A very helpful company
This is a really helpful and professional company. They handled my queries with courtesy. The main problems I had were with depositing money after the initial deposit by debit card and I had real problems with that. They didn't accept a debit card for any further lodgements and so I found myself in web and tech waters that I'm not well equipped to navigate. It was eventually sorted.

Not suitable for Small Investors
I invested in Silver having reviewed several brokers before deciding on BullionVault. My overall experience was very positive. The one big thing for me as a very small investor are the monthly charges incurred to store the commodity. If you only invest with small amounts, the charges will very quickly wipe out the investment. I will now decide whether to purchase physical silver and incur a once only VAT charge. It will probably be worthwhile for a small investor like myself.

You pay a low 0.5% commission when you trade, and storage (which always includes insurance) is 0.01% per month for gold (subject to a $4 minimum, approx. £3) and 0.04% per month for silver (subject to an $8 minimum, approx. £6).
While those custody fees are the lowest we believe you will find, we do as a result recommend avoiding overall investments below £1,500 ($2,000), as set out in our homepage FAQs. We also proactively reach out to customers on a monthly basis where their bullion holdings are below this threshold. In your case, we contacted you on nine separate occasions to suggest reviewing the size of your holdings.
