Order placed on 01/10/2025 and paid 100% upfront based on a 3–4 month delivery time. That deadline passed without delivery. The company then unilaterally moved the delivery date to mid-March 2026!
A table of the exact model I purchased is currently displayed in their showroom. I saw it myself and even agreed to take that exact piece immediately. They refused to release it.
I wrote a complaint in the official complaint book while sitting at that same table. Absurd!
They refuse to return the money and insist only on issuing a store voucher or offering an exchange. I have rejected this many times. A voucher is not a refund — it forces me to remain their customer after a fully paid order was not delivered.
The case is already registered in the Complaint Book, reported to ASAE, and submitted to the Lisbon Consumer Arbitration Center (CACCL).
I strongly do not recommend this store.

Um serviço pós-venda inexistente e sem qualquer vontade de comercialmente resolverem o assunto. Recomendo nunca fazerem compras na empresa AREA.
Horrible Experience!!
Horrible customer service. We spent over 8000 Euro in their store.
They did a mistake in delivery and told us they dont have the right item. Anyway, we told them okay and kept the wrong Sofa sides.
3 months later the wood inside the very expensive Sofa started to break and get loose inside. 6 months later all Sofas are not usable.
We contacted them several time, they would send people around 10pm to check what happened. They would write reports, 4 weeks later they say we cant cover this with warranty.
I try to call the customer service line and no one answer, we send more emails, they ignore it.
Expect ZERO warranty and Zero customer service.
Nice looking products, poor quality for the money you are paying. We wasted time, nerves and money with them.
They will never help and never take accountability!

This company is a scam. I ordered a lamp that I decided to return as it did not fit into my space. To initate the return process was painful. I had to wait for an email and I had to pay for the full return. I returned it to the address they gave me only to find out that nobody was at the given address to collect the package. CTT had to return the lamp back to me as they could not deliver it. I sent an email to the Area Store and their response was that since the returned goods could not be inspected, the return was not accepted! This is a complete joke.

Deeply Disappointed – Poor Communication and Long Delays
We bought a sofa from ÁREA in November 2024. The initial delivery, scheduled for January 1st, 2025, failed due to a transport accident in which the entire shipment was destroyed.
We were told we would have to wait 4 more months for a new one — which was later extended to 6 months.
We did not accept the alternative option of switching to a more expensive product. We decided to wait for the original sofa we had chosen.
On the day of delivery, we clearly requested for it to be delivered between 9:00 and 11:00 AM due to an urgent need — they were late, and no one answered the customer service phone.
This has been a deeply frustrating experience, marked by lack of responsibility, delays, and poor communication. I cannot recommend ÁREA to anyone who expects professionalism or respect for their time and purchase.

I ordered a sofa online from AREA and contacted them immediately to cancel after realizing it wouldn’t fit. They confirmed over the phone that cancellation was no problem and promised a refund.
The delivery was cancelled, but the refund never came. I’ve followed up several times with no reply. I’ve now filed a formal complaint through DECO PROteste and will escalate this further if needed.
Extremely disappointing service, no response, no refund. I can’t recommend AREA to anyone. Avoid this store if you value your time and money.

Unreliable Quality – Expensive Table Collapsed Unexpectedly!
I purchased the FREDERIK table from them for 800 EUR, and yesterday, it suddenly broke, causing my two expensive Mac laptops to fall, along with a cup of tea on the table. Despite these circumstances, when I requested a refund, they simply stated that they could not do anything because the warranty had expired.
Honestly, I would not recommend buying anything from them—if a table at this price can just collapse unexpectedly, what else might fail?

Perdi o dinheiro completo da encomenda uma vez que chegou partida (26 euros) e o valor dos portes, que foram significativos para um encomenda entregue desta forma (8 euros).

1. Quebra de acordo: Depois de chegarem a acordo por escrito sobre o preço de uma lâmpada Frank Lloyd, aumentaram unilateralmente o preço sem justificação válida. Isto é completamente inaceitável e demonstra falta de integridade nas suas práticas comerciais.
2. Má comunicação: a obtenção de detalhes críticos, como medidas de envio e instruções de coleta, foi atrasada desnecessariamente. A falta de capacidade de resposta deles causou transtornos significativos e me deixou lutando para organizar a logística.
3. Desconsideração do cliente: Apesar dos meus esforços para resolver o problema amigavelmente, eles não demonstraram disposição em honrar nosso acordo ou assumir a responsabilidade por suas ações. Isso me fez sentir desvalorizado e ignorado como cliente.
Aconselho vivamente os potenciais clientes a evitarem as Area Stores Portugal. Com base na minha experiência, eles não priorizam a satisfação do cliente nem cumprem seus compromissos. Existem retalhistas muito melhores e mais fiáveis disponíveis, por isso mantenha-se afastado das Lojas Regionais em Portugal.

1. Breach of Agreement: After agreeing on a price for a Frank Lloyd lamp in writing, they unilaterally increased the price without valid justification. This is completely unacceptable and shows a lack of integrity in their business practices.
2. Poor Communication: Obtaining critical details like shipping measurements and collection instructions was unnecessarily delayed. Their lack of responsiveness caused significant inconvenience and left me scrambling to arrange logistics.
3. Customer Disregard: Despite my efforts to resolve the issue amicably, they showed no willingness to honor our agreement or take responsibility for their actions. This left me feeling undervalued and ignored as a customer.
I strongly advise potential customers to avoid Area Stores Portugal. Based on my experience, they do not prioritize customer satisfaction or uphold their commitments. There are far better and more reliable retailers available, so keep away from Area Stores in Portugal.

Se pudesse dava zero estrelas. Adquiri uma mesa e seis cadeiras. No momento da entrega não só danificaram a mesa como a parede do prédio. Da qualidade das cadeiras nem vou comentar, péssima estofagem e péssimos acabamentos. Certamente que é para esquecer e que nunca mais iremos adquirir qualquer tipo de artigo desta empresa. Neste momento tenho apenas as seis cadeiras e vou ter de aguardar pela peritagem do seguro desta empresa para resolver os danos no edifício. Fiquei, inclusive, sem mesa.

Sendo que quem responde aos e-mails não os assina, suspeito, pelo tipo de linguagem, que é a mesma pessoa que responde às reclamações no Livro de Reclamações.
Se a gestão/donos da empresa não têm acesso a este feedback, como poderão melhorar?

Bad quality sofa, terrible after purchase
Bad quality sofa and terrible after care service. I bought the Marlborough Sofa for close to €2k. Within a month of purchase the material started shedding from normal use (no I don't have a dog). I contacted after care service, who said that
"according to our experience and to the information we have received from the supplier, the defects claimed for the article in question can only be due to normal depreciation or perishing of the article because of its use.Area does not consider the pilling to be a defect, but rather a consequence of its use, given the materials used in the composition of the article."
I find this unacceptable as I had used the sofa for less than a month.
They offered no solutions, no repair, no replacement, no understanding. They also said in other form emails that it must have been due to inadequate use or care - not believing my claim. No, it is because it is an inferior product.
