First Class Experience

While the lenses of my reading glasses were being changed the frame cracked. Although the Lensology contract states that they are not responsible for such eventualities the company kindly offered to provide new frames. Once I had chosen some the re-glazing work was completed rapidly. First class service.

Competitive quote via Moneysupermarket. Easy to register on the Budget website and access documents. This is the easy bit. Hopefully I will not need to claim but this is truly the time when you find out about the service quality of your insurance provider.

Outstanding Customer Service

I called Octopus Customer Service as I had questions regarding their new 16 month fixed tariff for existing customers. I was pleasantly surprised that the call was answered immediately, without the usual long musical wait that customers are subjected to these days by many service companies. Alessandra was then able to fully answer my queries on this matter and did so in a clear and concise manner.
I also raised the fact that I had written several weeks ago requesting a modification to my bill to reflect accurate meter readings, for which photographic evidence was provided. However despite sending a reminder nothing had been done. Alessandra checked the correspondence, apologised for the omission and whilst on the line made the necessary bill adjustment, which came through by email before the call ended. The service I received from Alessandra was truly outstanding.

First Class Service from Sam the Patrol Man.

First use of AA breakdown service after many years of membership. Discovered that the App is used for call out and found it easy to navigate. Impressed to receive an instant message acknowledging the breakdown (flat tyre) and the estimate of patrol attendance in 20 minutes. Was able to track the patrol vehicle on the App which arrived in a timely manner, despite it being rush hour. Sam was able to fit my (temporary) spare wheel and the vehicle was serviceable again in about 20 minutes. All things considered (cold, dark rainy conditions) the service could not have been better.

Another 5 Star Experience

Having used this excellent company three times previously I had no hesitation sending two further items for repair (a gas fire remote and a garage door/gate fob). Once again the service from Martin was outstanding. The items were returned repaired in a week, communication throughout was first class and I am very happy with the cost. If only dealing with other companies was this straightforward. I cannot rate RemoteFixer highly enough.

Excellent Once Again

Having successfully used this company’s services twice previously (for a gas fire remote control and a fob for an XF Jaguar) I had no hesitation asking them to fix a Liftmaster garage door fob. Once again the service and end result were excellent.The repair was done very quickly and I was kept informed of progress, including a video of the working fob. The cost of repair is very reasonable, especially since it completely removes the hassle and expense of having to source a replacement product.It has been convenient personally for me to deliver and collect items requiring repair, so I have had the advantage of speaking with Martin and witnessing first hand how knowledgeable and professional he is. I wholeheartedly recommend this company, and just wish there were more with the same commitment to customer satisfaction.

Very Good Except for Price.

Ordering straightforward and tyre delivered on time. Fitting was very quick at a friendly and efficient local garage. After placing an order I saw I could have saved £25 by buying the tyre from the AA/National Tyre. Blackcircles do not price match so in future I would recommend everybody fully check alternatives before using them.

First Class Reservation Process

Just made a reservation for a 2 night stay in Durham. Excellent price and very straightforward booking process. A little uneasy that some guests arrived at their hotel only to find the venue had no record of the reservation, so 5 stars relates to my experience regarding the deal on offer and the reservation procedure. I will however be glad to add a further update once the visit has been made.

UPDATE ON MY EARLIER EXPERIENCE

At the end of June I posted a scathing review (1Star ) regarding my problem with the booking procedure and particularly the lack of customer service (hours on the phone, absence of replies to emails) in order to rectify matters. Similar in fact to the issues many other reviewers have complained about.
Once I had the personal attention of a Customer Service Representative (in my case Michelle Forrestal) who was very helpful, things improved dramatically, as I said in an update.
The purpose of today's review is to report on the 2 day return test we underwent at the Manchester Airport drive-through yesterday (13 July). Things could not have gone better. We arrived a little earlier than our appointed time (mid-day) but there was no wait. After presenting the required documentation we were sent directly to a testing bay where a full explanation was given of what would happen both at and post the test. The procedure (throat and nasal) was carried out and I did not feel a thing (whereas a couple of days earlier in Madeira I thought the swab would be coming out of my head!). We then scanned the code and registered our details before leaving the car park. By 4.00 PM we received confirmation the swab was in Belfast awaiting analysis, and after a further 9 hours an email confirming a Negative result was received. So I am happy to give this aspect of my experience 5 Stars.
My opinion is that self-testing involves too many uncertainties and complications (as demonstrated by most reviews). If you can get to a drive-through do so, paying an additional £17 is well worth it.

UPDATED REVIEW

Feel duty bound to update this review after receiving an email this morning confirming that the date of the test has been amended by Randox. No explanation of the reason for not being able to log in or any indication that the technical issue has been resolved. Never the less I am just grateful to have a response in time.
In fairness I will also provide am update on how the DAY 2 drive through testing procedure works in practice, for the benefit of other potential customers. If the service works as advertised I will be happy to say so, despite my original negative comments.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I booked two drive through tests at Manchester airport (day 2 arrival) for 13 July. These had to be booked individually even though we would be arriving in the same car. The first email confirmation had the correct date but the second had 3 July, even though I input the 13th. I tried to login in to amend the date but the system said my email address was INVALID, even though I had received the confirmation to it. I emailed customer service explaining the problem advising that I had tried to amend the booking on line and why it was not possible - only to get a reply telling me I should amend the booking online!!! I then spent several hours waiting on the phone to speak to somebody (Ben) who said he had heard of similar login problems but could not help, so would get somebody to phone me. Nothing happened and the next day I repeated the process and was told by somebody else he would get somebody to call me urgently. But nobody has. I have sent several more emails to customer service, not one has been replied to.
Clearly there are teething problems with the website. A professional company would have a technical support number to call. Also clear is that Randox has started offering this service without putting an appropriate infrastructure in place, so they appear to be simply chasing revenue and could not care less about customers. Again a serious and professional company would slow down taking new business and concentrate on clearing a backlog of customer complaints, bearing in mind the travel deadlines involved. If Randox is serious about this business somebody will contact me on reading this.

WATCH OUT FOR THIS BYOJET SYSTEMS FAULT

I tried making a booking yesterday(Manchester to Orlando) but after submitting my payment details received an "OOPS" error message saying the reservation could not be made, and asking me to make a further flight search. I did this twice more, for Manchester to West Palm Beach, and the same thing happened. So I gave up. Imagine my surprise to then find emails confirming 3 flight reservations on the same day and 3 credit card charges. I phoned immediately but there was no 24 hour service as advertised on the numbers on the company website. I have spoken to an agent today and been advised that one reservation can be cancelled as it was a duplicate booking for the same route, but one ticket may not be refundable. EVEN THOUGH THE PROBLEM EMENATED FROM THE BYOJET WEBSITE STATING THAT NONE OF MY RESERVATIONS COULD BE COMPLETED. I have seen that another traveller had exactly the same issue, confirming the fault lies with BYOJET systems. I am currently awaiting resolution of this worrying and stressful situation
by a friendly agent (Florence in the Philippines) and will be happy to provide an update and change my rating once the matter is satisfactorily resolved.

I have used WeSwap twice recently

I have used WeSwap twice recently, pre-loading currency on to my card prior to visits to Cape Town (ZAR) and Madeira (Euro). I was a bit apprehensive at first but everything worked like clockwork and the exchange rates obtained were very competitive. I will continue using WeSwap for future overseas travel and have no hesitation in recommending them to other travellers.
