Very poor verging on awful

Subcontracted by Sharps to clear waste arising from the installation of a fitted wardrobe. Clearabee arranged and cancelled collection 6 times over a period of two weeks with no explanation or reason. Waste is still at my property. Customer services simply came out with an excuse that they don’t collect from the Isle of Wight very often.

Took the stress out of a difficult move.

We were put in contact with DBM by Compare My Move at an early stage in the house sale/move process. DBM's quote was one of the most reasonable of the seven we received. Our preferred removal company let us down and we contacted DBM at short notice. DBM took on the task without fuss or drama. The office staff were polite, helpful and responded to queries very quickly. The moving team worked extremely quickly, were highly professional and completed the move in record time. Once contracted with DBM we felt relieved - they took the stress out of a potentially difficult move. Thank you DBM

Excellent service

Compare My Move promptly forwarded my enquiry to 6 appropriate removal companies, all of which responded very quickly. We selected one of the 6 (DBM) who organised and conducted the move in a highly professional, stress free manner at short notice. Compare My Move and DBM made a potentially difficult move easy - thank you.

Reason for rating:

Room
Bedroom was ‘tired’ in need of re-decorating.
Bathroom had a leak from the toilet cistern resulting in a permanently wet floor. There was mould and black marks in the tile grouting.
No USB charging facilities in the room

Catering:
Breakfast was good value; however, watered down orange and apple juice and weak coffee from the bean to cup machine felt like ‘penny pinching’.
Evening meal – very poor indeed. Chicken burger came in a brioche bun that was so stale and hard that it was in-edible. Portion size again reflected a ‘penny pinching’ attitude.

Staff:
Very good – offered replacement evening meal as and free breakfast in compensation for problems with the catering and leak in the bathroom.

Summary:
A potentially good hotel with great staff let down by poor maintenance and penny pinching.

I would not recommend this Travel Lodge. This experience has convinced me that I will not use Travel Lodge in the future.

Passive aggressive, unhelpful bureaucratic and rude.

Compton Property Management Group assume that all leaseholders and tenants are criminals who will not pay their service charge, ground rent and property insurance on time or at all; therefore, Compton always communicate with leaseholders and tenants in a passive aggressive manner. Calling the company involves talking to staff who are unhelpful and hide behind internal bureaucratic procedures to avoid dealing with any issue unless pressed to do so. When pressed staff are rude both verbally and in written format. The term 'customer service' is alien to Compton Group staff, who see their role as dictator instead of facilitator. My experience with Compton Property Management has been so poor that in future I will not purchase any property managed by Compton, and if a property I own falls under Compton group I will sell the property immediately

Purplebricks - a company of two halves

Purplebricks are very much a company of two halves. The good part is the lettings team, specifically Tyrone and Zilakha, who marketed and let my property in a month. The whole process was professionally and proactively managed.

The bad part is the lettings management team - the division of Purplebricks that supposedly manages the property on behalf of the landlord after is has been let. Receiving comments from my tenants such as 'I haven't heard from Purplebricks regarding extension or end of our tenancy agreement' over two months after I offered a new lease via my Purplebricks letting manager reflects a woeful lack of attention. Also, this poor service is expensive at £126 per month.

If Purplebricks put as much attention into managing lettings as they do into letting properties it would be an exceptional company. As it is the long term experience for landlord and tenant can be frustrating and stressful, after an initial positive service.

Awful

First delivery date they just did not turn up - no communication at all to notify why they did not deliver or offer a re-booking. Eventually received notification delivery would be re-attempted on 18 July, which was cancelled with less than 24 hours notice after I had booked time off and a ferry to the delivery address. These people are awful, the web chat service is never available, they don’t reply to messages submitted through the website and waiting times on the contact phone number are extreme.
