We were recommended Armstrongs Funeral Service by several people after our Dad died and we were so glad we went with them. They couldn't have been more caring or helpful and gave us plenty of different options for the funeral service so it felt very personal. We went with the "Simple" Cremation service but although simple it certainly didn't skimp on any of the essentials. I did wonder what the coffin would be like with a "Simple" service but it was all we could have wanted and of a very high quality. We opted to have someone playing the organ to accompany the hymns rather than pre-recorded mustic and I'm so glad we did as the organist played them so sensitively. Armstrongs are a local and independent funeral directors and my father had specifically requested that we use them for his funeral when the time came. He had been to funerals looked after by them and was very impressed. It was a pleasure to deal with the staff at Bury St Edmunds, despite the circumstances we found ourselves in as a family. We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable at our face to face initial meeting and communication back and forth between then and the funeral itself was always timely, useful and accommodating. The funeral day itself went very smoothly and the representatives from Armstrongs were very kind, helpful and professional. They felt like extended family members at the funeral and we knew we were in very good hands throughout the day. The follow up afterwards was also very good. All formal matters were dealt with easily and there were some nice little touches for us as a family as well. The ability to have a tribute page on the website was very useful at the time for family and friends, for ease of donations and to continue to return to in moments of need. We highly recommend Armstrongs and will be using their services again in the future.

I found Lewis & all at Armstrongs to be very caring, helpful and attentive. It has been such a very sad time for us losing two sisters in the same month. Nothing was ever too much trouble, they were at end of telephone when needed.

On the funeral day, the team were caring, respectful and so incredible helpful - even sharing tissues with us.

We received such a friendly, personal and helpful service from Armstrongs for my mum's funeral arrangements. I've never had to organise a funeral before, so appreciated the guidance from the office staff and the website with its links and brochures. I was given a clear understanding of the choices of services and costs, and timescales involved. All in-person, phone and emailed communications were timely and empathetic. Our carefully planned wishes were carried out with seamless precision and comforting reliability. I never felt any concerns that events wouldn't happen as promised. I wouldn't hesitate to most strongly recommend Armstrongs for your funeral management.

Today was the funeral of my dad.

I could write a huge e mail, but I would like to say this - your team are totally excellent, I really don't know how things could have been bettered.

The morning my dad died, Oliver came and collected him and pitched the tone spot on - he told us what we needed to know on that day, and reassured us that we could get more information over the next few days (or sooner if we had questions). The practicalities around actually moving my dad was done with dignity from the outset and we felt the guys were welcome in our home from the start.

The planning of the funeral 60 miles away did not phase your team at all and the planning that was put in pre funeral meant that an unfamiliar location to your team looked familiar and seamless.

They really are to your credit Nick, and are a tight knit team operating as one, delivering a superb service which is by its very nature extremely personal.

After losing our Mum it was a case of who do you use for the funeral. We picked Armstrongs I am so glad we did they were so respectful and helpful from the moment we contacted them. The funeral was just beautiful and such a comfort knowing that all the details we wanted were taken care off.

Armstrongs Funeral Service could not be more helpful, considerate, and kind in dealing with a recent funeral for me, full of compassion and help in putting the funeral together, without being pushy and removed from the situation, on the contrary I felt that they cared and were genuine in their feelings and concern, explained everything, and nothing was too much trouble. I contacted Armstrongs when my father passed away, out of hours on a bank holiday. After being advised the hospice he was at couldn’t hold him until the morning after. From that first call on 19th September to after his funeral on 13th October I found myself completely reassured by their service. Oliver liaised with me regularly about my fathers care and arrangements and my living 140 miles away from Bury St Edmunds was no problem. He was professional, kind and offered suggestions which I hadn’t thought about that helped immensely in the planning of the service.
I opted for a woodland burial, and Culford (that Oliver suggested as a potential location) is a beautiful location which I selected. The online brochures for coffins/caskets and flower arrangements don’t do the physical objects justice (they were lovely) and the funeral team were compassionate and very respectful on the day. The funeral attendees were given a packet of wildflower seeds when the service concluded and all told me that it was a really lovely gesture.
To conclude, the team at Armstrongs professionalism, suggestions and kindness made a bad time more bearable, stress free, and I’m extremely grateful. Thank you.
