Fraud and lack of ethics
I received a renault clio that was damaged all around, at initial inspection I needed to point out around 10 different damages which their employee didn't see, to the point where it was uncomfortable. They took a 3000 Euro deposit for a car that is not worth 3000 Euro. They didn't bother to inspect the car after I've returned it and told me not to worry about the deposit, because it usually takes 1-2 weeks. Days later, they issue me an invoice for 3000 Euro to cover damages for a plastic underbody plate (not outlined in the invoice).
I will be pursuing legal action, looking at the other recent reviews I don't think this company should function based on denying basic consumer rights and lack of ethics.

At the time of vehicle pick-up, all existing damages are recorded in the rental agreement and the vehicle check-out report, and the customer has the opportunity to review and confirm them together with our employee before signing the document.
After the vehicle was returned, it was found that the car had new damages which were not present or recorded at the time of pick-up. According to the terms and conditions of the signed rental agreement, the renter is responsible for any damages that occur during the rental period up to the amount of the security deposit.
Easy Rent Bulgaria always strives to operate transparently and in accordance with the agreed rental terms.

Horrible experience-Typical Bulgarian Style.
Horrible experience. I had third-party insurance coverage, but the guy at the desk, who was exceptionally rude (literally surreal), claimed it was practically worthless. I lived in Bulgaria for 6 years and am married to a Bulgarian, so I'm aware of how attitudes are towards foreigners in regard to business/opportunity. Anyway, he plucked an arbitrary figure of 40 euros a day for the cover. Total: 400 euros. Then he said they required a return deposit of 1K euros. So, on the way to collect the car, I noticed that there is a stamped notice on it: "Deposit will be returned in 30 working days" (6 weeks).
Collected the car, which was filthy, with an engine management light on and a broken rear door handle. Luckily, I took photos and video. So in typical Bulgarian style, the deposit wasn't returned within the 6 weeks. I called, and they said we damaged the door handle. We didn't. I sent the photos to them. I then got my wife to call them, and the deposit was returned shortly thereafter. They said it was because we had the full insurance. What a saga. I wish I had read the reviews here before I did. Previously, I used another BG car rental company, and the deposit was returned to my credit card as I was exiting the airport. So they have no excuses.
One of the reasons why we left Bulgaria is this constant struggle with retailers and service operators in Bulgaria. They have a HUGE way to come yet to get to Western European ethical values.

Nolleggio la macchina dal 28/12/25-03/01/26, arrivo per il ritiro e mi viene chiesto un deposito di 400 euro, più tosto che 200 come indicato nel preventivo causa età 24 anni! I soldi vengono prelevati, non bloccati! Riconsegno la macchina senza nessun danno, perfetta come dovrebbe essere! Ad oggi 20 febbraio, i soldi non mi sono stati ancora resi! Per contratto devono essere resi entro 20 giorni lavorativi!!! Ho scritto mail, messaggi whatsapp, chiamate… tanto stress tempo perso inutilmente! E’ in arrivo una bella denuncia dal mio avvocato, perché ora non ho più tempo da perdere dietro a gente incapace di fare il proprio lavoro! SCANDALOSI! Rivolgetevi a tutti gli altri noleggi ma non a loro!

Peccato che non si possono dare in meno le stelle… sono pessimi. Dovrebbero rendere la cauzione che viene prelevata addirittura, non solo bloccata, dopo 20 giorni lavorativi, ma neanche dopo 40 giorni, non ho ricevuto n Nonostante decine di chiamate e mail. Nonostante la macchina è stata consegnata in modo perfetto! Incompetenza totale! Ho viaggiato in tutto il mondo, noleggiato macchine ovunque, e non ho mai avuto problemi del genere! Mi dispiace che ho riscontrato questi disagi proprio nel mio paese d’origine!

