Excellent service, very nice experience working with that company.
The staff works professionally and the cars are new.

We’ve used Easy Rent Bulgaria for many years and trips. The online booking is easy to use, the staff on arrival and departure are friendly and efficient. We generally choose small cars, and we’re always happy with what we get - for the price we pay. Two top tips. 1. Always take out full protection. 2. Pay the deposit in cash in euros (it’s quicker when dropping off the car. When we paid with card it did take a while to refund). Would definitely recommend.

We rented a car from EasyRent at Sofia Airport on February 12, trusting the company because it operates at the airport.

The car was returned without any issues, yet our €200 deposit was not refunded based on an alleged damage claim with no clear or verifiable evidence. The photos provided do not show any actual damage, and we did not cause any damage.

This is unfair and misleading. Based on our experience, we strongly advise others to be cautious when renting from this company.

Ich hatte mit EasyRent die schlechteste Mietwagen-Erfahrung meines Lebens. Das Auto, das ich bekommen habe, war extrem alt und in sehr schlechtem Zustand – absolut nicht das, was man erwartet.

Noch schlimmer war jedoch der Umgang mit der Kaution: Ich habe das Auto Ende des Jahres in Bulgarien gemietet und musste anschließend ganze drei Monate auf die Rückerstattung meines Deposits warten. Als Begründung wurde mir gesagt, dass ich in Leva bezahlt habe und ab dem 1. Januar der Euro eingeführt wurde – eine Ausrede, die für mich überhaupt keinen Sinn ergibt und einfach nicht akzeptabel ist.

Ich musste sogar einen Bekannten hinschicken, damit er mein Deposit persönlich abholt, weil man mir nicht sagen konnte, wann bzw. ob das Geld überhaupt überwiesen wird.

Zusätzlich waren die Mitarbeiter am Telefon sehr unfreundlich und überhaupt nicht hilfsbereit, obwohl ich mehrfach versucht habe, das Problem zu klären.

Für mich ist das ein absolutes No-Go. Ich werde definitiv nie wieder bei EasyRent mieten und kann nur jedem raten: Vorsicht!

Ich miete dort nicht zum ersten Mal einen Wagen , mal in Sofia mal in Varna. Und ich bin immer super zufrieden. Letzte Anmietung war jetzt gerade in Sofia . Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter und Autos immer top . Meine erste Anlaufstelle wenn ich mal nicht mit meinem eigenen Auto komme .

Seit 2021 Permanent schlechter. Letztes Jahr 25 in September der absolute Betrug. Flughafen Burgas ca. 23:30-24.00 Renault clio abgeholt der totale Schrott war. Auf dem Display leuchtete alles wie auf dem Tannenbaum inkl. Motor und Airbag Kontrolllampen. Am nächstem Tag brachte ich das Auto zurück und sagte in 1 Woche brauche ich noch ein Auto aber bitte kein Schrott. Ich bekam 3 Jahre altes auch Renault clio. War alles ok. Bei der Rückgabe der Schock. Ein Mitarbeiter brachte das Auto alleine zu Parkplatz und sagte eine Delle gefunden zu haben. Diese habe ich mich angeschaut und bin mir sicher der Mitarbeiter machte diese selber um die Kaution von 200€ zu kassieren.

We then asked to cancel and never in my life have I been spoken to and threatened in such an awful way. I was really scared. I wrote the start of this review whilst waiting and he said I had to take it down and refused to give any refund until I did, other men then turned up and stood in the doorway so we just had to leave in fear. Without a refund and without a car.

Edit: The response from them, taken with the many negative review provided by others, show why these guys should be avoided at all costs. Liars, crooks and scammers. Please avoid.

In addition as a response to the below. Firstly, this is indicative of their behaviour, taking no accountability or responsibility and ignoring the most serious parts of our experience. That aside to be clear we booked and arrived just before 9am and left just before 11am. The process was never explained and when waiting for the car to arrive we were told “it’s been cleaned and is on the way” for over half an hour before they even bothered to check where the car was and discovered it was not in fact “on the way” so took us back to the rental agreement office. This is when the intimidation then took place.

At every interaction they tried to scam me.

- First they said I had to pay for extra insurance (€500) even though my booking did not include it.
- After refusing to pay the extra insurance they offered to cancel my booking so i could make a new one. A same day booking was gonna be another €600...
- I called the booking system company who made them give me the car as I booked it. But then they took €2000 deposit there and then instead of making a card block.

- When I returned the car they refused to check it with me and said deposit would be returned in 20 days.
- As I was worried about the deposit they Gaslit me when i asked them to come check the car with me...
- Instead they made me sign a document in Bulgarian and lied to me about what it was.

- Never paid back my deposit and when chased they made up some crap about damages so they would keep the whole deposit. Didn't even give me an invoice or specific details of damages (although the part mentioned was €50 to buy online)

- A month later I see on Google they are charging someone else €2000 for the exact same part on the same car.

Considering I spoke to different people and received the same treatment. It seems they have organised scripts and routines to scam you whatever way they can.

Avoid at all costs.

Didnt release the deposit of 1500eur! I rang them and asked about it. They answer was clear - you didnt take the insurance with us.
They told me that i made some new damages. I proved that i havent made it. The photos shows that.
The send me the car return report. That was a fake document!!!! You simply cant do that. We will report to police and authorities.

This car rental company is a total SCAM. It has been 2 months and 6 days that they have not cleared my deposit of 300 euro back. Always with the excuse that they just entered the EU. AVOID THEM AT ONCE! And NO deposit is still not refunded 13th March, 2026!

Very disappointing experience with this rental company.

I have repeatedly asked them to provide basic documents related to my rental, including the repair invoice/estimate, the rental agreement, and the vehicle return inspection report, and they refuse to send them despite multiple requests.

As a customer coming from France, this lack of transparency is extremely concerning. Any professional rental company should be able to provide these documents without hesitation.

If the situation is not resolved quickly, I will have no choice but to escalate this matter to consumer protection authorities and share my experience more widely.

I strongly advise future customers to be cautious when dealing with this company.

Terrible company! My deposit is still not returned (car returned 24 Dec 2025) and despite calling them multiple times and being told I’ll get it back, still nothing. The last time I called them the guy hung up on me. I’ve opened a case with the Bulgarian ombudsman. I’d avoid them at all cost!

Very nice experience in the airport of Sofia.The guys were very helpful and upgraded us free of charge, no issues with the security deposit

Terrible atitude. I rented a car from them on the 20th Dec 2025 and I am still waiting for my deposit. I first communicated with them directly and have it in writing that I should have a full refund. A month later than the contractual period, here I am, still waiting for my money. Their explanation that the deposit was in BGN and now that the country has adopted the EUR has caused them operational difficulties is not correct as all accounts held in BGN were automatically converted to EURs. The never answer the phones either.

Simply avoid - just book a well established company and avoid the cowboys. Lesson learned...

And to avoid doubt - I have reported them for fraud to my credit card provider, to the Commission for Consumer Protection in Sofia and I am also suing them in court. Won't make money, but the headache that it will cause them is worth it..
