Faulty product, delayed shipping and concerning customer service
Warning from my personal experience as a verified customer: I strongly recommend using caution before purchasing from AEMDRA.
I ordered from AEMDRA on 22 June with express shipping (advertised as 1–4 business days). The parcel wasn’t created until 25 June, was only picked up on 1 July, and arrived 10 July, a total of 18 days, far outside the express timeframe shown at checkout.
When the product arrived, it was faulty, but it took an extended process before this was acknowledged. I was asked to send multiple troubleshooting videos via WhatsApp, and I had to pay return shipping to send the unit back to NSW for inspection. This cost was never reimbursed. Only after this was the fault finally accepted.
The refund process was the most troubling part of my experience. I requested a full refund of $914, including shipping, consistent with Australian Consumer Law and AEMDRA’s own website at the time of purchase. Instead, I was told that Afterpay fees and other costs would be deducted, even though these deductions were not stated on the website when I placed my order, and Afterpay’s Merchant Agreement specifies that customers should not be charged merchant fees for refunds.
During this time, I noticed that AEMDRA’s Terms & Conditions appeared to have been updated after my purchase, and these newer terms were then referenced in emails about my refund. Earlier versions I had archived did not contain the same wording.
I also received multiple emails stating that a full refund would only be provided if I deleted my (then) 2-star Trustpilot review and agreed not to post any future reviews, including requests to “send proof and agree.” Other emails described my concerns as “false claims” or “blatant attacks” and warned that my comments could constitute defamation and “potentially lead to legal action.” This tone was extremely distressing given that I was simply trying to resolve a faulty product refund.
After considerable effort and escalation, I did eventually receive the full refund of $914, which I acknowledge.
For context only, after returning the faulty product I purchased a replacement from another EMDR equipment supplier (EMDRKit). That order arrived within 4 days and I have had no issues with the product or customer service. This highlighted how unusual and difficult my experience with AEMDRA had been.
