Northgate Insurance Services Arvostelua 

Northgate Insurance services Glasgow is a lying terrible organisation to deal with.
We had an accident when someone drove into the side of our car in May 2026 and we've had issues with the repair work done.
Its now September 24th 2026 and we've had the misfortune of dealing with Northgate Glasgow for a hire replacement vehicle whilst ours is in the Garage again for repairs.
Northgate Glasgow provided us with a car via our insurance company Directline and we have specific medical needs where we have bags of medical equipment that need to be transported when travelling in the car.
The vehicle did not have a Parcel Shelf provided and the boot space is exposed, and if I leave stuff exposed in the car (holdalls, rucksacks etc) this would put us at risk of having the broken into. So we are now resorting to having to take the bags out of the car and into smaller bags and carry them with us everywhere. This is a nightmare.
Spoke to Northgate to try and get a parcel shelf and they told us there isnt one available and they would 'swap us out' for another vehicle.
2 days later, ring them up for an update and came across a woman by the name of Ka** (she gave me 2 different names for herself, one being Ca**), who accused me of lying about the whole situation and I was never told about a swap of a car, her colleagues would never lie and accused me of making things up.
I asked her to listen to the phone call recordings to which she said they dont record any calls (another lie) and then she wouldn't provide me an email to make a formal complaint, I asked to speak to a manager and she told me he was out of the office (another lie) and that the guy I spoke to is denying our conversation (another lie).
Miraculously the manager (who i later discovered is their team leader, Cr***) took the phone ( and told me her real name (Ka**), confirmed they do record calls, told me the person I spoke to was off work and not in the office (she lied about that too) and said they suddenly do have a parcel shelf and that I should collect it, although its their responsibility to sort the issue out.
If you ever have the misfortune to deal with the Glasgow branch, and specifically someone called Ka**, make sure you record your calls with them and you have proof. They will lie to you, accuse you of lying and deny they ever said the things they did. They are a despicable team in that office.
Shame on Directline of having associates like these.

Shocking service. A vehicle they provided as hire through Tesco insurance developed a fault on the door where it wouldn't close. Was a latch issue. On a 75 plate car.

They couldn't have this repaired roadside so had to have it recovered. Was taken on a sunday was told there was a replacement vehicle ready. Then called me back to say there was no replacement and that would be sorted with the branch on Monday. Rang on Monday to sort and told there were no cars for a minimum 24-48 hours.

Told me to "use taxis and public transport to pick up my kids and travel to work" as though this is convenient when people are on tight schedules as it is. Told me to ring them back and keep chasing to see if one was available sooner. Makes no sense. Like they dont live in the real world.

Edit. Sophie called me back and sorted the problem out in a professional and thorough manner. Much appreciated for sorting so quickly.

Great communication and everything on time

The personnel I met when they collected and delivered my car were very helpful and pleasant. I had no problems whatsoever with the service, it was all done extremely efficiently.

Used Northgate when dealing with an accident that was not my fault and I can’t fault them they were quick to send out a hire car and really impressed with the turn over for repairs.

Took two days to contact us after an accident to be told they would deliver a car Saturday between 9am and 4pm, waited in until 5pm and cancelled plans so we could be in and despite us calling twice throughout the day no one turned up, Tesco couldn’t even get hold of them, resulted in us wasting a whole weekend with no car and having to cancel family birthday plans on Sunday, I wasn’t prepared to spend £70 on a taxi and try and claim back, then on Monday it took until 2pm in the afternoon to call us with a drop off, not much good when no one home. Very poor company, they will propose still try and bill Tesco despite us turning the car down now.

I was given help all the way when l was involved in an accident, caused by another driver. They arranged for me to have a similar vehicle to use whilst my'n was in the repair shop, and this helped me a lot.

Professional staff very polite. Drivers who delivered the car was polite and helpful so was the driver who collected the car. Certainly would use again

We had a hire car supplied by Northgate as part of a claim with Tesco insurance. Every point of contact with them was easy and stress free. All the staff we spoke to were patient and understanding and more important, they all had a sense of humour. I had never heard of Northgate before, but because of our brief experience this time I will seek them out if I ever need insurance services again.

Efficient and professional with good communication.

Dreadful service, provided a replacement car that arrived with 30% charge, no instructions, no guidance no nothing and couldn’t leave fast enough. Follow up calls for help were all but useless.

Couldn’t use the Polestar app to charge as needs two keys and they only provide 1.

Now down to 9% charge - and nobody at Northgate has a clue what to do.

Terrible when dealing with Glasgow branch. Hire car came late (out of hours) and dirty inside and outside. Called the next day to report but no answer so left message. No call back.
When I called to advise of vehicle to be collected I again highlighted I was waiting for a return call to discuss state of the car. Still no call back
