AbbyCar Rentals Arvostelua 

We booked a Toyota Yaris (or similar) and were given a Nissan Micra instead. While we understand “or similar” policy, the car provided felt significantly below expectations for the category.
The vehicle had very poor acceleration and felt underpowered, especially when trying to merge or drive uphill. The engine response was inconsistent and at times the RPM would rise without proper power delivery, making the driving experience stressful and unsafe in certain situations.
We expected a standard economy car suitable for normal road conditions in Crete, but this vehicle did not perform accordingly. It did not feel well maintained or in line with what is normally expected from this category.
We requested assistance but the issue was not properly resolved during the rental period.
Overall, disappointing experience compared to what was advertised.

When we checked the reviews after booking. Stupid I know. We were very cautious about using AbbyCars. However we had no issues at all. We knew we’d have to use a credit card as a deposit which appeared to be people’s main issue. The staff were kind, funny and friendly. They took care before giving us the car to ensure every mark was accounted for rather than rushing, which gave us piece of mind they weren’t going to scam us like previous reviews. When we dropped the car off, again this went smoothly and no issues were raised on their part. The 900 euro deposit block was returned to my bank within the hour of returning the car. I’d use them again without hesitation.

the man standing next to me had exactly the same issue so he was f***ed as well

AbbyCar itself is quite communicative, especially before rental, but after you file a complaint it is mostly AI driven responses that you get.
In Malaysia AbbyCar uses Paradise Cars, which is a rent-a-wreck operation. The car we got had too many problems to mention:
The brakes hardly worked, the motor warning light was constantly burning, all tires were threadbare, central locking didn't work, etc, etc. The Paradise in the name probably relates to how quick they want to get you there.
After a lot of back and forthe with Paradise, we were told to drive back to the airport (> 1 hr). Most of the cars there looked pretty similar, so we decided to upgrade to the one car that wasn't an old Proton Saga.

The worker was rude with me and there were many hidden fees. Me and other people arrived later due to problems with the flights and each of us had to pay 50€ to collect the car outside of working hours.
They charged me 484€ for a 5cm scratch that wasn't visible in their out-of-focus picture at pickup.
Another car rental company told me that Abby car is known for "stealing" money from tourists with their hidden fees.
I won't choose it again.

My prepaid booking was 20.80 €, but upon arrival at the Athens Airport desk, the price instantly ballooned to 145.80 € due to massive, undisclosed charges. This included a fraudulent 90 € fee for "car road assistance" on top of the 35 € out-of-office fee.

This bait-and-switch tactic forced me to cancel. ABBYCAR uses misleading pricing to corner customers and refused any assistance or refund. Do not trust this company.

They are scammers. They wanted me to pay 100 euro more because I was 4 hours too late to pick up my car after I had reserved it online

Wir haben Abbycar (Thessaloniki, Perea) direkt über Ryanair gebucht, als wir nach Griechenland geflogen sind. Der Preis ist unschlagbar (30 Euro für 8 Tage, inkl Vollversicherung 60 Euro)! Wir waren im Mai in Griechenland. Ich denke in der Hauptsaison wird es etwas teurer.
Der Service war perfekt. Wir wurden vom Flighafen abgeholt, wurden zu Abbycar gebracht, haben das Auto (äußerst guter Zustand, wie neu) übergeben bekommen und haben unsere Reise gestartet.
Ja, es wurde versucht uns zusätzlich noch eine Versicherung "anzudrehen", nachdem wir aber bereits alles bei der Buchung abgeschlossen hatten, haben wir das verneint. Es hieß, dass wir dann dieses und jenes nicht im Paket dabei hätten. Nachdem wir aber wussten, was wir versichert hatten, haben wir uns nicht beirren lassen.
Wir haben das Auto nach 8 Tagen wieder zurückgegeben. Es wurde überprüft ob alles in Ordnung ist und ob der Tank befüllt ist. Der Shuttle kam und hat uns wieder zum Flughafen Thessaloniki gebracht.
Die Kreditkarte wurde mit 700 Euro am Anfang blockiert, wurde aber nach Übergabe sofort wieder "freigeschaltet".

