Cumbrian Cottage Holidays Arvostelua 

Had a great stay at Black Bull Barn. Friendly comms, lovely abode, stunning area of the country.

The cottage provided everything we needed. it has a lovely garden to sit in. It is clean and well kept. Comfy bed and plenty of room upstairs. Off road parking is in a good safe position at the back. It was quiet and only a few minutes to walk in to Pooley Bridge. Would book again if in that area.

Old Belfield makes a great base for exploring Bowness, Lake Windermere and the Lakes. We enjoyed 4 nights in this beautiful cottage that is full of character and has everything needed for a very comfortable stay. The location is very peaceful with lots of space inside and out. It is walking distance to the centre of Bowness and its plentiful restaurants and amenities. The hill back is a bit steep but definitely doable (by a fairly fit couple in their 60s). I would love to return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Myrtle Cottage was absolutely beautiful and the perfect place for our weekend stay. The whole property was spotless, beautifully presented, and had everything we could possibly need. Jo and Simon were incredibly accommodating and helpful throughout our stay.

We would definitely recommend Myrtle Cottage to our friends and family and would love to return ourselves in the future.

Wonderful couple of days away.

The pictures don't do justice to the inside of the cabin, it's very luxurious inside.
We kept bi folding doors open all the time since the weather was lovely and it added to the outdoor indoor experience.
Will definitely return, thanks for a great break.

Lovely cottage with private parking and well located. Very comfortable bed and beautifully appointed.

We travel for short breaks regularly and it was unusual for us to be asked for a deposit, albeit was returned to us shortly after we vacated.

Lovely location and the house was comfortable. The only downside was a mouldy smell, particularly strong in the hallway.

Easy yo use website regular emails and excellent customer service when needed. Combine this with beautiful properties and it's definitely a company I will use again.

A great family holiday at Green Vale Lodge. Everything you need and set in beautiful surroundings.

Lovely location
Quiet and peaceful with great views.
It got 4 stars (otherwise 5 stars) only because the neighbour was cutting trees down that week we stayed (lots of buzzing) and had a fire going most of the day.
Otherwise a great place to stay.

Bungalow as described. Very comfortable and well equiped with everything you need. Very quiet location

Booking was straightforward. Easy access to cottage. Cottage was as described- well it exceed expectations. Location was great. Cannot fault company or the cottage

The information on Booking was not detailed enough. As a result we had to change cottages because the stairs were too narrow and steep for my sister to navigate.We got a tire blowout on the very steep and narrow and rough driveway going up to the cottage. As a result I had to contact Avis and get a tow truck to come. The tow truck couldn't' navigate the steep hill either and I had to drive the car on the rim down the hill, accompany the driver to Kendall and wait for a new tire to be put on and drive the car back to the cottage. The whole operation took two days. I had to knock on a stranger's door after the blowout and ask for help in the middle of his dinner. He kindly helped us get the car and our luggage up to the house. The car park was down hill from the cottage and we had to push or luggage up the hill to the cottage. None of the was described in the Booking.com. Also my sister left her hearing aids at the cottage by mistake and we were contacted by the owner that she had found them but neither she nor Cumbrian Cottages was willing to send them back to us in the States, even with our promise to pay for the shipping. They did say that it was up to us to provide all the paperwork required by the two countries and send them to them in the UK. The owner is requiring my sister to arrange for a courier in the UK to pick up the package from the owner when it is ready on one specific day. These obstacles are almost impossible to comply with so the $4000.00 hearing aids will be lost.The whole experience was a nightmare. We left the cottage early and booked another one in Coniston.

Two sets of keys would have been handy.
Bottom step outside was very slippery as a wet week, maybe something written in properly would be a good idea rather than just in the blurb.
Block off lower area near stream to make it completely secure.
We had a Lovely time and the house worked out very well and very homely. we had a good time with family and grandson . Thank you

A perfect accommodation which had everything we needed for our stay. A perfect location which was peaceful being so close to Ambleside

We needed a place to stay for the annual beer festival.
Location perfect .
The accommodation was very clean with everything you needed for the weekend.
Would recommend it for anyone

Accomodation was very clean and had all the equipment and basic start up shopping included.
It was quite a steep walk back from Bowness in the evening, which would not suit impaired visitors.
Area was very pleasant and quiet.

Location is great with beautiful views of Grasmere. it is a lovely little cottage but unfortunately there is a lack of repair/maintenance to the property which they manage for the owner. The owner confirmed they had not been told of any problems by Cumbrian yet the visitors book listed the same problems for 5 months, none of which were rectified. Freezer unusable as it had been completely iced up since February & the shower head was held together with duct tape, other were the dishwasher door held on with velcro, ripped cushions and chipped plates. Left a review on site and messaged company but received no reply. They are too eager to get you out with 4 reminders received the day before leaving to leave by 10am and list of things they expected to be done before leaving. Listing is also 'not quite true' as states 10 minute walk to local amenities when it is actually 1.3 miles so about 35 minutes. Not a great experience with them.

Great communication and helpful reminders

We stayed at Lorton View and enjoyed the stay burt there were a number of things that could be improved.
Kitchen - add kitchen scissors, kitchen towels, plate rack & hand towel.
Toilet - sink is much too small and it is even difficult to wash your hands in it let alone shave. Also the sink has no plug. Shower needs a shower mat.
Main room - heating is good but little storage for clothes. Can only get BBC iplayer on the TV and no ITVx or channels 4 & 5.
Outside the main room the step is a serious safety problem, as it is very steep and the step at the edge is very small. As a fire escape route it would be condemned.
