I wear an external brace over my left shoe and find it very difficult to get footwear to fit, especially walking boots. He measured my feet, knew which walking boots would be most suitable for me and spent two hours on getting the best fit by trying different insoles and imaginative lacing up. He had infinite patience. I shall be back for walking shoes next.
