Chateau de la Motte Arvostelua 

Aangekomen gisteren rond 17u.
Ontvangst door een lieve dame die ons meenam naar het bruggetje en vandaar uit wees naar een huis aan de overkant van de straat.
Ik had bij mijn bongobon een upgrade gevraagd naar een king room. 25 € kostte mij dat ! Vijfentwintig extra euro's !!!

Het was een kingsize bed in een dwergenkamer.

Een mooie wandeling gemaakt door de boomgaarden. Daar heb ik echt van genoten.

Terug aangekomen in het hotel wilde ik een hapje eten maar er was letterlijk nog 1 tafeltje vrij omdat de rest gereserveerd bleek (maar dan ook niet gebruikt werd voor de rest van de avond) Uiteindelijk superlekker gegeten. Tegen 22u naar de dwergenkamer waar ik op de supergoede wifi nog een netflixke heb bekeken.

Toen kwamen de buren binnen en deden hun stinkende best om stil te zijn. Helaas gaat dat niet in een huis dat voor 70% uit hout bestaat.

00.30u eindelijk in slaap gevallen ondanks het geblaf en gejank van de hond aan de overkant en de autostrade op 6 meter van het kingsize bed in de dwergenkamer.

02u.30u... stroom valt uit in het houten huis. 1 of ander alarm gaat in storing en begint te piepen in de gang.

Aangezien ik wat technisch onderlegd ben, kan ik dat uitschakelen.
05u30: zelfde scenario... en om 7u was de autostrade en de hondenkennel terug open.

Hopelijk kan ik seffes lekker ontbijten.

It's always a joy to stay at Chateau de la Motte. This is the second time I have stayed here. This time in the midst of a cold winter. The chateau looked stunning with the moat all iced over. The house was beautifully warm and comfortable with plenty of hot water. We also had some incredible meals there too. Would always recommend staying there! It's a joy!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Chateau de la Motte. We were delighted with the property, even better than we had anticipated, and couldn't have asked for a more special location for a relaxed, fun holiday. The house is spacious, beautifully appointed and the ground are magnificent. What a treat it was - we shall definitely go back.

A fabulous and extremely comfortable chateau that is perfect for families and friends to enjoy an escape in France. The house is so well thought out and has a great kitchen and there are lots of rooms to entertain large groups of people but it also doesn't feel empty if you are are only a small number. There is a very large garden and a tennis court, swimming pool and ping pong room that provide lots of entertainment. I have really enjoyed my stays at this house and would highly recommend it to anyone.

We spent a wonderful few days in Château de la Motte where it was like home from home. We explored the countryside, visited vineyards and thoroughly immersed ourselves in the French way of life. Oh, and lazy days by the pool too. Can’t recommend a bit of Château living highly enough.

We have stayed at Chateau de la Motte many times over the past 10 years, and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. It's gorgeous as a self contained hideaway with everything you need (endless beautiful rooms, lawns, woods, tennis courts, a swimming pool...) or as a base for exploring the charming towns, stunning countryside and wine cellars which surround it. We've loved it with babies, small children, and now our teenagers - there seem to be things with delight every age group, from the fish in the moat to the baths with feet, the endless sofas to loll on, to the croquet and other lawn games to the late nights with a bit too much wine by the fireside or in the garden. Booking this is one of the best decisions you can make.

Chateau de la Motte is a little paradise! A beautifully elegant place, and at the same time so comfortable. It feels like a home, not just a house - warm and welcoming. Whether cozying up by the wood fire in the kitchen or taking long walks in the neighbouring woods, the days pass far too quickly here. Though there is plenty to do in the surrounding area, we hardly ever wanted to leave. This is a truly special place for enjoying great times with good friends or family and of course great wine, champagne and food. Highly recommend as a wonderful getaway!

We've stayed here twice for New Year when the snow flakes came down as we cracked open the Champagne by the roaring fire. It may sound cliched but it really was like this. Truly magical. We returned for my father's 70th birthday and welcomed family and friends for a week long celebration. The sun shone and we explored Champagne, Burgundy and Troyes. Chateau de la Motte is that rare find - a grand and beautiful home, but one that feels homely. We have many wonderful memories and look forward to our next visit.

I love arriving at Chateau de la Motte, it’s so beautiful and it’s always such a joy to stay in such a serene and stunning location. My favourite place to sit is in the drawing room, reading a book and feeling so comfortable whatever the time of year. October is as stunning as April, always something to do whether it be admire the local countryside, a game of tennis or a glass of cool, crisp local champagne. A home from home and very much a heart stealer.
