I hired a car in march and was told my 260 euro deposit would be returned after 4 business days. 30 business days later, I am STILL waiting. No response to emails; nothing. They ignore Whatsapp messages about this.
Utterly shocking. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for a car rental. Go for a LOCAL company which is locally owned and operated instead that does not require a deposit. In fact, as I had FULL insurance, I should not have needed to even pay a deposit!! I transited through Athens recently and went to enquire as to why I still didn't have my deposit. They said it HAD been released. My bank however said, they had no deposit at all that had gone through my account. I now have to get a Greek friend involved to help me as I am not a Greek and don't live there! BAD experience! DO NOT HIRE FROM THESE PEOPLE!!

Everything over was fine service and solid car.
Unfortunately damage at receival on back door was present. The pointed was initially highlighted unfortunately during return, I was blamed causing it. End of paying such damage. This is not good Customer care & fair treatment.

Schon der Beginn unserer Reise war enttäuschend: Wir mussten zur Anmietstation laufen, da kein Shuttle zur Verfügung stand. Als wir dort ankamen, mussten wir alle unsere Daten erneut ausfüllen, ohne dass das Personal uns dabei half. Nach endlosem Warten wurde uns schließlich von einem jungen Angestellten geholfen, der alle Angaben nochmals überprüfte - natürlich auch die Kreditkarte für die Kaution.

Mein Mann bot seine Maestro-/Debitkarte an, da wir damit bei früheren Autovermietungen (sogar in Griechenland!) noch nie Probleme gehabt hatten. Aber hier wurde uns plötzlich gesagt, dass nur eine Kreditkarte akzeptabel sei - obwohl wir noch nie eine gebraucht hatten! Der Angestellte wollte meine Kreditkarte nicht akzeptieren, weil er "die Karte in der Hand haben musste". Auch eine Barzahlung war nicht möglich. Am Ende waren wir gezwungen, eine zusätzliche Versicherung für 240 € abzuschließen - absolut unverschämt, da wir bereits eine Versicherung hatten! Das Beste war, dass die Kaution trotzdem von der Debitkarte abgebucht oder gesperrt wurde. Für mich ist das nichts anderes als Abzocke!

Das Ende unserer Anmietung war ebenso schlimm: Trotz zweier Tankstopps funktionierte die Tankanzeige nicht richtig. Zurück bei Europcar trafen wir auf denselben "freundlichen" Mitarbeiter. Ohne eine Quittung von der Tankstelle wollte man uns nicht glauben, dass wir getankt hatten. Mein Mann musste ein drittes Mal zur Tankstelle gehen, um für 2 € zu tanken und eine Quittung zu bekommen.

Als wir zurückkamen, entdeckte der Angestellte eine kleine Delle im Auto, die auf den Fotos vom Beginn der Anmietung nicht zu sehen war. Mein Mann zeigte ihm, dass diese Delle auf keinem der Fotos zu sehen war (auch nicht auf neuen), aber das war dem Angestellten egal. Für diese angebliche Delle wurde uns eine "Bearbeitungsgebühr" von 31 € in Rechnung gestellt, obwohl wir sehr vorsichtig mit dem Auto umgegangen waren.

Zusammengefasst: Europcar in Heraklion ist eine reine Abzocke! Wir wurden mehrmals ungerecht behandelt und zur Kasse gebeten. Wir würden dort nie wieder ein Auto mieten und raten jedem, diese Mietwagenfirma zu meiden

Everything goes wrong and they only ask got more money

Abbiamo aspettato un’ora e mezza in fila per sentirci dire che l’auto che avevamo prenotato non era disponibile! Ci offrivano una macchina più piccola allo stesso prezzo e non hanno nemmeno chiesto scusa. Nessun tentativo di assistenza o servizio clienti. Non la consiglio in nessun caso.

3. Warnmeldung den Reifendruck betreffend schon nach wenigen Kilometern -- (Wagen war also ungeprüft weitergegeben worden)

5. Hoher unangekündigter Gebührenaufschlag für den sicherheitshalber angemeldeten Zweitfahrer -----

great experience from booking the vehicle to landing at the airport and there was a van waiting outside, literally 2 minutes drive to the office, took some details paid deposit
upgraded me to a even better car
did the checks with taking pictures and videos and off we went

on return was like not even 5 minutes they checked over the car I.hopped on to their van and I was in airport within few minutes

Avoid at all costs! Appalling customer service. We rented a car from the airport at 5AM to only find out when we arrived to our hotel that we were given a car with a flat tyre due to a dodgy repair! Customer service never returned my call and then I spent the rest of the afternoon in call waiting where they never responded my calls! The day after I called twice to file a complaint and the representatives hang up on me both times! I thought Europcar was a legit company but it is definitely the worst!

