Neil is our go-to person for booking our holidays. Always speedy, efficient (and patient!) when we're drawing up plans. Away were also very good when refund was needed when you couldn't travel to the Middle East earlier in the year. Also, prices are always super competitive for the Middle East. Would recommend

Booked a holiday to Dubai for September 2026
Paid a £300 pound deposit in December 2025
Because of the ongoing war in Iran we felt it wasn’t safe to go I asked away holidays if we could get our deposit back because the circumstances are different but they said the rules are the rules and if you cancel the deposit is gone
We both feel this is so wrong and unfair Iran is 90 miles from Dubai and safety is paramount the war is not stopping any time soon by the look of it very very dissapointed with away holidays that’s for sure especially jackbooted with them for so many years

Paid nearly 5k for a holiday and they didn’t send a booking confirmation or payment confirmation or confirmation of flights. When I complained they refused to log it and refused to refund me as well! They claimed

I have just booked another holiday with Alex from Away holidays. As with previous holidays he delivered outstanding service from start to finish. He took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and offered useful recommendations and advice. He also gave us a very good price. Phoned and spoke to Alex, he was very polite and helpful, listened to what I wanted and then gave his recommendations, Gave me details of when I could reach him and when he was engaged he phoned me back within a few minutes.
Overall very pleased with the results and feel confident in what I have booked.

Very disappointing experience with Away Holidays.

They were quick to respond to emails when I was booking and paying the deposit, but when I later contacted them about cancelling and asked about a refund, the communication changed completely. I had to chase for a response, and it felt like radio silence once I was no longer making a booking.

I paid a £300 deposit for a Dubai holiday booked months in advance. Due to the current travel advice and uncertainty in the region, I no longer felt comfortable travelling and asked for the deposit to be refunded. They refused.

I understand companies have terms and conditions, but the lack of communication and unwillingness to properly engage with my concerns has left a very poor impression. Based on my experience, I would not book with them again.

Very Impressed Again.

This is the second time I’ve used Away Holidays and once again I’m impressed. I like the personal touch, where you can deal with the same person throughout (this time, thanks Ian). The efficiency is excellent, also for Dubai I find Away Holidays very competitive vs the really big players like TUI. They are ATOL protected and you have all the usual protections.

Tends to be the first company I check when looking at a long haul destination

Alex was very knowledgeable.

My booking experience with Alex was truly unbelievable. When you are booking the holiday of a lifetime then he is the type of person you want and need to handle it. We had an excellent experience booking our family holiday with Ian. From the very beginning, he was calm, patient, professional, and a true gentleman. Urgent: Unresolved £20,238.88 Refund - Breach of Package Travel Regulations (Ref: 76673)
I am posting this as Away Holidays (Southall Travel Ltd) has failed to provide the full refund legally owed for my cancelled package holiday (Invoice No: 76673).
While the flight portion has been refunded, the remaining £20,238.88 for the hotel and transfers remains outstanding. As the "Package Organiser," Away Holidays is in clear breach of the Package Travel Regulations 2018, which mandate a full refund within 14 days
On 2nd April and 20th April I was verbally promised a full refund by agent. I have submitted a legal Subject Access Request (SAR) for this call recording.
Ignored Correspondence: I have sent multiple formal complaints and a 7-day deadlock notice, all of which have been ignored.
I would not recommend anyone use this company and avoid at all costs

I am sorry to say on my recent trip to Agadir Away Holidays were really poor.
Having paid top dollar to Away Holidays for this trip - knowing other agents were offering the same trip, same time same hotel for at least £250 less - I trusted Away Holidays,from past experience, to provide a trip that was as enjoyable as previous trips abroad I had booked with them.
Not so.
The Agadir hotel - the Agadir Beach Club- had no air conditioning working and the hotel wifi was virtually non existent.
For a hotel recommended by Away Holidays for the modern traveller in 2026 this is an unacceptably low standard.
Away Holidays asked me to get a statement re these issues from the hotel manager which I did .
The Agadir hotel manager admitted to me these were known issues which he could do nothing about.
I requested something of a refund from the hotel.
The manager said no.
I reported this to Away Holidays, asked them for something of a refund, and after three weeks of procrastination such as ‘we are still waiting for your hotel to reply’ they finally too said No refund .
I know from past experience with Away Holidays they pride themselves in maintaining high standards.
But my experience in this hotel was exremely well below par.
And Away Holidays response to my poor experience has been pathetic.
Please respect your customers more Away Holidays 👎
I will not use Away Holidays again if I am treated this shabbily.

We booked our holiday in January 2026 with Ian from Away holidays. He had been recommended by a family member and gave us the best customer service and price. He found us exactly the holiday and hotel we were looking for and the whole holiday went perfectly for us. Couldn’t have asked for more!

I have been booking my holidays with Away holidays for several years now. I always prefer to deal with Ian he gives great support throughout the booking process and will try to get you the best deal.

I would highly recommend him.