Наех автомобил от EasyRent Bulgaria за периода 27.12.2025 – 03.01.2026 г. При получаването на автомобила заплатих депозит в размер на 200 € с дебитната си карта. От служителя на фирмата ми беше обяснено, че депозитът ще бъде възстановен до 20 работни дни след връщането на автомобила, при условие че няма щети или глоби.
Автомобилът беше върнат на 03.01.2026 г. без никакви щети или забележки. При връщането ни беше казано, че сумата ще бъде възстановена чрез Revolut. Тъй като аз нямам Revolut, предоставихме сметката на дъщеря ми. Служителят потвърди, че няма проблем депозитът да бъде върнат по тази сметка и дори направи снимка на номера ѝ.
Към днешна дата, 14.02.2026, депозитът от 200 € не е възстановен. Направих многократни опити да се свържа с фирмата по телефон, Viber и електронна поща, но не получих никакъв отговор. Липсата на комуникация и неизпълнението на ангажимента за връщане на депозита будят сериозно притеснение относно коректността на обслужването.
След проверка в публични форуми установих, че има и други клиенти със сходни случаи на невърнати депозити. Това допълнително засилва тревогата ми като потребител.
Очаквам фирмата да предприеме незабавни действия за възстановяване на дължимата сума и да даде официално обяснение за забавянето.

Ces escrocs prennent l'argent des gens sans reçu et le leur rendent. Le 26/12/2025, j'ai fait une réservation en ligne et payé via leur site web. Cinq minutes plus tard, ils m'ont appelé pour me dire qu'ils n'avaient plus de voiture. Ils continuent de me rembourser quand je les appelle tous les deux jours. J'ai des photos de tout. Ce sont des arnaqueurs, ne faites pas appel à eux. Il existe des entreprises plus honnêtes.

Avoid this rental company. After returning the car at Sofia Airport, our security deposit was later charged for alleged glass damage that was never shown or discussed at return. No damage report was signed. Company send picture before, were the damage was already there. When asked for more, better quality photo, no respond! Very poor transparency and communication. I recommend choosing a reputable international rental company and documenting everything carefully.
PS. Damage is visible in before picture. When asked for more evidence, more photos, no answer! If you are right, than provide more photos. Bank is involved.
Do not choose this rental company! This is their scheme. Disappointing

Easy Rent Bulgaria does not and has never had a practice of pressuring or blackmailing customers. All charges are clearly stated in the rental agreement, which is provided and signed before the rental begins.
Any additional amounts, if applicable, are always related to documented damages, traffic violations, fuel differences, or optional services chosen by the customer — and are communicated transparently.
Regarding the deposit, it is refunded according to the agreed terms and conditions. In certain cases, processing times may depend on banking procedures, which are outside of our direct control.

Upon picking up a car I took photos all around for proof of damages. Upon returning the car inspector and office confirmed verbally that everything was good, office confirmed the deposit refund as well.
Arrived back home and they claiming that there is a damaged now and deposit will not be returned. They added notes in a document that was plain when was presented to me to sign. Hopefully credit card company will deal with them and thankfully I’ve got photos of the damage from the day of pick up.

Very poor service. Don’t expect your deposit back. They’re cheating and asking you to pay for damages which you’ve never done. I was given a car which had 53666 miles and they claimed it had no sign of damage at the time of the rental. Avoid

The company has not provided dated pick-up photos or inspection evidence to support its claim.
No damages were recorded at the time I signed the return document.
Similar experiences reported by other customers raise further concerns.

We would like to clarify that we have never claimed the vehicle had no prior usage or history. The mileage you mention is not related to the condition of the car at the time of return.
After the completion of your rental, new damages were identified during the return inspection, which were not present or documented at the time of vehicle pick-up, as you were informed in our email correspondence. These newly identified damages were the sole basis for the charges applied, in accordance with the signed rental agreement and inspection procedure.
Filing complaints or publishing repeated allegations on multiple platforms does not change the documented facts of the case or the inspection results.

They charged us for returning the car…
They charged us for returning the car on 26 December without any prior notice, and this condition was not stated in the reservation confirmation. Our written complaint has remained unanswered. We are left with no choice but to take legal action.
Update: The fee mentioned was never stated in the terms and conditions of the contract. As a returning customer I am expecting an answer of my complain and some sort of a gesture for this inconvenient situation.

Méfiance! A la réservation on nous a obligé a prendre une assurance supplémentaire car carte de crédit/débit inacceptée (alors que ça passe partout dans le monde). Ensuite 5 mois après j'attends toujours mon remboursement de 205 € pour une caution . Difficilement joignables.
Je donne suite après la réponse de Easy Rent Bulgaria : Pour trouver l'adresse e-mail déjà c'est pas évident, il faut fouiller dans le CGV et les mentions légales du site. J'ai envoyé une demande en expliquant la situation , mais pas de réponse depuis 2 jours. Affaire à suivre ...