Μου παρέδωσαν αυτοκίνητο με σκοτάδι με κρύο και βροχή. Είπαν ότι είχε κάποιες μικρό ζημιές που γνώριζε η εταιρεία .Το έβγαλα βίντεο αλλά μέσα στο σκοτάδι δεν φαινόταν καλά.Το αποτέλεσμα ήταν ότι το αυτοκίνητο είχε σημάδι στο παρμπρίζ και μου χρέωσαν 1000 ευρώ.Εννοειται ότι θα παω δικαστικώς. Οι υπάλληλοι κατά την παράδοση εριστικοι και αγενεστατοι

Απαράδεκτη πολιτική με πολλές χρεώσεις μετα την παράδοση του αυτοκινήτου

Es wurde vor Ort mitgeteilt, dass meine Kreditkarte nicht akzeptiert wird. Alternative: Kaution in Höhe von ... ( knapp 1000€ ) plus 49€ Servicegebühr oder kein Mietwagen.
Alle Punkte haben den abgeschlossen Vertrag widersprochen, was zu einer Eskalation und Einschaltung des Anwalts erforderte.

Aufpassen auf die Machenschaften der Anbieter!
Lasst euch keine unautorisierten Beitrage abbuchen oder ähnliches.
Kautionen können nur auf manchen Kreditkarten geblockt werden.

Don' t do it. The worst car rental experience in Athens. Not cooperable, not flexible, not friendly to the costumer. There are many much better alternatives in Athens.

Oszuści, twierdzą, że nie akceptują kart debetowych, ale jak zapłacić 140 € -pełne ubezpieczenie to nagle akceptują. Obsługa chamska i nie pomocna.Nie polecam, szkoda czasu i pieniędzy.

Booked a Dacia Jogger Estate through EasyJet with full insurance premium for the very good price of £98.10 plus £49.02 for insurance. Once at the pickup desk for Europcar at Athens Airport I was told I would need to take out their insurance for an additional €180. I was about to walk away when I was told that if I paid an additional €49 fee I did not need to pay the €180. At that point I should have walked away. I did not. I was then told that as I did not have a Credit Card I would have to transfer €1,300.00 into Europcar’s account which would be related to me when I returned the car. I foolishly, did this. I returned the car on Wednesday. The €1,300.00 still has not been paid back into my account.

Incredibly rude and combative behaviour from the moment I approached the desk. Our flight was delayed by 2 hours, as a result we were late to the desk by 2 hours and a few minutes.

They had cancelled our booking and I was down £150. They weren't interested in anything else once they confirmed everything was non-refundable. I couldn't even organise an alternative booking.

Kaution nach 2 Monaten immer noch nicht erhalten. Sehr unprofessioneller Service. Und es wird einfach auf die Bank geschoben, die weiß aber von nichts. Bin einfach nur angepisst

Booking number 1192429038. We rented a Fiat 500 for a week. One day our car stopped running. We were on the beach 50 km from the hotel. It was impossible to reach technical support or the helpline. No one answered. It was evening, the beach was deserted, and we had to leave the car there and take a taxi to the hotel. In the morning, we continued calling Europcar. They said, "We'll call you back," but no one called back. It turned out they'd gotten phone number mixed up. It took us four hours of calls and negotiations before a specialist came to inspect our car. He told us the battery is very-very old. It was dead and we needed to go to the service center and buy a new one myself! And we had to do it. We paid 85 euros. When we returned the car, my husband handed over all the receipts to the Europcar office and filed a claim asking for a refund for the battery and taxi costs. Zero results. Almost two months have passed, and Europcar still hasn't resolved the issue or refunded the money. A ruined vacation and lost money—that's the price of renting a car with Europcar in Greece, and in Athens in particular. As much as I love Greece and the Greeks, Europcar in Greece is clearly the most customer-unfriendly and careless Greek company. We wouldn't recommend it to anyone!