Ich kann abschließend sagen, dass wir mehr als zufrieden waren und es sofort wieder machen würden, über Abbycar ein Auto zu mieten. Die Abwicklung war reibungslos und der Service super. Man muss nur etwas aufpassen, dass man vor Ort nicht noch Versicherungen "aufgedrückt" bekommt.

I returned the vehicle in perfect condition a long time ago and my security deposit has still not been refunded to my credit card. I have sent previous messages without a satisfactory response.
Please be advised that if the amount is not returned within 48 hours, I will take the following actions:
• Open a chargeback dispute directly with my credit card provider
• Update the positive public review I previously left for your business
• File a formal complaint with the relevant consumer protection authorities
• Report this situation on platforms such as Trustpilot and Google Reviews
I expect confirmation that the refund has been processed and a timeline for when it will appear on my statement

Attention y'a toujours quelque chose à payer en plus en arrivant. Ils veulent une caution de 900€ mais comme c'est illégal de la prendre il demande a rajouter une assurance en plus.
Plusieurs plages sont interdites en voiture. On vous donne les noms en sortie d'avion donc impossible de les retenir. Aucune info dans la voiture là dessus.
La voiture est équipée d'un traceur GPS si vous allez sur une route qu'ils ne valident pas attention...
Lorsqu'on nous a ramené à l'aéroport le monsieur a conduit comme un pilote de rallye ne nous a pas dit au-revoir et nous a pas aidé à descendre nos valises du coffres.
Tous les autres chauffeurs ont aidé les vacanciers avec les bagages et on dit au-revoir.

J’ai loué une voiture chez Abbycar en ville de Saranda pendant quatre jours et l’expérience a été excellente. Le véhicule était neuf, parfaitement propre et en très bon état.
Le personnel de l’agence s’est montré particulièrement réactif, professionnel et efficace. L’agent a pris le temps de m’expliquer clairement les garanties incluses dans l’assurance ainsi que les conditions du contrat de location. Avant la remise des clés, il m’a également présenté les éventuels dommages déjà présents sur le véhicule et m’a expliqué son fonctionnement. Il a aussi précisé qu’il fallait restituer la voiture avec le plein de carburant, propre, et régler d’éventuelles contraventions afin d’éviter des frais supplémentaires.
Tout s’est déroulé de manière sérieuse, transparente et conviviale. Je recommande vivement ce loueur, qui propose un excellent service à un tarif très compétitif.

Ich habe bei Abbycar in Saranda für vier Tage ein Auto gemietet und war rundum zufrieden. Das Fahrzeug war brandneu, blitzsauber und in einem sehr guten Zustand.
Die Mitarbeiter der Autovermietung waren besonders hilfsbereit, professionell und effizient. Der Mitarbeiter nahm sich die Zeit, mir die Versicherung und die Mietbedingungen ausführlich zu erklären. Bevor er mir die Schlüssel aushändigte, wies er mich auch auf eventuelle Schäden am Fahrzeug hin und erklärte mir deren Funktionsweise. Er betonte außerdem, dass ich das Auto vollgetankt und sauber zurückgeben und eventuelle Verkehrsverstöße begleichen müsse, um zusätzliche Gebühren zu vermeiden. Alles wurde professionell, transparent und freundlich abgewickelt. Ich kann diese Autovermietung wärmstens empfehlen. Sie bietet exzellenten Service zu einem sehr wettbewerbsfähigen Preis.

I rented a car from Abbycar in Saranda for four days and the experience was excellent. The vehicle was brand new, spotlessly clean, and in very good condition.
The agency staff were exceptionally responsive, professional, and efficient. The agent took the time to clearly explain the insurance coverage and the terms of the rental agreement. Before handing over the keys, he also pointed out any existing damage to the vehicle and explained how it worked. He also emphasized that I needed to return the car with a full tank of fuel, clean, and pay any outstanding fines to avoid additional charges.
Everything was handled professionally, transparently, and in a friendly manner. I highly recommend this rental company, which offers excellent service at a very competitive price.

