My brother bought a birthday cake , when it arrived it looked quite impressive , well packaged

Unfortunately the icing tasted like plastic and the thing was totally inedible , shockingly bad

Utterly revolting and cost about 60 quid

I can only assume the 5 star reviews are from bots etc , they all seem to have 1 or 2 reviews at most ..

I never write reviews, but in order for no-one else to waste their money, I strongly recommend you go elsewhere. The cake looked lovely but was inedible and went in the bin. Filled with fake stuff and apparently tasted strange. It was supposed to be a Victoria Sponge, how difficult is that?!!
Shame as the staff were really nice and it was supposed to be great in a hurry. (I can see how they can manage it now - I might as well have bought plastic!)

...in response to your response; you haven't read what I wrote, there was nothing wrong with customer service. It was the recipe!? I'm in touch with your "experience" team and have let them know what a Victoria sponge is because what turned up was horrible apparently.

So looking forward to my refund.

Ordered Bourbon cake they messaged they have run out of bourbon biscuits and they can use Lotus biscoff biscuits i said we don't eat the biscuits can you use custard cream.They delivered a completely wrong ordered chocolate cake and got vanilla cake i have complained to the complain department on 15th september and no response.I need my full refund.

I had place a birthday cake order for delivery for 11/09/21 for a 2 year olds party. I had called them and they said it would be delivered 7-7:30pm which I was not too happy about as it was a 2 year old birthday party. But then it got even worse when I rang back at 8pm and I was told that it would be delivered between 9 to 9:30pm as I was the last customer. What happened to the 8am to 8pm slot, why are we paying for delivery if it extends the time slot plus they don’t give any compensation or a refund.
Now it’s nearly 10pm and my kids are sleeping and everyone has gone home, what was the point?
The customer service was terrible, they sounded like they were reading from a script and repeating the same line. I will Never Ever again order from this shamble of a company

so I ordered my sons birthday cake on the 28th of August to be delivered on the third by they said 430 but it never arrived till quarter past 10:15 kept calling them they kept changing the time and to top that off I've got the worst case in my whole life it is ruin my sons fourth birthday and I contact them to get either refund or at least a refund some of my money and they told me sorry the only thing we can do is maybe get you discount for your next cake next time you order cake with us there is no way in hell that I would ever order cake with them they are disgusting their behaviour is so nasty and I'm still not giving up they need to refund my money

Very pleased with the cake ordered for my son's birthday. The cake was very fresh and tasty. Very good customer service as well they delivered on time. I am very pleased with CAKES TODAY.

After checking out a few websites, I decided on Cakes Today for their promise of next day delivery, reasonable price for the cake and ease of order on the website. As this is my first online cake order in London, I have my concerns, however, their customer service were impressive and friendly. They even called me to confirm my order and instructions. Although they were initially unable to specify a delivery time, they did deliver my cake as requested ‘before 3pm’. The driver even sent me a message when I was his next delivery! The Belgian Chocolate cake was beautifully presented and it was absolutely delicious. The cake was so light and the Belgian chocolate cream was yummy! I would highly recommend Cakes Today to anyone.

Cake came much smaller than expected. Jam wasn't even spread through evenly, was just a dollop in the middle.
Not good value for money. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.

Beautiful cake. Delivered on time. The staff were very helpful and courteous on the phone. Car Cake which looked amazing. I would definitely recommend Cake today as their service and professionalism is impeccable and their cakes are beautiful.

Absolutely disaster. Never received any response after 3 emails were sent to this firm. They sent an email when the cake should arrive that the loory was broken and the cake will be delivered in next 48hours! The cake never arrived! no response from the company ORDER NO. #7000003285

This was a very important order and I was very happy when it arrived as ordered the next day, and was also delicious.

I ordered a cake today but I am really disappointed with the condition of the cake I received.It was all smashed and no way to use.i wanted to add the picture of the cake I received but it's not possible.please don't buy from this shop.
