Wonderland Models Arvostelua 

Ordered a RC Tamiya Grasshopper in early November 2020 for my nephew's birthday which was in early Dec. Phone the shop and had a pleasent and helpful chat regarding ordering. Was told that the item was to be back instock within a few days, but alas it wasn't. The issues is that I had no emails or call from the shop updating me on the situation. I called the shop on a number of occasions and on a number of occasion the call was not answered. Emails were evntually answered.

Web site offers "1/16 Volkswagen Type 2 T1 Samba Bus Model Kit" for £29.99. Says usual price is £59.99

When you click on "Buy now" offer not available and actually comes up at £64.99.

Ordered some Schleich and Papo animal figures. Cheaper than other retailers. Arrived quickly and well packed.

Great service. Ordered during the Xmas holiday period and fully expected the order to arrive early January. Order received within 48 hours and perfect. Also price is so much more competitive than certain large company sites. Highly recommended

The prices are as expected at Wonderland - and far less than people are paying on the auction sites for the same modelling paints and tools.

I ordered a batch of paints and accessories from Wonderland to allow me to begin modelling with my young son, who was more than eager to begin before Christmas with his first model kit. I had advised my son that with the current situation and the slow post at Christmas, that he may have to wait until after the holidays for the items to arrive. By then of course, I would be back to work, with limited time to teach him the modelling skills he needs to complete his first kit.

Amazingly Wonderland Models shipped the order quickly enough for the order to arrive in time for our Christmas modelling sessions together.

Pre-ordered in November for restock due 1st Dec, for a December birthday gift. I emailed to chase and was told restock due 7th. Emailed again and restock now due 15th (today) but I've had no despatch information. Phone line does not actually seem to work - all extensions eventually cut off after saying extension does not exist. Understand that covid and Brexit affecting shipping, but lack of ability to contact is extremely frustrating and not entirely convinced that I haven't just paid £170 to a scam company?

Ordered an item online. Transaction went smoothly and I even received an email stating the item has been dispatched. After 5 days item still hasn't arrived and no other updates were provided so I decided to email them only to get a response that the item was out of stock. I don't know why they even bothered to send an email that it has been despatched if they did not have any stock to begin with.

I emailed them back stating they should send me a refund then (which should have gone without me saying it) still no reply as of this time which to begin with if they did not have the stock the refund should have been automatic or the money should not have been deducted at all.

I reckon best to avoid this site if this is a persistent issue with this website.

Dreadful...let you order something that isn’t in stock and then don’t even have the courtesy to keep you updated on stock unless you chase them. Would not recommend. Update - in response to Wonderlands reply I chose another model which is shown as available for purchase on the website....and guess what...when you ring them up it’s not in stock....TERRIBLE

I have found Wonderland models to be dishonest and the worst customer service I have ever experienced by far. I had been looking for an electric motor specifically with a black can. The Wonderland models website showed they were selling the black can model. Prior to placing an order I emailed them to check that the black can was the one I would receive and I received an email from Roderick confirming it would be. I then ordered the item and they promptly sent me a silver can version. I was then told the black can was no longer available. They also then updated their website and told me that I knew what I was ordering as the silver can was on their website despite the email from them confirming the opposite. As I had taken screen shots of their website showing the black can, I then sent these to them, and on receipt they backtracked and admitted their error. However, their only resolution is for me to send the motor back to them at my own expense with an note explaining why I don’t want it. Clearly it is not acceptable for any customer to have to be out of pocket for any amount for something that is entirely the fault of the seller. However, Wonderland don’t share this sentiment and are content they have mis-sold me an item leaving me to pursue a claim via my credit card company. Based on my experience I can only suggest that you avoid using this company as there are far more retailers out there who actually value their customers.

As you will see below Wonderland have helpfully replied advising they have offered to refund. This is true as you will see in my review above. How the key point they are missing is that they will only accept the return if I send it back at MY OWN expense, which is clearly not acceptable given it is their error.