Absolute Katastrophe – nie wieder!

Bei der Rückgabe des Mietwagens wurde uns plötzlich eine angebliche „Offroad-Strafe“ von zunächst 1.250 EUR vorgeworfen – obwohl:
kein Schaden am Fahrzeug vorhanden war,
das Auto sauber und ordnungsgemäß zurückgegeben wurde, keinerlei Zusatzkosten entstanden sind,
und uns nie transparent erklärt wurde, dass bestimmte öffentlich befahrbare Straßen angeblich verboten seien bzw zu derartigen Strafen führen.
Wir sind lediglich die reguläre, über Google Maps geführte Straße nach Lukomir gefahren. Vor Ort war nichts gesperrt oder als „Offroad“ gekennzeichnet.

Besonders fragwürdig: Nachdem wir die völlig überzogene Forderung hinterfragt und eine schriftliche Grundlage bzw. einen offiziellen Strafbescheid verlangt haben, wurde die angebliche Strafe plötzlich „reduziert“ und stattdessen einfach unsere komplette Kaution von 800 EUR einbehalten.

Bis heute konnte uns:
keine konkrete Vertragsklausel,
keine nachvollziehbare Berechnung,
und kein tatsächlicher Nachweis eines Vertragsverstoßes vorgelegt werden.

Für uns wirkt dieses Vorgehen absolut unseriös und wie gezieltes Abkassieren von Touristen.

Wir empfehlen jedem dringend: Bei diesem Anbieter extrem vorsichtig sein, alles dokumentieren und sich jede angebliche Zusatzgebühr schriftlich belegen lassen.

Oder noch besser: erst gar nicht buchen!!!

C'est des voleurs. Ils te vendent une assurance car soit disant ta carte n'est pas une carte de crédit. Tu n'as pas le droit de faire des chemins de terre mais il y a des endroits impossible d'accès autrement et te font payer 300 euros car tu as pris cette route. Bref le prix pas cher devient bcp plus cher qu'une vraie agence

Sembravano tanto gentili quando abbiamo preso l’auto…invece…
Tra le varie informazioni ci avevano detto di riportare l’auto pulita e infatti abbiamo avuto cura di non sporcare gli interni che abbiamo lasciato pulitissimi. Le strade a Tirana e dintorni sono disastrate alcune nemmeno asfaltate ed è impossibile non sporcare le ruote.
La ragazza che ha controllato l’auto al ritiro (molto scortese) ha segnalato che l’auto era sporca (e davvero erano SOLO le ruote ad essere sporche). Non è stato possibile ragionare con nessuno degli impiegati. Abbiamo dovuto pagare 20 euro extra senza nemmeno darci una ricevuta. Abbiamo preso auto a noleggio mille volte ma MAI abbiamo dovuto pagare per la pulizia delle ruote. LA PEGGIOR ESPERIENZA DI NOLEGGIO MAI PASSATA!!!

We were picked up at Rhodes airport by a representative who claimed multiple companies operate under the same umbrella.

Despite having a confirmed booking, the staff at the desk claimed they didn't have the "correct voucher" and forced us to pay an extra €25 per day (€200 total) on top of what we had already paid.

When I challenged this completely unjustified fee, they used a high-pressure tactic and threatened to withhold my entire €1,100 security deposit (which was already authorised on my credit card) unless I paid the extra cash.

Since we had a flight to catch, we were left with no choice but to pay under duress.This is a classic scam designed to exploit tourists at the end of their holiday.

I have reported this incident to the Greek Tourist Police, the Greek National Tourism Organisation (EOT), and have initiated a Section 75 dispute with my credit card provider for coercion and breach of contract.

Avoid this company at all costs they are dishonest and use intimidation to take your money.

1 star cause It's not possible to leave less.
New booking conditions at pick up (forbidden to drive on unpaved roads, and we are in Albania where 90% of the roads is unpaved).
At drop off, we have been charged 150€ for stains in the seat which was only a wet stain (no visibile dirt).
