Disappointed with our christmas Guinea Fowl
Ordered the guinea fowl stuffed with wild boar stuffing. Very disappointing , will not be ordering again , not enough meat to stuffing ration and stuffing not very pleasant , i rushed out to buy another. Bird. To serve with it.

We are sorry to see that you were disappointed with your boned and stuffed guinea fowl. You are right to say that there is a very high ratio of stuffing as compared to meat with boned and stuffed birds as the stuffing fills the cavity that is normally empty in a bird that has not been boned. It is hard to get away from that as the stuffing, rather than rib cage, supports the bird shape and you need plenty of it! We are glad that you found another bird to serve with it.
Too much plastic
I now have several misgivings about buying from The Wild Meat company. First I no longer buy game birds because of the raptor persecution associated with shooting estates. Scottish Grouse estates are now licenced but nothing like this exists in England. My last order of venison mince, pork mince and lamb chops came well insulated with wool insulation wrapped in polythene and two frozen bags of some sort of paste. What is this stuff and is it safe to dispose of and how? No instructions provided. I think its not necessary, why not just freeze the mince and use that as an ice pack?? The lamb chops came wrapped in three polythene bags, one inside the other, what is that all about?? IMHO there is a profligate use of polythene. Yes polythene is recyclable but sadly around 70% of what is sent to be recycled is not. Its burned or buried. Does the wool insulation need to be wrapped in polythene?
..........Thanks for your reply. Yes the chops were bloody but if they were sealed properly in the first place you wouldnt need the excessive extra wrapping of polythene. The gell packs were still frozen when my order arrived so I doubt frozen mince would thaw (at this time of year). I'm unhappy disposing of these gel packs when people seem reluctant to admit what is in them. To me it is all very suspicious. I think I'll give you a miss and try elsewhere, a shame as the products themselves are very good quality.

-Information on how to recycle ice packs and the wool liners is provided here https://www.wildmeat.co.uk/pages/packaging.
- Frozen mince would still have to have ice packs provided so that the meat did not thaw in transit, which is an issue for some customers.
-The wrapping around meat stops blood leaking onto other products and the packaging.
-The wool insulation shreds if not contained within the wrapper.

Mistake! I ordered the grass fed beef 2 rib…
I ordered the grass fed beef 2 rib joint. This was for a new year's day celebratory lunch. There was an excessive amount of fat throughout the joint and I do not mean the marbling!
The result was that there was a disappointing serving of beef to friends and family, alike.
When I raised the issue, I was continuingly patronised and challenged in the responses. Unfortunately I had no photographs to share, which I believe led to the abhorrent response, I received. I will not be returning!

We explained to Mr Marshall that the amount of fat on the joint would have been clearly visible before he cooked his joint, and therefore it was not possible to give him a refund after he had eaten the joint without any photographic information. We advise all our customers to contact us and send us images if they are unhappy with any of our products before they eat it. We then either resend the product or refund depending on the circumstances

I had an absolutely awful experience with this company. The turkey I ordered for our festive meal arrived rancid — the smell alone was enough to tell something was seriously wrong. It completely ruined our Christmas dinner and left me scrambling to feed embarrassed guests.
What made it even worse was the company’s response. Instead of taking responsibility or even showing concern, they immediately blamed me, insisting I must not have refrigerated it properly. That was absolutely not the case. Their refusal to acknowledge the issue or offer any refund or meaningful support was infuriating.
After reading other reviews, it seems I’m not the only one who’s had this happen. Based on my experience, I will never order from this company again, and I strongly recommend others look elsewhere for their holiday meats.
