Broke in less than 2 days, resolved almost 1 month later

Broke in less than 2 days. The frames are so flimsy and not screwed in well. You can see the screw isn't holding onto the arms of the frame straight when they're open.
By end of day 1, the screw connecting the arm was bending out on the right arm. By middle of day 2, pieces of the frame surrounding the screw were chipping because it couldn't hold the arm in well. End of day 2, the arm broke off when I opened it. Don't buy. They are so cheaply made.

I wrote customer service about replacing it, but they never responded. Disappointing.

Will update you once I have a full response and details in a week.

Update:
Had taken 2 to 3 days to respond each time. They've offered to ship a replacement. I'm waiting to see if it is sent and made properly. Will update and change the review accordingly if I receive them and then have worn them for a few days.

Further update:
Barner offered to replace the glasses, and almoat 2 weeks, they told me they'd only ship the frames and sent a video on how to replace the lenses. To be honest, 2 days earlier I almost threw away the glasses, so they really should have communicated 2 weeks earlier that they wouldn't ship the lenses because most people would throw away the lenses. Not happy about the lack of communication and the speed of it, if I'm being honest. I was lucky I didn't throw the broken frames away 3 weeks earlier. Anyways, I got a tracking ID sent to me and received the shipment. I used their video to replace the lenses on my own which was easy. In the end, I'd give this 3*.

The spotty communication and not being told to hold onto my broken glasses for 3 weeks is a big downfall.

My original order took 1 week even with 2 day express. Shipping is slower for prescription eye glasses. Then a replacement took 3 to 4 weeks, which is much too long.

If you're not in a hurry, you can try them out. The glasses are pretty affordable, and second pair i received were much better. If something happens to be wrong with the frames or glasses, Barner will likely respond, but it will take some time to resolve any issues.

I've worn them for 3 weeks and the new pair is holding up.

Light, softouch, comfortable, stylish.

I absolutely adore Barner! I own four pairs of their glasses myself and wholeheartedly recommend them to all my friends. Before discovering Barner, I used to hate wearing glasses, always eager to take them off as soon as possible. However, their glasses are incredibly lightweight and feel so comfortable to touch that I hardly even notice I'm wearing them.

I really love this brand

I really love this brand. I already ordered my 4th pair of glasses. I need reading classes and have quite a few other brands that cost me hundreds of Euros. The Barner glasses beat them all in looks and comfort to wear. Plus they have a great anti blue light coating. I can only recommend their products.

Discoloured frames looks very dirty

STAY AWAY. Very expensive for the poor quality. BROKEN in a week then replaced- However their frame Discoloured during the time, gone yellowish and sticky it looks very dirty and collect the dust. It’s impossible to use it. Unfortunately it cover by guarantee as it’s been 2+ years customer service offered %10 discount instead of replacing these faulty items.

thank you for your feedback and we are very sorry for the experience that you went through with the glasses.

From the time that you have purchased the frames - July 2020 - we have replaced the broken frames without any costs right after they have been broken, even though damages and accidents are not being covered by the Warranty.

And the discolored frames after three years of use, unfortunately, are not covered, as there are many factors that could cause that defect to appear: is not cleaning the frames properly using the dedicated microfiber cleaning cloth and using other materials like clothes (the bottom part of the t-shirt is quite common), or colorful cloth from other brands and products. Or if it occurs on the parts of the frame that are touching the nose/cheeks it might be caused by the active cosmetic ingredients (such as retinoids, acids: salicylic, glycolic, lactic, etc.).

Barner Brand warrants to the consumer that for two years from the date of purchase glasses will be replaced or repaired for any product that is defective in materials or workmanship. Unfortunately, you placed your order more than two years ago, so it's not covered anymore.

Nevertheless, as we truly appreciate our customers and brand supporters and we have provided you with a discount to purchase a new frame, as well as we have replaced it three years ago outside of our policies.

Simply excellent. Prescription glasses are incredibly precise.

I bought a pair of Ginza blue lens glasses and they are simply perfect. I worked in the optic field (brands as Kaleos, Kuboraum, Nina Mur, Raen, Lool, Andy Wolf and many more) and I must say the Barner quality is so far excellent. Spanish brands are doing really a great job lately, kudos to you. I am now waiting for prescription glasses from them and my expectations are really over the moon!

I read some of the 1star reviews and they are just about customer service and mostly during covid time, as well as people writing that after 3 years they got damaged and “collected dust” 😂 are you serious or just trying to get old frames (that you didn’t care for properly) replaced for free?

Glasses and frames are top-notch

Received Barner's (Dalston, Rocoleta) glasses quickly via GLS. I like all three models very much. Luckily for me, all three glasses that I ordered fit me exactly. weight is also great and exactly how I wanted it. The design is top-notch. I have no regret about the €198 that I spent on this particular order (same measurement but three different frames).

