This experience gently revealed a deeper layer within me—something I hadn’t been able to access before—and helped me release what felt like a lifelong burden. Since then, I’ve experienced greater clarity, sleep, emotional steadiness, and a stronger sense of alignment in my daily life.

What surprised me most is how much the retreat has deepened my therapy work. Through the Bwiti teachings, I’m now able to access things that previously felt out of reach.

This was a life changing experience for me.. As someone who had struggled with lifelong complex PTSD I had tried a lot of different anti-depressants, therapies etc.. and nothing seemed to work in the past. Iboga seemed to be the answer for me. :). I used to live with a lot of emptiness, very low frustration tolerance, constantly filled with low level anger and struggled with creating positive connections with others no matter how hard I tried. I feel a sense of joy in my every day life now. I have shed the fixations over my past flaws, have been able to forgive others, and my everyday anxieties are many levels of magnitude lower. By no means do I think that one solution is perfect for everyone. There still are aspects of my life that require care but huge improvements have been made. I would strongly advise anyone who does feel a calling to this medicine to give it a try. As a women attending on my own it was a bit nervous but David provided a safe and trusting environment for healing. I am truly grateful for this experience!

Addicted to alcohol, drugs, food, energy drinks, sex, steroids, porn, deception, manipulation, and lying to myself, I was at the end of my rope. I couldn’t try anymore. I had nothing left in me. I had a .45 in my mouth before I came to Iboga.

Today, I have and live the life I want. And not just the life I want and deserve, but with the freedom I’ve spent my whole life searching for. I’m completely free.

For many years I was addicted to cigarettes and weed and although over time, I tried various methods and modalities to stop, nothing worked. Even though quitting was always on my mind, it seemed too big of an obstacle to tackle.

I heard Iboga was very effective in healing addictions so I was really hoping it would do it for me even though I was sceptical. To my tremendous surprise it actually worked. It’s been almost 3 months now that I’m completely smoke free! I truly feel this wouldn’t have been possible without Iboga.

Somehow the mental anxiety associated with quitting was gone, although some effort was still required on my part not to smoke. It’s as if my mind was reset and shifted to one of a non smoker in just 2 Iboga sessions.

That being said, I’m not sure that the many years of wanting to stop along with everything I had previously tried as well as my clear intention and goal didn’t contribute to the successful outcome. In any case, I’m so grateful and thankful for the experience and result.

As for the retreat, I have to admit, the processing days were quite challenging for me. The stress I felt seemed to outweigh any potential benefits. In my opinion, quiet time in nature and/or guided meditations would make that part of the retreat more conducive to a deeper connection to self and at the same time, more pleasant.

Other than that, everything else was pretty great including David and Catherine, fire talks, meals, activities as well as spending time with my two amazing friends.

David created a safe and focused space, provided solid support when needed, and allowed me the solitude necessary to do my work.

David and Catherine were kind, caring, sincere and professional while offering a very traditional healing experience.
One complaint, too much great food and too little exercise!

I left the retreat as a different person with a clear head and a solid, new direction. The week was incredibly hard, but I am so glad that I dared to follow my intuition and attend this life-changing retreat.

What a powerful medicine and couldn’t have asked for a better provider David O’Brien. He is so so passionate with his attention to details and his knowledge from all his training He had in Africa studying the Bwit traditions and the ceremonies were really powerful and beautiful. The experience while there was nice and David means well. The energy at the retreat is very masculine and I was told very different on my interview. But honestly it has done nothing for me. In my after sessions I was told I had to change the way I think. If I could do that on my own I would not have spent thousands of dollars. I have been told I have to change the way I think by many therapists. I needed something to help reprogram me. Iboga was not it.

It’s genuine and comes directly from its place of origin. They put in significant effort to enhance your experience and ensure you get exactly what you need.
