AutoClub Car Rentals Almirida - Chania Airport Arvostelua

We had a very disappointing experience with this company.

When we visited their office, we were told I was too young to rent a car because I am 23 and their minimum age is 26. We explained that my travel companion is 26 and would be the only driver, but after calling the manager, they still refused to rent us a car. We were told this was because they had recently experienced several accidents involving younger customers.

We found this unfair and discriminatory, as our driver met their stated age requirement, yet we were refused based on assumptions about our age rather than the actual rental conditions.

Thankfully, our hotel helped us rent a car from another company (Taxi van kalyves) without any problems, and everything went perfectly for the rest of our holiday.

Unfortunately, based on this experience, we cannot recommend this company.

NO WORRIES WITH THIS COMPANY.

We rented a small car for our 6 days in Crete, we were collected from the airport with our bags and driven to their office (which is pretty much 150 yards from the airport) The car was in good condition with low mileage, it did have some minimal damage (stone chips and small scratches) but this was all recorded by the lady issuing the car, ours was the Panda hybrid which was really economical, we looked after the car and returned it in the same state it was taken, the lady looked around the car when we returned and nothing was said about paying any more for “made up” damages, this is a good trustworthy company, I wouldn’t hesitate to use again if we come back to Crete.

Thanks Autoclub for being a good, no worries, honest company. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

After my excellent experience with AutoClub last year, I went back to them again this year, and honestly they didn't disappoint.
Everything was smooth from the start. When we arrived in Heraklion, the paperwork was already sorted, and the staff explained everything clearly, especially the insurance options (full cover with no excess). The car itself was clean, modern, and ran perfectly, no issues at all. Returning it was just as easy.

The only small downside (and the reason for knocking off a star) was that the car came with just a quarter tank of fuel. It’s a pretty common practice, but still a bit annoying—you have to find a petrol station almost right away, and it’s basically impossible to return it with exactly the same level, so you end up overfilling. I wish they used a full-to-full fuel policy.

Also wirklich, ganz großes Lob!

Herzlichen Dank!

I have hired cars in many countries and have only experienced such great service before. They were waiting for us as soon as we came out of terminal, took us straight to pickup our car. Took us round vehicle for inspection. Free second driver. No hassle about extra insurance, gave us price and said we could take it or leave it. When we returned car they just had a quick look round and then took us to airport in the hire car to save us time. The staff were very efficient and friendly, will certainly use them again when on Crete.

We recently hired a car for one week and were impressed with the good service. Pickup was smooth, we were quickly picked up from Chania airport by a minivan to take us to their office, only a 2-3 minute drive from the airport.

They were transparent about any pre existing damage on the car ( just some scratches) and had the opportunity to take photos of all of these.

We were able to add on additional drivers without any extra cost which was great. We were also pleased to be able to pay in cash, with no requirement of a hold on credit card details. Price of car was very reasonable.

The car ran ok, got us to and from the airport and around all the beaches Crete has to offer. Price of petrol was reasonable.

Drop off of the car was smooth, quick inspection of the car and we were on our way. No hidden charges or false claims of damage with this company.

Would recommend and use this company again!

Have used AutoClub rentals twice now and it has been excellent and easy both times. Great communication at all stages. Good service at airport, picking you up from terminal and dropping you back off at the end of your trip. Friendly and helpful staff. Cars new and in good condition. No tricks. Good prices. All very straightforward. Would not bother trying any other car rental company from Chania airport

Easy instructions
Prompt staff
Great car
Best prices
Definitely a winner and would 100% use again

Excellent value for money. No attempt at upselling. The staff were very organised, quickly checked the car at both ends of the contract. Thoroughly recommend this company….. the first I’ve dealt with in all my years of car hire that is so straightforward

Would 100% recommend! So easy to use the whole process is so stress free. Pick up from airport drop you back off.
Their prices are very reasonable.
We had a lovely car great company staff were all so friendly

Parfait ! 10/10 ! je recontacterai cette socièté pour ma prochaine location de voiture ! merci
Perfect! 10/10! I will contact this company again for my next car rental! thank you!

Like most I shopped around and got a great deal with Auto Club. Great communication from booking, arrived at Chania and within a few minutes were on our way in our hire car. Friendly, hassle free and easy every step. Returning the car was just as good. Highly recommend Auto Club.

I had shopped around, as I usually do, and came across AutoClub Rental, who were able to offer me the large car I wanted, at a good price. I was slightly concerned that they were asking for cash on collection, but I needn’t have worried. I had a few email conversations with them prior to our holiday, and they always answered quickly. I took out an extra insurance to cover the excess, again as I always do. We were met at the airport, and I went to sort the car while my family got the bags. Very smooth process. They didn’t have the car advertised, and what we got was a little smaller, but it was suitable for us anyway.
Returning the car was also a smooth process with them checking over the car before dropping us back at the airport. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent, friendly service at a great price. We were greeted at arrivals and driven the short drive to the office to collect vehicle. No issues throughout holiday and a quick and simple drop off at the end of the holiday. Will definitely use again.

Shopped around for hire cars on Crete, admittedly four months before our holiday. Auto Club were the best value with a relatively small excess, compared to others. Their hire price actually temporarily dropped in the meantime and they didn’t quibble on matching it. A rep was waiting for us at Chania airport arrivals and it was only a minute’s minibus drive to the Auto Club depot and we were on the road in our Toyota Aygo ten minutes later. No problems whatsoever with our hire car during our fortnight’s holiday. We opted to pay the extra premium in order to reduce the excess to zero just to give ourselves complete peace of mind.

Great experience even if it took a long time to return the car because of a technical issue

Great service. Agent waiting at airport. 2 minute drive to collect very good car with satnav, radio, etc. 2 weeks trouble free motoring. Very polite and helpful staff. Very competitive rates. Shall certainly use AutoClub again.

Superb! Every single thing about our rental was fantastic highly recommended

3rd or 4th time we rent a car at Autoclub car rental at Chania Airport.
Drove about 1.400km during our stay, without any proplems.
And what a great service once again!
This is what makes clients come back!