I am getting back into RC after a massive break,have brought a Candy Green Grasshopper,Subaru Brat and Superclod from Wonderland along with other items.

Simply cannot fault them at all.

Great selection of models,RadioGear,tools,batteries and more.

Will be back again.

I was looking for a one stop shop to buy a few items I needed and, after a few hours browsing the web unsuccessfully, was pleased to find this site which stocked all I needed.

I placed my order and received an invoice a few working hours later. The delivery arrived quickly with a reliable shipping service (DPD).

So why 3 stars then?

The website does not show accurate stock information, so some items I ordered weren't available. That and the pdf invoice, it all looks very dot.com... Things have moved on a bit since the 90s, accurate stock information is a bread and butter issue for most online retailers these days.

So, we enter the territory of issue management and communication, which is how you generally get to appreciate specialist retailers. But unfortunately, not in this case:
- No one contacted me to give a chance to pick alternative products or cancel the order. I haven't received a response to the email I sent either.
- a vague statement at the bottom of the invoice states the products will follow when available. What does that mean? Will I get charged out of blue? Will shipping also be charged again?
- Everyone's got to make a living, but the website is somewhat economical with the truth as far as reviews are concerned: an average of 5 star reviews? Well that should change soon if i am wrong, as I have left a 3 star review there, but somehow judging by other comments on Trustpilot, I doubt my review will be displayed...

What I received was ok, the packaging was ok, the speed of delivery was excellent.

In the end, I ended up ordering the missing items from the large smily online place...

Shame really, what looks like a well established business should be able to do better in what looks to me like the basics of shopkeeping...

I sincerely hope they will do, we need these shops.

They just email me to say that the order I placed few days ago cannot be completed as there is an issue with my card. First time that I see the card going through and few days later they say that there are issues.

I don’t know if this is scam or if they have a really poor paywall provider. In any case I recommend you to avoid buying here at all cost.

Came on schedule and was well packaged, very impressed due to the current COVID 19 crisis, they have a very big selection of models, I will definitely be ordering again.

I ordered a Tamiya Hornet from Wonderland models a couple of weeks ago. The item arrived quickly, with a respectable courier (DPD) and was very well packed. My only slight issue with Wonderland's website is that they don't show stock levels the way other RC suppliers sites do, which leaves one wondering if the item will be dispatched immediately. However, their e-mail and phone communication is very good, despite the current circumstances due to COVID-19. I would certainly buy from them again.

Excellent all round customer service, Roderick was super helpful. I will be using again.

I have been a customer of Wonderland Models for over 40 years both in person in the shop and occasionally by mailorder and they have always provided me with very high quality service.
My interest is in plastic models kits and they have a large selection and there are usually some good discounts available. The staff are very knowledgable and very helpful - many of them are modellers themselves. They may not have everything in stock but can usually get them very quickly from their suppliers.

Ordered twice in November after seeing these guys at the Scale Model World model show event in Telford and both times my orders were delivered the next day. Fast, efficient service with no fuss. Having had a poor experience with another model shop in the south of England I decided to give Wonderland a try and was not disappointed. I am travelling up to Edinburgh with my wife early in the new year and can’t wait to see the shop for myself. Looks huge from all the photos on the website.

Phoned Wonderland Models about availability on a couple of items and was told they were in stock so I went ahead and ordered them. That was at 1pm on Thursday afternoon. I was expecting the parcel to arrive pretty quickly but it turned up at 10.30 the following morning which was brilliant.

Really impressed with the speed of service. Will definitely be ordering again. First class.

I use Wonderland Models every year for all my Christmas gifts for my children and I always find the staff very attentive and obliging. My children always look forward to visiting the store in Edinburgh where they always receive a warm welcome.
In particular I would like to sing the praises of Alex who is most helpful and knowledgeable. I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent model shop to all my friends and family.

I ordered a lot of paints on standard delivery (3 days). After 6 days it hadn’t turned up Wonderland said they had no record of the order even though I gave them the order number and the confirmation email. No further communication from Wonderland, even on Twitter. Very poor service
