service and their many additional acts of kindness.

We chose Armstrongs to be funeral directors for our Dad as we had heard that they had a good reputation. We were pleased to be able to have a preliminary chat with Fiona whilst Dad was receiving palliative care at home, and this made everything easier when he passed.
Darren and James were extremely respectful and caring when they came to take Dad to their funeral home. We were pleased to be asked if we would like to be present in the room while they prepared him to leave his house.
Fiona was very caring, understanding and professional when the family met her at Armstrongs to discuss arrangements, and she guided us through the range of options available.
We were very grateful to be able to spend an hour with Dad in the chapel of rest before the day of the funeral. We said our goodbyes and remembered special times in the peaceful, unhurried and private surroundings. This greatly helped us on the day of Dad's funeral when time to say goodbye was limited.
At the Crematorium Louise and her team performed their duties with dignity and professionalism in a very caring and attentive way. We were reassured they were on hand the whole time to assist the family when needed.
Throughout our dealings with Armstrongs, Claire has been our first point of contact and she has always been kind, considerate and helpful to us.
In a changing world where everything now seems to be more difficult and organisations harder to deal with, Armstrongs provided a most caring and professional service keeping the whole process easy and without complications. We would not hesitate to recommend them.

From the moment we contacted Oliver and the team we were immediately impressed with there Service. We found them to be polite professional caring and respectful. Making the arrangements we were always put at our ease and never pressured to make a snap decision. All of our requests were no problem for Oliver and the team. Everything possible was done to support our family during this difficult time.

We did not know where to start when Mum died and their help was invaluable.
Fiona was calm and patient and talked us through everything we needed to do and took control of all the aspects that they could do and carried them out flawlessly.
With a big family to co-ordinate for dates and arrangements needed for two churches as well as the burial it was not straightforward to arrange. However, their good relations with local clergy and extensive local knowledge, meant that all was arranged and carried out smoothly with no stress for ourselves.
On the day, Nick was calm and very supportive and it really helped to know that it was all in his hands. We felt totally confident that it would be handled smoothly, and it was.

We recently met Oliver from Armstrong Funeral Services to organise our mums funeral service at Risby crematorium.

For most people choosing a Funeral Directors would be the first time in doing so, and for us this was the case.

We looked through the internet results as I’m sure most people will do and we also had a few people who suggested Armstrongs and so we made our decision, this was without a doubt the best decision we could have made.

From the first moment of meeting Oliver we knew we were in safe and compassionate hands.

We had no ideas of what happens, when, who or anything, Oliver took charge in the most compassionate and respectful manner and organised everything from making sure a photo display was taken to the wake to a teddy bear display in the crematorium.

Losing a loved one is an emotional difficult time for any family and having the right people around you during this time to help, guide and support in the planning and organisation of a funeral is essential, but it’s having the right people to do this that treats everyone with the greatest respect and compassion that is so important, and Oliver is this person.

If you are reading this you may have had a recent loss of a loved one, I can wholeheartedly support your decision into speaking and meeting Oliver in Armstrongs, you will know as soon as you meet him you’ve made the right decision.

Armstrongs were absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and the team are so professional. I have used their services before so knew exactly what to expect and I wasn't disappointed. Nick and his team made everything so easy. Fiona was so patient with me during the arrangements and on the day Oliver and his team were brilliant. I would definitely recommend Armstrongs and if you want something different ask them about Penelope their VW Hearse.

The Armstrongs team were friendly, helpful, caring and professional. Every little detail was attended to to ensure sure everything went smoothly for the service at the crematorium and made sure a sad day was a beautiful one.

I used Armstrongs to organise a recent service for a relative and would highly recommend them as nothing was too much trouble.

At the first appointment we met with Fiona who went through everything that we needed to think about and do. She was friendly and professional and gave us all the time we needed to make the necessary decisions.

She took care of everything - from the coffin & transport to liasing with the church & crematorium, ordering flowers, printing the order of service, booking the church organist etc.

At the service, there were more Armstrong staff on hand to make sure everything went smoothly.

From start to finish EVERY member of the Armstrongs team were incredible. In what is a very sad, stressful and difficult time they provided sincere and heartfelt support. My Uncle's funeral became something positive and a celebration of life and for that I cannot stress enough the power of empathy and kindness. After having used Armstrongs funeral directors for my father‘s funeral three years ago we were very impressed.
Sadly, my husband passed away last month and I decided to use them again.

After the phone call to Armstrongs to inform them of my loss, I had 2 very lovely Gentleman come to collect my husband from our home.
They were absolutely lovely, very caring and respectful to my late husband and me.

Once I arranged an appointment to sort the funeral arrangements I had a lovely gentleman named Lewis. He was fantastic very patient, informative, friendly and it was a relief to have the help from Lewis.

The whole experience with Armstrongs was very very positive and nothing was to much trouble.

Mum and I just wanted to drop you a line or two to say a very big thank you to you and your team for everything you did at Dad's funeral yesterday. The whole thing was completely seamless from start to finish. We really appreciated your helpful insights, kind words and thoughtfulness. Nick Armstrong & his team provide an absolutely first class service & I would recommend them unreservedly. From the moment my husband Ian was collected from the hospice I felt that he was in safe hands. Every member of staff was extremely kind, helpful, sensitive & compassionate from the word go, nothing was too much trouble.

Michelle went above & beyond in making sure that he had the send off he deserved,from finding the right plane for the front cover of the service sheet to knowing that Penelope was exactly the right transport for him. She made the whole process as stress free as possible by taking the time to really get to know both him & us.

Visits to see Ian in the chapel of rest were peaceful, dignified & respectful. I especially appreciated that he was able to keep his Christmas throw & cushion with him whilst he rested; the wooden hearts to write on are a lovely touch! A heartfelt thank you too to Claire, who always made us feel so welcome.

Nicks reassurance & support over dealing with a potentially disruptive family situation,together with Michelle’s guidance & understanding through the hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with, resulted in a beautiful service & a real celebration of the man I love.

The seeds provided on the day & the tree planted locally in his memory (which I’d forgotten about until the certificate arrived!) are lovely touches!
