I have used BullionVault for a number of years and find them to be consitent and reliable never really had any negative issues, the utmost importance is to hold Physical Gold and Silver also Platinum, Paladium in a secure way with legally binding protection, i am able to convert that precious metal back into Fiat currency 24/7 if extra cash is required.
Overall they are trust worthy and legitimate this gives me peace of mind knowing i hold physical metal in secure storage and having 24/7 convertability into

It would appear that this transaction was concluded by BullionVault is excess of the normal bids which was very much in my favour, for which I am most grateful. I don't understand the process but this is most recommendable.

Many thanks for your review, we're glad you're pleased with your recent deal.
Every order you place on BullionVault's marketplace is a "limit order". This means you will never buy for more or sell for less than the price you set.
But all orders are also matched "at best". This means that you always get the cheapest bullion first when you buy and, when you sell, you always get the very highest prices being bid by other users.
The result is that you, as a buyer, may well get a lower price than you set. And as a seller, you may well receive more than your limit.

Bullion Vault is a reliable and absolutely genuine company, which uses financial technology (since about 2012) to enable Joe Public to buy and sell Gold and Silver, which is held in professional vaults. There is no VAT payable. Prices are near to the wholesale prices that big institutions buy Gold at. The IT is very reliable; so are the very secure banking arrangements. We're proud of our low fees, and advertise them clearly across our site. But we do advise that smaller purchases may need adding to, to make your investment efficient over the longer term.
That's because, after you pay our low 0.5% commission to buy or sell, custody (including insurance) is then 0.01% per month for gold, subject to a $4 minimum (around £3 at present) and 0.04% per month for silver, subject to an $8 minimum (£6).
While those custody fees are the lowest we believe you will find, we do as a result recommend avoiding overall investments below $2,000 (£1,500) in our homepage FAQs. We also proactively reach out to customers on a monthly basis where their bullion holdings are below this threshold. In your case, we contacted you on 16 separate occasions to suggest reviewing the size of your holdings.

A reliable company that is easy to deal with and with unbeatable low fees for buying selling and vaulting. However with new closer government scrutiny on tax liability and the recent rises in gold value your investment is not particularly tax friendly

BOTS IN PLACE TO YOUR DISADVANTAGE
How strange is it that when you watch the silver, gold, and other metals charts, you often see a wide spread between the buying and selling prices — yet the moment you sell, you immediately notice bids on the order board increasing, often rising close to the spot price? Likewise, after you buy, you suddenly see selling prices on the order board dropping. So what exactly is happening?
What appears to be happening is this: when you sell, BullionVault seems to encourage or pressure bidders to place higher bids so that the company can quickly resell what was sold to them. Conversely, when you buy, prices appear to be artificially suppressed, almost pressuring sellers to lower their asking prices so that BullionVault can step in and buy back at prices below what they previously sold for.
BullionVault may claim that this is not done by humans but by automated bots. However, those bots did not descend from the moon programmed to behave this way; BullionVault programmed them to their advantage, and naturally they operate in BullionVault’s interests.
I consider this to be an unfair practice, and financially it may well breach regulatory standards and obligations. In any event, I have noticed this pattern and I am far from happy about it. It places BullionVault’s clients at a disadvantage, intentionally, by design, and with full awareness.

In any marketplace it's far from uncommon for a recent seller to wish that they had asked more money, or for a recent buyer to wish they had waited a little longer. But the only thing which BullionVault can control on the live Order Board is its own trading bots. We have no way to 'pressure' or 'encourage' any other user to bid or ask at anything other than a price of the client's own choosing.
On the contrary, all users - including you - have the advantage, unique in retail-investor precious metals, of freely accepting an existing order or setting your own bids and asks as you wish.
This open competition means that we cannot control the market price. It also means that you never need to accept the market spread. Instead, you can come inside it, offering to sell (for example) at a higher price than the current Best Bid but cheaper than the current Best Offer:

This gives you the opportunity to get a better price, and it provides a better price to buyers, too. Your new offer also has the effect of narrowing the trading spread, and any other user who wishes to sell before you can only do so by offering at a lower price, thereby narrowing the spread still further.
Regarding our own trading bots, they are just one set of users among 130,000 on BullionVault. Each of our bots is assigned a small quantity of cash and metal from our trading inventory, so that it can quote both a buy price and a sell price 24/7. At any given moment, and tracking the wholesale spot-market price taken from the same data feeds as the live price charts we provide, each bot's asking price will of course be higher than its bid price. On having an order matched, the bot will then adjust the spread on its next set of quotes in line with whether it is accumulating more cash or more metal. That is entirely opposite to the pattern you claim to have seen:
