Wish I read the reviews before purchasing. Ordered a suit for £99 that looked nothing like the pictures when it arrived, poor quality, not vaguely similar. Then kept offering me refunds of part of the cost to stop me returning and claiming for a full refund. Then I sent the item back tracked and they are saying “it might be lost in transit” so can’t refund. Scam

Absolute SCAM ARTISTS AVOID! I ordered what should’ve been a smart cotton cardigan with a collar however over three weeks later I received what I can only describe as a cheap oversized blazer if I can even call it that! The original photo showing what I thought I’d ordered was night and day to what I received, an absolute disgrace. If I was able to upload a photo of a comparison you would laugh your head off. Don’t waste your time trying to contact them as they are based in the far east however PLEASE contact your bank, credit card provider or whoever you use and open a dispute and if your not successful appeal as you are highly likely to receive a refund and stop these scam clowns from conning us

WARNING: Chaps of London – Avoid this Company!

I ordered a waistcoat from Chaps of London that was advertised with an adjustable back strap, but the item I received was not as described. This is a clear breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

❌ Refused to provide a UK return address (despite being a UK-registered company).

❌ Forced me to return the item to China at my expense, which is illegal under UK law.

❌ Repeatedly tried to avoid a refund, offering 15%, 20%, and 25% refunds instead of processing a full refund as legally required.

UK buyers, beware! I am filing complaints with Trading Standards and ASA and have initiated a chargeback with my payment provider. If you've been misled too, report them.

💥 DO NOT BUY FROM CHAPS OF LONDON! 💥

A joke. DONT BUY. Over a month to arrive. Two sizes too big. No return address in UK. Refused to pay return postage. Offered 10% discount. They are Chinese traders claiming to be British. It is a trading standards abuse.

I wish I had seen the other reviews of this company of con men and 'shifters' BEFORE i ordered from them. Like others, I assumed they were London based. I had an email to say that delivery would be 7-10 days but the item has just arrived after over 4 weeks! When tracking the item I could see that it was coming from China - I have paid £44 for a pair of shoes worth £15 at the most. The contact telephone number is somewhere in France! A bunch of con artists!!

Same as everybody else - ordered item of the nice website, took about 3 weeks to arrive - didn’t realise it was shipping from China - wrong item arrived asked for refund in multiple emails back and forth - latest was them offering 150% refund on purchasing something else - ending up having to claim money back from bank which thankfully they accepted.

Keep well clear…

Absolute scam coat not as seen online came from china cheap tat took two weeks to arrive….. can’t get a reply for sending it back AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!

Dreadful company. Steer clear of them. Classy looking website. That’s when the class stops. Near impossible to get a refund. They are based in China not London. Took several emails and a photograph of the goods I bought for them to even inform me of the returns process.They offer you discounts on future purchases or 10% refund if you don’t return the item. They then up that bit by bit still without telling you how to return. After far too many time consuming emails I eventually settled on a 25% refund whilst keeping the item which I wasn’t keen on (cheap material and poor fitting). Only did this as I wasn’t confident by this point a refund would happen.

This company is based in China - nowhere near London. Nothing to do with London with a contact number for France. I ordered a pair of shorts which took nearly 3 weeks to arrive and they were mislabelled as Medium - but would have suited someone XXL.
Dealing with their Customer Service is quite frankly painful to say the least. My advice is do not buy, do not deal with this company. A wise friend once told 'buy cheap, buy twice' - this is so true in this context. Don't be fooled!

Further to previous review, I contacted the company regarding a refund, they initially offered me a 75% discount on a further purchase but had to pay full postage back to china of useless product if I ordered something else, obviously I refused, they then offered a 15% refund, complete joke and Absolute con of a company, I had to give 1 star as 0 is not available

Do not order from this company no matter how attractive the prices or item might be. The quality of the items are very poor. The return process is actually non existent. They will want you to take a 25% refund as the products have to be returned to China. But in order to book a return to China from the UK you need a TAX ID from the receiver in China as per customs regulations. I have requested this from the company 5 times now and they are just simply not providing it to me so there is no way to send it back and you will never get a full refund back. It is a pure con. Stay away from these types of companies. They will easily change the name of the company and continue to operate.

Hi, I ordered 5 pairs of woollen socks on 13/12/24 from 'Chaps of London' a company that obviously leads you to believe that they are a London based. The socks didn't arrive until 2 weeks after Christmas and had been delivered from China. Obviously It was too late to give them as gifts, and, in my opinion, were of very poor quality. I made contact with 'Chaps' via email and voiced my concerns and I was provided with a contact telephone number in FRANCE, I enquired about returning the socks and was provided with a returns address in CHINA and the return postage would be at my cost.
Chaps initially offered me a 10% refund which I declined, and eventually accepted a 25% refund.
Also, according to Companies House the Director of the company lives in the Netherlands. It's hardly a London based company.
I would suggest that you purchase goods from this company with caution as it is not what it appears to be on the website.
