The host Jim was very knowledgeable engaging and it was such intresting fun day very different from anything me an my partner have done before and after a wonderful few hours we got to eat what we'd picked plus had a meal that was full of so many different flavours and things we'd tried...with the added bonus of spectacular view

This is our 3rd experience with Forage Box, but this was our first coastal forage. The experience was brilliant as usual. And even the poor weather didn’t dampen the morning. Our guide was Jim whom we’ve been Lucky enough to have on our previous forage days. Jim is professional, knowledgeable, fun and makes sure we all gain confidence in what we’ve foraged. He genuinely wants us all to enjoy the experience but also to take the knowledge home to continue foraging . The location was perfect to forage for everything we were looking for. The food cooked for us was all foraged produce and extremely delicious.
We can’t wait for our next adventure with Forage Box.

Jim was a great tutor, and the food and experience was great

First time foraging experience in the Trough of Bowland. Bought by my husband as a birthday gift. It was a small group so it was easy to listen, learn and interact with our guide and each other. Gavin, our guide had such passion for the topic. He was very knowledgeable and identified many edible and inedible species of plant and their habitat. Lots of opportunity to get hands on and the foraged cook up at the end was lovely...we also each got a free gift of a calendar at the end. Thank you so much for such a unique, interesting experience. Happy to recommend 👌

Really enjoyable! Before doing this experience I had done some foraging by learning from books but doing the experience massively improved the amount of food I can find while I’m out and about. The tutor, Jim, was knowledgeable and friendly, and I will be looking to go to one of these events again! Also the food provided at the end of the session tasted amazing.

What a great experience. We had been meaning to do a foraging course for a while and this has really opened up a can of worms. We plan to go out again as soon as we can and try and learn more. Cannot recommend Gavin enough, his knowledge and experience was first class. We will seriously be considering a follow up course with Gavin again if he is in the area.

Booked a 3 hour forage along the Lancaster Canal on Sunday 22 March 2026. What a fabulous and enlightening experience it was. I had no idea there was so much edible (and poisonous) vegetation along such a short stretch of the canal. Jim was such an interesting and knowledgeable guide. The small pasta pot meal cooked at the end was excellent too. Cannot recommend this highly enough.

We were relatively experienced foragers but had no idea regarding the medicinal properties of such common and readily available plants. Emily was not only extremely knowledgeable but had a friendly and approachable presenting style. Would definitely book her again.
Good value also I thought. Will do again.

We had a lovely time in Borough Green (Kent) with Emily. She is super knowledgeable and was very helpful. It was a lovely experience, I would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful few hours with Emily, she was very knowledgeable, patient & caring. I'm looking forward to trying the Oxymel that I made, & am already thinking that I might want to go on another Forage & Nibble event, at a different time of year, to be able to identify / taste other medicinal plants.

We were lucky to have a dry sunny day in March and to have Jim as our guide. He was very knowledgeable and entertaining with stories and anecdotes about all the specimens we could and should not eat. We learned how to collect safely and sustainably and how to cook and preserve certain items. It was incredible many delicious leaves, shoots, plants and buds we found in such a small stretch of the Lancaster canal.

Richard was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic to share his experience and understanding. He was also not afraid to say what he didn’t know and to urge caution. We were given an excellent base from which to learn more. I highly enjoyable afternoon

We had a fantastic foraging trip on Saturday morning to Frodsham. Rachel, our guide, was so lovely, very knowledgeable, and gave us a wonderful morning. We would highly recommend these workshops, and we will definitely be booking for autumn!

Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Weather was kind but Richard was so knowledgeable and friendly and his wild garlic pesto was out of this world- would highly recommend- Sarah and Chris

Richard was absolutely wonderful. We had the best time foraging and haven't stopped talking about it and recommending the experience to everyone. The course was perfectly pitched, beginner friendly, yet we've come away having learnt so much and been really excited to put these skills into practice. Richard's enthusiasm for foraging was infectious! Thanks again for the time you took to answer all our questions. Can't wait to come back in a different season and learn more.

Had a really good time on the foraging course. Pete was an excellent host, really knowledgable and approachable. I enjoyed talking with him. His cake was excellent too! All round it was a great day, my only critique would be to encourage people to apply the knowledge as youre learning a little. There is a lot to take in so for me it would be a good way to test the knowledge and learn more deeply. I appreciate this might be more personal to my learning style, so more of a comment than anything else. Would reccomend

Alex was a fantastic guide on our foraging trip near Ledbury! Really enthusiastic and could answer any questions we had, the food he prepared at the end was also delicious and so well thought out. Will definitely be doing more courses with forage box.