I love BARNER!

I received my glasses within around a week. I was so excited and impatient to have it. Barner products are great and come with the best quality. Worth the money. I love these and can recommend without any hesitation. Rather than just going for screen glasses, clip on sunglasses is a valuable option you can consider.
Although it was kinda difficult to contact the customer support, Rosa from customer care division did a great job and special thank goes to you Rosa! ❤️🙌🏼

Horrible customer experience!!!!

I've purchased two items from the website and then I was asked by DHL to pay extra duty fees (item delivered to the UK). I wasn't aware but it is partially my fault as I didn't realise there will be duty fees).

Anyway, I sent an email to customer support telling them and asked them to cancel and refund the order and get the item returned. Their customer support took copy/paste from their FAQ about the duty fees and sent it to me and completely ignored my request for the refund. I sent another email clearly asking for cancellation and refund and I haven't had any answer. I asked them on their Instagram page for help, still nothing.

Two months ago I emailed their customer support team about the exact name of one of their stores in London because I went there and couldn't find it and they responded back with the same information that is on the website! When I messaged their Instagram team, they told me that the store has actually shutdown and no longer available.

What is even the point of having customer service if they don't resolve customer issues? Your customer service representatives are not well-trained, unprofessional and completely unhelpful. Until today, I am unable to get anything that help me resolve the issue. Even DHL told me that they tried to contact the retailer and didn't get a response back. You don't become a successful brand with only great products but you need to make sure that customers issue are being resolved quickly and effectively.

We are very sorry for the initla response delay, we are dealing with inquiries in chronological order, so when a customer sends every new message it goes to the end of the queue as a "new request", impacting the response time.
We offer free shipping on orders above 85 Euros but, this only includes the price to send the package to you. From the time the courier picks up the parcel at our warehouse, they charge us the shipping fee even if the order is not delivered because the customer refused it. Then, the courier also charges to return the shipment to us, we do not profit from returns.

Please, bear in mind that our company is from Spain, EU, and, only countries within the EU countries won't charge import taxes when buying online. Customers from other countries might be subjected to the local fes and customs duties established by the local government.

Nevertheless, because you were not aware of this procedure and, we understand this is not something usual to happen, we have requested DHL to send us back the package, we covered the return shipping fee and provided you with full refund,

We wish you a good day, and we are sorry for the negative impression that you received.

Greedy and anti-customer

Have bought three or four pairs from them.
I snapped an arm off my last pair and asked if they could fix. They said no. I have to buy another pair. (actually they should have sold me a new frame but they got greedy).
The new glasses were sent with a different prescription. Unusable.
They won't respond to my emails. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Some of the prescription cases require a second opinion from the local optics, because being an online shop we need to make sure that the lenses you are receiving are exactly the ones that were requested during the purchase process. And after the order is shipped to the customer it is possible only with the optical expertise in your city. Once it's done we are more than happy to resolve the issue caused by our Lab or by introducing the incorrect values by the customer, depending on the case. Those cases are an exception and not happening often, we are very sorry that it has occurred to your order.

We appreciate your patience and collaboration while resolving the inquiry, and we hope to have it fixed as soon as possible.

Poor customer service and duties spoil a great product…

Terrible company or at least the customer service is. Ordered glasses but immediately realised I had made a mistake (requested non prescription glasses but meant to order prescription). But the only way to contact Barner is via email to their support team and you immediately get an email back saying it takes 48-72 hours to respond. Excluding weekends! So a 2-3 turnaround. 4-5 days if you make the mistake of ordering on a Saturday- heaven forbid we do that!

Meanwhile the incorrect glasses turn up. 3 days later I get an email from the service team saying I can order prescription lenses and they will pay the delivery costs. I accept that offer and 4 days later I’m still waiting for the service rep to send me the link to order prescription lenses. Pathetic. Beef up your customer service team. Better still allow customers to amend their orders online.
As of today I am still waiting despite another email to which I did receive an automated reply saying there was no point in chasing tickets because of the long reply cycles. Ridiculous.

Sort out your customer service process otherwise you’ll end up with no customers.

13.7.23 = An update to the above review - since this complaint Barner have assigned a customer service agent to my issue who was able to rectify all the issues in a timely fashion - however, and this is directed at UK customers - the final insult to the above injury is that the prescription glasses attracted customs duty of approx £50!! TBF when I complained to Barner they did offer me two options - to return the glasses at their cost or pay 1/3 of the tax. I opted for the latter and the glasses finally arrived. Ironically they are very good but the above issue slightly overwhelmed the product quality. Based on their eventual response to my complaints I've upgraded my review to 2.5
